How can I have all folders arranged by last modified, in a grid, in Finder? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 02:25 AM PST Right now, whenever I drag a file from one folder to another, the icons are not aligned on a grid and some icons overlap each other. I hate having to manually set the style for X folder. Is there a way to make all folders in Finder arranged by last modified and in a clean grid? [link] [comments]
Do iCloud Notes, Calendar Events, and Reminders get stored locally on Mac? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 07:46 PM PST Hey there, I use iCloud to keep all my notes, contacts, reminders, etc. in sync with my iPhone and iPad. Despite not ever using the "On My Mac" feature, I have reason to believe that the "iCloud" notes, reminders, calendar events, etc. are ALSO being stored locally on my Mac itself, and are technically "on my mac" as well. For example, when I turn WiFi off, I still have access to all of my iCloud notes, and therefore it's not streaming the data from the internet (like iCloud.com does). Of course, when I am offline, any updates I make to my iCloud notes wouldn't be reflected on my other devices until later when I connect to the internet. I keep a full time machine backup of my entire mac. SO, does this mean that if Apple's servers crash and all my iCloud notes, contacts, reminders, etc. get deleted off the servers and deleted off my Mac by extention, they would still be recoverable from my time machine backup? On Apple's website, they say you can make local copies by copying the contents of iCloud Notes to TextEdit or something, but that confuses me, because technically all notes should be stored locally already, right? So Apple should have just said to use a time machine backup. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Feb 2019 04:19 AM PST Hi, I found a macbook on the street. Any idea how I could try and find the rightful owner? If I go in to recovery will it tell me the Apple ID it is signed in to or something? [link] [comments]

Windows 10 october update on external SSD: BSOD dump wpprecorder.sys Posted: 05 Feb 2019 01:56 PM PST I don't know if this is a general issue with the Windows 10 october update on the Mac/boot camp but I am unable to upgrade from the april update to the october one. While updating it results in a BSOD with the dump wpprecorder.sys description. Does anybody know what's up? [link] [comments]
Upgrade MAC Workstations from High Sierra to Mojave. Known Issues? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 10:59 AM PST Hello All, As the title states my company has requested OS updates for all our Mac Workstations (majority of these are just Mac Mini's) currently on High Sierra. These workstations are typically for general use, however, some are used in coordination with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains). I have been doing a ton of research to cover any issues which may arise from the upgrade, but wanted to pick some minds here on this subreddit to see if there are common issues that people have had with performing similar upgrades or working with GP (Great Plains). I have done a good deal of research but if you think there is an appropriate source you would like to link or simply want to describe your experience please feel free! Any information is extremely appreciated. [link] [comments]
Night Shift mode is not available on external monitor Posted: 05 Feb 2019 10:09 AM PST It is impossible to enable Night Shift on external monitor. There is no Night Shift tab available on external monitor settings. As I searched on the web, it should be available and work with any external monitor the same as it works on the built-in retina. Correct me if I am wrong. I am running on MB Pro on mojave 10.14.3 and connected my external monitor via mini DP (satechi dongle) and the monitor is Lenovo ThinkVision P27Q Do you guys have the same issue? Is there any fix inside macos (avoiding any 3rd party solutions/scripts)? [link] [comments]
Any good way to sync bookmarks between Safari and Chrome via cloud? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 09:47 AM PST As per title. Is there some cloud-based bookmark syncing service out there? [link] [comments]
Logitech Master 2S - Macbook Pro2017 Bluetooth Posted: 05 Feb 2019 02:51 AM PST Hi Guys, As so many i'm using a Logitech Master 2S mouse for my Macbook and a K780 keyboard. These are both connected via bluetooth, i use all 3 profiles (Desktop, Mac, Workstation @work). I'm having this issue where i connect my Logitech gear to my desktop via the unifying connector and i switch back to my macbook (which has been sleeping or shutdown) it won't reconnect via bluetooth. The indicator in the mouse will just blink and the Macbook will not realise it's trying to connect. I have to remove the device from the bluetooth menu in order to fix it. Anyone else also noticing these issues, i used to have these issues also with my Logitech Master first generation on this Macbook. Using the unifying connector on the Macbook would be a right pain since you'll always will need a dongle. [link] [comments]
How to restore missing iTunes features? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 07:25 AM PST I recently had to switch from iTunes 9.2 to iTunes 12.9.2.5 because Mojave won't run 9.2, and while I like the option to have a dark theme, there are some features from 9.2 I haven't been able to find in 12.9.
Any advice? [link] [comments] |
