| iPod Classic “Do Not Disconnect” screen Posted: 01 May 2019 03:07 PM PDT I have a preowned 160gb iPod Classic device which I have been using for about 2/3 years now. Over the past year, it sometimes showed a tick or a cross with the message "Do not disconnect" like this, and this would usually be resolved by holding down Menu and the centre button for a few seconds. But today it came up again, I tried holding both buttons down and it still won't fix itself. It stays on the "do not disconnect" screen. Does anyone know why this is, or what I can do to get it back to its normal settings? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |
| Videos go black when trying to skip Posted: 01 May 2019 06:36 AM PDT Literally impossible to stream any video through Safari, trying to skip even a few seconds in a short video causes the video to freeze, then go black. It won't buffer and won't load any more until the page is refreshed (but it will happen again). It's driving me nuts, I've reset network settings, cleared history and data from Safari, and hard reset the phone and it seems to be getting worse. iPhone X latest beta update Edit: Tested in DuckDuckGo browser and the same thing happens. This is ridiculous. Even if the video catches up to the buffer point without input from me it will still freeze Edit 2: Even audio in my Music library streaming over BT to my car is having a similar issue. | Does iPad Pro discharge under full load? Posted: 01 May 2019 10:16 PM PDT My iPad Pro 12.9" (2017) seems to discharge under full load even when plugged in. By full load I'm usually either playing PUBG Mobile or drawing on a large canvas in Procreate. I've tried several different cables and chargers and always seem to get this result. I've tried MFI certified cables. Is this supposed to happen? I've heard that the MBP 15inch has similar behavior with its charger. [link] [comments]  |

I've gone through trying to get in by recovering the system, using iTunes, trying alternative passcodes but nothing has worked. How do I get back in? Edit: I GOT DFU TO WORK, HOOORAY! I'm only able to get it to work by using a different cable and a Windows 10 VM in Arch Linux on my desktop. As I'm writing this, it's almost done extracting and is close to restoring. | Posted: 01 May 2019 08:22 PM PDT As the title says, I'm trying to clear up space on my drive since my mac is running at a snail's pace. When I look at the breakdown of used space I get this: https://imgur.com/a/1WCml58 It says 11.85GB available of 120GB meaning I've used 108.15GB of space. However when you add up the contributions listed on the side you get only 61 GB. Where is the extra 46GB coming from? I'm guessing it comes from the system tab but it never stops loading, so I can't click into it. Is there anything I can do free up more space? I can't backup my stuff to the cloud anymore because there's a minimum requirement of disk space and some of my heavy CPU applications are crashing because of what I assume not enough space to store temporary files. I put everything I can on an external HD. Basically everything on my mac is software, software files, or plugins for software which shouldn't be put on an external disk. I'm on Sierra if that helps. | Simple way to separate airdrop receiving devices? Posted: 01 May 2019 07:44 PM PDT I'm borrowing my fiancee's ipad and I'm having to airdrop a lot of files to it from my macbook. Everytime I do this her iphone also gets a prompt from airdrop, and it's driving her nuts. Aside from disconnecting her icloud is there a way to send an airdrop specifically to the ipad without pinging her iphone at the same time? [link] [comments]  |

Watching video for example I could have constant lags every few seconds where the picture stops then continues, the laptop functions fine performance wise I took it abroad this past year and it wasn't used very often and during the winter was left powered off during in the cold for a prolonged time(something I suspect could have affected the performance) however I'm not 100% sure any help would be much appreciated. | Function keys not working properly Posted: 01 May 2019 06:37 PM PDT I just got a (new to me) MacBook Air (early 2015). All is good except that the F keys are not functioning. For example the f11 key (meant for turning down volume) is moving the window up and out of sight. I've watched some videos and everybody says to uncheck the "use F1, F2 ect. as standard function keys." Both while checked and unchecked the keys. | Posted: 01 May 2019 02:12 PM PDT Hello, I can't seem to find anything on google about this as the search results just return everything about photos in the cloud. Rather than specifically the account related profile picture. Essentially the problem I'm having is that whenever I register on a website using my @icloud.com email address, it provides this 10 year old photo of me, I can't find and I cannot change. I've gone into the iCloud Mail settings and I've change my photo, years ago. Although apple still provides the same 10 year old photograph. For example I've just registered an account for Star Citizen and before I'd even confirm my email address for that account. It had provided Star Citizen with a photo of me, which I presume is still linked to my iCloud account. Does anyone know how to change this and remove the photograph? [link] [comments]  |

