I’ve been using my 11 inch iPad Pro for 2 months now and no bending. Posted: 01 Mar 2019 12:50 PM PST I've been reasonably careful with it, but it really hasn't been hard at all keep my iPad bend free. Just don't sit on it or but a bunch of weight on it unevenly. I put it in a backpack every day and make sure not to sit on my backpack, but besides that I don't really go out of my way to be careful with it. The bending issue is a problem and should be addresses in the next generation, but I do believe it was blown way out of proportion. [link] [comments]
Airserver and iPad is rocking my world for easy, cheap team whiteboarding Posted: 01 Mar 2019 10:37 AM PST I've got a distributed team - so gathering around a whiteboard is hard. We've typically had whiteboards in our home offices and point a webcam at it while videoconferencing. We wanted to do something better - so started looking at ways to share our iPad screen onto a PC. There were LOTS of quite expensive and yearly subscription models, and it all seemed a bit much for what we wanted. We didn't want to control Illustrator running on a desktop, we just wanted to show concepts and ideas and charts and that kind of thing. So after looking at a bunch of expensive complicated solutions I saw Airserver come up in these forums. I read all these scare stories around Airserver (terrible reviews on the MS Windows app store) but I figured for a 14 day free trial, why not. Oh boy - I freaking LOVE this thing. I can now just screen mirror from my iPad to my PC completely wirelessly (through the wifi network), its full screen and amazing. I got a simple free whiteboard app (called Whiteboard) - although there is the option to use some more sophisticated apps if wanted. Now I can start either a Zoom meeting or a Skype call and "share screen" and boom, suddenly everyone can see exactly what the concept is or how we should chart. We've messed around with Wacom tablets and Powerpoint and its just been terrible - this is seamless, fast, easy, dynamic - I'm kind of in a swoon. Its going to change how we communicate so much for the better. I saw all the Airserver posts seemed quite old etc, so I just figured someone else might be in the same position, and wanted to let folks know what was possible and relatively easy (Airserver is $20 and a one off payment - still on the trial period so haven't gone through the full paying up experience, but it seems legit). What’s the easiest way to switch from goodnotes 5 to Notability? Posted: 01 Mar 2019 05:51 AM PST I've used notability and goodnotes back and forth for the past 2 years. My gripe with notability was that the highlighter doesn't go under the text and I really hate that especially on very faded documents that I scan in. I recently decided to give notability a try again. What's the fastest and easiest way to export everything from GN5 into Notability? The backup feature no longer allows me to backup except into iCloud, as far as I know. TL;DR: How can I import a large amount of notes from goodnotes 5 into notability? [link] [comments]

Is the Apple Pencil noticeably quieter when using a screen protector? Posted: 01 Mar 2019 08:48 AM PST I have an iPad 6th gen that I mainly use for notes and school work. While the Apple Pencil isn't terribly loud compared to a keyboard, it's loud enough that it could possibly bother people where I study- the quietest floor of the library. Would a screen protector help muffle the sound of the pencil? [link] [comments]

iPad Pro 2018 Keyboard Folio for playing in garage band? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 08:37 PM PST Is it possible to use the Apple keyboard folio's keys to play piano keys in Garage Band the same way you can on a Mac? I can't seem to find any settings for it. [link] [comments]
For those of you who carry around a separate keyboard, how do you set it up? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 08:09 PM PST I am currently using a logitech k480 which is very bulky and heavy. It is quite difficult to lug around everywhere but at least I don't have to worry about setting the ipad in position as it has an integrated stand. I'm planning to ditch this keyboard though just because of its weight and I'll switch to a k380. It is slimmer and considerably lighter but I cant figure out how am I supposed to set the ipad in position at a good angle for typing. Do you guys carry around a separate stand or do you use a folio case. My ipad is caseless because that also adds to the bulk. [link] [comments]
