    Why is there a symbol for orientation lock but no symbol for silent mode on the status bar? For all the spoonfeeding Apple does (like big volume HUD), I am confused why they didn't do this.

    I often put my phone to silent mode and then forget to disable it because there is no notifier. Yes, you can see if you look at the physical button but it is easy to forget. If you are actively using the phone, seeing a symbol would let you remember it. Most android phones have it. Of all the spoonfeeding they do to keep ios noob friendly like the huge volume HUD in the middle, I am confused why they didnot implement this.

    Anyone know a photo sharing app with auto upload that lets you use the in-built camera app??

    Having an event soon and need a photo sharing app where guests can type in an event code and then have the app automatically upload all photos/videos that they take on their standard phone camera app in background, rather than having to shoot pics VIA the upload app itself.

    Anything like this exist that (this is important) is available in both UK and USA app stores??

    iOS (iPhone) Daylight Saving shifted appointment one hour ahead

    Today I noticed one of my recurring appointments was shifted from 10:00 to 11:00.

    While every other appointments remain static as I wanted them to be. This particular calendar didn't . It happened last year too, but I need to understand why this one acts up the way it does. Perhaps there's a bug if I set the calendar up on a iOS device compared to setting it up via the iCloud browser? I don't remember whether it was set up on the computer or the iPhone.

    These are the settings.

    iOS Settings:

    Date & Time it's on: Set Automatically

    Calendar Time Zone Override is OFF

    ​

    iCloud Settings (via the browser):
    Time Zone (Calendar only) its pin is on the country I reside in

    Central European Time / The Country I reside

    ​

    iCloud Settings (Calendar):

    Enable time zone support is DISABLED (No checkmark)

    hey, Android to iOS convert here. I heard that Google photos is the most convenient way to move photos across, whereby I keep my photos synced in Google's side instead of locally on the phone, but I don't really understand how this system works, I do have a few questions:

    1. does iOS photos actually sync with Google photos such that my pics appear in the local app?

    2. if yes, do folders appear in appropriate locations (ie. sync down and map down accurately)?

    3. will syncing be smooth and accurate (eg screenshots made in the local folder will appropriately sync into my google screenshots folder)?

    4. if no, when uploading photos from my iPhone will I get to choose photos from the Google photos app? if not how will it work?

    alot of questions haha because I know iOS isn't as open as android and I can't imagine apple giving Google access to the local system like that so I'm not really sure how it all works. thanks in advance!

    Definition of “friendly interface”

    I just thought about it, had an iPhone for years but up to this point I never thought why iOS is called a friendly interface when people compare it to android. I sound dumb but what does that exactly mean? Does does it have to do with how clean and easy that UI looks compared to any android skin?

    Strange: Contact Name Not Showing Up on Messages Notifications

    Very strange: I have an iPhone 8 (using iOS 12.2). For some reason, when my girlfriend texts the notification on the lock screen or as a banner shows her phone number +1.... and not her name. Every other contact seems to show their name just fine. Within the messages app her name shows as normal. Her name also pops up just fine on my iPad and Mac.

    I've tried various fixes: deleting her contact and then adding it back; logging out of my iCloud account and re-starting my phone; entering her number with a country code and then without.

    ​

    And still, the problem persists...

    AirPods 2 “Hey Siri” Question?

    Overall I like this feature. However, for some of my most important tasks like walking to my door with my hands full, I have to unlock my phone before this request is completed. I don't need to do this with my Apple Watch because once you are wearing it and unlock your phone its authenticated until you take it off. Do the AirPods have the same feature or has Apple overlooked it? I am hoping its a setup fix on my end because these would be 100x more useful if I didn't still have to reach for my phone to complete a task.

    I forgot my encryption password for my iPhone(A12) on iOS 12.1.2. I want to backup before a jailbreak comes out but I can't make a backup without it, what should I do?