| New Magic Mouse 2 has a right click problem Posted: 01 May 2019 05:16 PM PDT My apologies if this is a repeat — I didn't see evidence of other people having this problem here or on Apple Discussions: Got a Space Grey Magic Mouse 2 less than a month ago. Just realized that the button appears to be "unbalanced" — it won't click at all past about 4/5ths of the surface, counting from the left. The button goes down, but doesn't mechanically click (and a click isn't registered). Not a software problem; right-click is enabled on macOS, and clicking right-of-centre triggers a right click. But the button is dead on the far right side. If I imagine a click-trigger under the mouse surface, it feels like that trigger is weighted to the left of the mouse, far enough that the right side doesn't tip it. Just talked to Apple Support, and they're intimating that I'd have to pay for repairs since I bought it (one week) longer than two weeks ago. That seems rather shabby. Anyone else? | Very slow Macbook Pro 2012 13’ Posted: 01 May 2019 05:03 PM PDT Today my MBP started to run really slow, multicolor wheel evertime I want to do anything etc. It has a 500g Samsung SSD, about 6 month old and 4gb RAM. S.M.A.R.T not verified in Disk Utility. I runned disk utility to verify and repair and it says that everything is fine. Runned Onyx Maintenance and Cleaning and it didn't change anything. Checked with Malwarebyte for virus. Nothing. Did SMC and PRAM reset too and still slow. Activity monitor doesn't show anything going wild. Does it seem like the the SSD is going to die? Any advice? Yesterday I was about to go buy an older Mac Pro fully updated (5,1) with a good video card in hope to replace my older i7 MBP which has died from a known issue (Mid-2011). I wanted to use the Mac Pro as a main computer that can run photoshop, iTunes for all my house, Adobe Premiere Pro and one game I enjoy (Cities:Skyline). I bought three years ago (or so) a Thunderbolt display which I love. On my way to the person's place to pick up the computer, I called the guy to negotiate the final price and condition and we agreed to stick with the original price but to throw-in the deal an adaptor. Long story short, I found out my screen could not be used with these Mac Pros. Is there any solution? I did not get the computer but it's still available. I want to keep my screen but have a new computer too. Was wondering if it's a good idea to get an older Mac Pro, find a newer used one (not really into it since the prices are high), get a new Mac Pro with the Apple Care ( I read online the new Mac Pro might be coming this summer), find a used iMac 5K.... Posted: 01 May 2019 04:25 PM PDT to preface i just found this sub, so if this doesnt belong here please let me know. i dont know what's happened to my phone, but recently it's been acting wierd. none of my apps will update, and i cant download any apps. i tried checking to see if i had storage, even though it didnt say that i didnt have enough, but wasnt lucky. i recently got a vpn and was going to try out another one, but i cant download another one... i thought the vpn may have caused this but i deleted it and my phone is still acting wierd... | Mid-2015 MBP freezes when NOT connected to external display Posted: 01 May 2019 04:18 PM PDT Posting on behalf of a friend here but he has a 2015 MBP which he is having issues. He upgraded to Mojave 10.14.4 about a week or two ago. 3 nights ago he was using the machine as he always does. No problem. Next morning he wakes up and boots, and his keyboard and trackpad won't respond. Very strange. He was able to boot into safe mode but every time he tries to boot into his main account it freezes up. So he googles some stuff from his phone, and eventually boots into recovery and reinstalls the OS. Still has the issue. So today I run by his place and we commence looking for answers. We ran across an obscure post saying to try booting with an external display attached via thunderbolt. We took out his thunderbolt to HDMI and plugged into his tv. Everything works fine. Unplug, reboot. The problem returns. Every once in a while it will run for 30-90 seconds and then freeze again. Anyone else had this issue? Or a similar one? Thoughts? Thanks! TL;DR: 2015 MBP, 2.8 i7, 16gb, 1TB, Iris graphics (no card). Randomly decided to hang and become unresponsive unless we boot while hooked up to his tv via Thunderbolt to HDMI. [link] [comments]  |
