    I have an old Mac all-in-one desktop computer (I bought it from a friend who purchased it new in 2007 or 2008); it crashed last year and would no longer boot up. I just now got around to removing the HDD so I could get my files off of it, and once I put the computer back together, it powered on, made the Mac startup sound and had a solid grey screen with a file folder icon with a "?" on it. I turned it off, and now it will not power on again. Is it normal for a Mac without a HDD to turn on once and then not again?

    Bought a used Mac Mini, updated hard drive and ram. Now it keeps restarting on boot.

    Installed High Sierra fine without any issues.

    I've tried booting it in a few different modes. But it just keeps restarting every 2 minutes and doesn't get past the loading screen.

    Bizarre charging issues with MacBook Pro in a Ford Fusion Hybrid...?

    Hey all, curious if any of you have seen anything similar to this before or have any ideas for solving. My previous 2013 13" MacBook Pro charged in my Ford Fusion Hybrid (and other vehicles) with no issues. Recently, I upgraded to the latest generation MBP 15" and it is hit or miss with charging. Oddly, it seems to like charging from the standard AC port if the computer is beneath or around 15% battery remaining... However beyond that it constantly starts, then stops charging before ultimately stopping entirely. Attempts with the MBP closed / sleeping or even through a power converter yielded the same results with no successful charging. Any thoughts?

    Can’t share .mid files from share sheet (it stalls)

    I am trying to share .mid files from the share sheet on my iPad Pro 10.5 first gen ios 12.3.

    For example, when I try to share a .mid file from Dropbox, the share sheet opens, but it never fully loads (see screenshot) this happens with all apps on the device.

    It works fine on my iphone with the same apps. I'm guessing that there is an app that is causing a bug and preventing the share sheet to load.

    iPad Air one won’t load certain things

    The only app I can run is YouTube and Netflix. And only certain things load on safari or any search app. I cannot download apps as well. It just infinitely loads. And when I try to load something on safari it says it cannot connect to the server: but I load insta in safari and it works fine

    Is it possible to disable dedicated GPU to save battery life? (2017 Macbook Pro)

    I have the 15" 2017 Macbook Pro and the battery life gets drained so fast when using it. I've noticed the Adobe Suite and Chrome tend to use the high-end GPU all the time.

    Is it possible to disable this GPU and rely on the Intel graphics chip solely?

    What are decent filming accessories for the iPhone?

    Most importantly a stabiliser that can also double as a selfie stick for cool angles (Such as reaching out over a balcony to look back on the user etc) as well as having stable-non shakey footage

    I would also like something that could give me clear long footage, as the zoom on the iPhone camera is the one big let down there. Are there any telephoto lenses that you can attach for like an 8x zoom possibly or something?

    Help! I upgraded my iMac fusion drive to SSD and the drive disappeared (MacSales)

    My 2017 IMac included the 2tb fusion drive which I promptly upgraded to the SSD from MacSales. I followed each step and cloned the ssd, everything has been running great. Until yesterday...

    I plugged in an external SSD to backup my system with time machine as it has been a couple months since I last backed it up. Again, everything is going awesome. I went to sleep last night with the system on and running in the background and it put itself to sleep.

    When I woke the computer it could not find the internal ssd I installed. I used the flash storage built into the system from the fusion drive to create an install location to transfer from my backup.

    I looked under disk utility and there's just no hard drive. What gives?

    iPhone charging through powered USB hub?

    So I am charging my iPhone with my 2012 MacBook Pro using a powered USB 3.0 hub plugged in to one of the USB 3.0 ports on the MacBook for data transfer. The brick I am using with the powered hub delivers 2.4 amps, so I thought that it would charge the iPhone at the full 2.4 amps since the hub is connected to power from the mains, but it appears to be charging at the standard 800 milliamps. Is it impossible, then, to get full charging using this method?

    Siri and Apple Music randomly turn on whenever my EarPods are plugged in on my iPhone 8

    So this has been happening for about two weeks now. Whenever I have my EarPods in, one of two things would happen; 1) Siri/Voice Control would randomly switch on without me saying anything (I tried disabling Siri in hopes it would help but general voice control still butts in) or 2) a random song that I downloaded from Apple Music would just start playing, sometimes playing itself again after I just paused the song. This can happen anytime, regardless if I'm using anything with sound or not. I've deleted all third party apps I had and downloaded iOS 12.3 as soon as I could to see if it would help but alas, to no avail. Is there something serious going on with my phone or is this a problem I can easily fix myself?

    For privacy reasons, I would like to remove the built-in microphones inside my new Late 2013 27-inch iMac. I have searched online, and can't find anything showing the location of these microphones inside the computer or how to replace them yourself if they are broken. Does anybody have information on this? I would like to know how to access the microphones and safely remove them from the computer.

    Safari problem. Scrolling over videos does not prompt control overlay of video to show.

    While using Safari, scrolling over a video does not bring up the videos controls (i.e. volume control, play/pause, buffer bar, quality selecter). I have to click on the video itself to actually bring up these controls which is annoying because it pauses the video. It happens only on safari on gyfcat, youtube and Twitch to name a few.

    I have tried using chrome and that works fine, no problems. Also I have tried looking in the safari preferences and settings but I am not to well versed in dealing with problems like this.

    Can I change my primary icloud email address to alias and create a new primary icloud email address?

    Let me explain it in a simple way

    email@gmail(.)com - (My current Apple ID) - Don't need to do anything with this.

    email@icloud(.)com - (My primary icloud email address linked to my Apple ID) - I want to change it to alias.

    new@icloud(.)com - (Desired primary icloud email address) - Haven't created yet but I want it to be my primary icloud email.

    Yes, I know the primary and alias icloud emails serves the same purpose as email addresses but my OCD wants me to change it 😜.

    Can I use a eGPU on a 2014 Mac mini with TB2?

    Hello! I have a 2014 Mac mini with thunderbold 2 connectors. I plan to add a eGPU (Vega64 with Razer Core X case) and wonder if I can just use an adapter for the GPU since the case has a TB3 connection and the Mac has TB2.

    HELP! Indent in Books app.

    I was reading a book in the Books app of my iPad Air2 in epub format as I always do. While reading I touched the screen accidentally and the the paragraphs indented. It is very annoying to me and I want to reverse it. I don't know what to do in order to solve that. Has anyone experienced the same thing? Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

    I have a 50gb photo library in iCloud.

    When I sign out of iCloud (switching between home and work accounts) is the entire 50gb library deleted from my laptop?

    When I sign back into my home iCloud, is the entire 50gb library immediately re-downloaded?

    Or does it only download when I open photos? And would it download the whole library or just thumbnails?

    How does this work when you're perpetually dangerously short of hard drive space? (Also concerned because I am continuously pushing the data cap on my ISP broadband plan.)

    How does this work when you've let your paid iCloud subscription lapse?

    Does screen recording only record audio at certain times?

    When I try to screen record video and Audio during an Instagram video call only the video works and the audio doesn't. I've toggled with the screen recorder settings a bit and flicked the microphone switch on and off multiple times but it still isn't working.

    Apple Earbuds Stop Working (Right Ear)

    This has happened twice to both my Apple earbuds (one that uses headphone jack and one that is via lightning port). Both time I was just listening to music and then suddenly the right ear goes out. Does anyone know if this is actually some simple problem that I can fix or is it some wiring issue within the earbuds?
