An under-appreciated use for e-sim: Protection against theft. Posted: 04 Apr 2019 12:21 AM PDT If you disable Control Center and Siri from the lock screen and use an e-sim exclusively, then if your device is stolen you will always be able to track it while it's powered on. Before they could just pop the SIM card. [link] [comments] |

DISCUSSION: Apple Needs to Update iTunes UI on macOS Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:57 PM PDT I've been an Apple user for a very long time - most of my life (outside of one flip phone and one Blackberry). Given that statement, I find it incredibly strange that no matter how hard I think, I can't remember a time where iTunes looked any different than it does today (outside of Dark Mode). Apple's current design patterns and trends for UI seem to push very hard for: Minimalism, Elegance, Space, & Simplicity (I call it, M.E.S.S. ironically). While these patterns are overwhelmingly apparent in newer applications, like the Mac App Store - they seem not be apparent in the older ones. I totally get that some legacy apps (Chess, Dashboard, Stickies, etc.) might get brushed aside when "redesign day" rolls around...but it baffles me that iTunes still looks as it does. I'd be curious to get everyones thoughts on what the next step is? Especially given the fact that Apple Music has now launched. I'd like to see a simplistic/updated version of iTunes that cuts out a lot of the 'bloatware'. I don't need 99% of the so-called features they have built into iTunes now and I feel that most people are in the same boat. Side by side of the current \"Stores\" that come stock on macOS [link] [comments] |

How to give feedback on Apple News Plus? Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:07 PM PDT Has anyone figured out a way to send feed back for apple news plus? there's no option on apple.com/feedback and theres no feedback option in the app as far as I've been able to tell. I want to send them a note about developing a way to "bookmark" your place in an article, because some of the New Yorker articles are really long, and coming back to them to continue reading is a pain in the ass. I've wanted to send this to them for a week now, but I can't find anyway of doing so. [link] [comments] |
