- Notes app is telling me my iCloud storage is full when it isn’t. Only happing on my iPad and only on the notes app but I use notes all the time so it’s very annoying. Anyone know what’s going on here?

- My parent’s iMac started throwing this error screen and is bootlooping. I don’t know anything about macs. Anyone have suggestions?

Posted: 15 Jun 2019 06:53 PM PDT I stupidly kept my nail dehydrator on my MacBook air (early 2015) and I spilled it but thankfully it dries super quickly so I'm assuming no water damage(it's basically like acetone or alcohol) and the only problem is part of my keyboard no longer lights up. | Posted: 15 Jun 2019 05:43 PM PDT So I was just watching YouTube as you do when my iPad stopped connecting to the internet but still connected to the WiFi. my internet does this sometimes so i just waited it out because it normally fixes itself after a few hours. its been about 9 hours and it is still not working. I tried all the regular stuff like forgetting the network, resetting the router, resetting my iPad etc. but nothing worked. I'm out of ideas, does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this problem thank you. (ios 12.1.4 if that helps in anyway) [link] [comments]  |

| FaceTime audio (not video) issues Posted: 15 Jun 2019 05:18 PM PDT When you go into your texts and hit the persons name it shows the ways you can contact them (call, FaceTime, etc.) all of mine work perfectly fine except when I call my mom from there it does the phone call through FaceTime audio. It's the only one that does this and I can't figure out how to stop it. Everything online is about completely disabling FaceTime which I don't want to do. | Macbook Air 2015 Battery Problems Posted: 15 Jun 2019 05:00 PM PDT I have a 13" Macbook Air 2015 running Mojave. I've been having problems with my macbook suddenly shutting down at times. I've gotten the service battery notification. Coconutbattery is giving me erratic values on design capacity, but I get something as low as 5.3% design capacity. My battery has only gone through 461 cycles. I've already tried resetting the SMC, running down the battery and recharging fully, but the problem is still there. | Restart Required to Connect to Different Network Posted: 15 Jun 2019 04:40 PM PDT Every time I travel with my Macbook Pro & connect to a different network, I must restart the computer before I am able to connect to the Internet. It doesn't seem to matter if it is a new network or one that I'd joined in the past. I seem to be able to obtain an IP address & get the little green light showing up in my Network control panel that says 'connected', yet still won't be able to load any website until I restart. This is definitely something that I hadn't experienced prior to upgrading to Mojave, but I can't say for sure exactly which system update preceded the issue after that. | Bought 2009 Mac Mini on Ebay, won’t boot, black screen, no chime. Help :( Posted: 15 Jun 2019 03:17 PM PDT I bought a 2009 Mac Mini (no hard drive included) with 8gb of G. Skill memory from Ebay and I installed a Samsung 750 Evo into it. However I'm not getting any kind of chime or video on my monitor? I'm using a mini display port to hdmi adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PJ3LSIG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I'm a complete beginner with Mac (this is my first mac) so I'm confused on what's going on here. Could I have received a broken Mac Mini? The seller claims it was tested and works, they just wanted to keep the original hard drive I guess. The seller also has 100% feedback with hundreds of sales, so I'm still under the impression this is suppose to be a working Mac.. My other theory is that there needs to be something on the SSD. Currently it's just a blank un-partitioned SSD. Does this matter? Is it not like windows where I'll see a bios screen or something? I'm very confused.. I really hope it's nothing major. I was hoping to be able to use this to mess around in Garageband and perhaps Logic in the future if it'll run okay, as well as install High Sierra onto it using dosdude1's patcher. Worse comes to worse maybe I can contact the seller or even do a Paypal charge back if it comes to that. I really want to get this working. Little dissappointed that I'm not seeing anything on screen. Also if it makes any difference, the power light turns on and I just hear the fan spinning. I also tried putting in the original install disc's (as well as the copy of 10.6.3 snow leopard which it came with) and holding the letter C on my keyboard when it boots but I get nothing. Sounds like the disc gets choked up a little when it goes in as well (makes odd noises every few seconds), then after a little bit the mac mini just spits it out.. Is it suppose to do that? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I just tried an NVRAM/SMC reset, as well as booting from a bootable USB which I created using TransMac on my Windows PC. | How do I know what is actually taking up space in my iCloud backups? Posted: 15 Jun 2019 03:07 PM PDT I have 5.5 GB on my iCloud so it can't back up without me paying for the 50 GB, which I am doing for now just to be safe, but I know that I don't have that much data that I want. In the past, I have turned off literally everything except contacts, calendars, and notes. I have like 150 contacts, maybe 20 notes, and like 10 events saved in my calendar. I have turned off (and deleted) every app on my phone from icloud, photos and messages and everything else is turned off, and I have even deleted the entire backup and let it go all over again (just to get like 5.4 GB the next time instead of 5.5 GB) When I google this question, Apple's instructions on their website are less than helpful. When I go to manage storage like the website tells me to do so, I see health is taking 30.8 MB (fine by me, idc), notes is taking 591 KB (which I want, and that's microscopic), and then it just says "Backups" is taking 5.4 GB. Here's a photo. So then when I click on Backups, and click on "This iPhone," it gives 0 information. It shows me a list of apps asking if I want to back up their data, and every single one of these apps is turned off. Here's another photo. I tried going through the process on my Macbook as well, as Apple suggested, but I found pretty much the exact same information about my iOS backup. Also, iCloud backup is turned off on my Macbook, but that shouldn't be affected my iPhone 5.4GB backup anyway. Keep in mind, I just deleted the backup again and re-backed up prior to writing this post and taking the pictures, so everything I have done to try to solve the problem already has had its test run, and proved to not fix it. So I need new solutions. Hopefully, you all can help me because this is really frustrating to be paying for 50GB of data knowing that I don't need or want the 5.5GB I have. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 15 Jun 2019 10:55 AM PDT Connecting to any website other than Google or Youtube gives me an error saying 'the connection has been reset' (on Chrome). At one point I had Kaspersky running on this computer but now no longer have an anti-virus. I'm able to connect to home-wifi from down the block and my speeds are typically around 45 mbps. I'm not sure if this is an issue with my computer or Chrome or a mix of both, but since restarting my computer fixes it every time I thought i'd start here. Any help would be appreciated. It didn't show up, and the computer started making a whirrish noise over and over again. I shut it down, then booted it back up, after which it continued to do so. The setup goes as mini display port hooking up the two monitors together to a Henge dock which then plugs into the MacBook Pro. Any advice on how to make this work? If daisy chaining doesn't work, could I hook this up with two separate display ports to usb c adapters plugged in separate ports on the computer? [link] [comments]  |
