How to wake up the remote without sending a command?

I primarily use my Harmony remote to control my ATV 4k so it's usually on when I grab my remote to tap the touchpad & show the time remaining or what screensaver is playing. The thing is that in either scenario, I want to wake up the remote (make it say Remote Connected in the corner of the screen) but tapping on the touchpad doesn't do the trick. Pressing a button or clicking the touchpad do wake it, but they send the associated commands. My best solution so far is just hitting one of the volume buttons because that's the least intrusive command to send, but that still seems silly...

Apple TV 4K keeps crashing to home screen

Hey guys,

for like 2 or 3 days my Apple TV 4K has been regularly crashing to the home screen for seemingly no reason.

It happens while I use the app Twitchy (I almost only use the ATV for that purpose) but the app never crashed before. I also hear to connection sound of my AirPods like they are connecting/disconnecting a lot.

I tried restarting it to no avail.

So yeah has anyone experienced issues with their Apple TV recently?

I have Plex set up to direct play HEVC to my Apple TVs (4K in living room, 4 in bedroom) and while the 4K has always played HEVC with ease given it has hardware support, I always found the software decoding in tvOS on the ATV 4 to be subpar, especially compared to third-party options like Infuse. If I started watching an HEVC video it would play fine, but skipping around and scrubbing through the video caused frame judder and long buffers. Since the 12.1.x release it seems like playback has gotten much faster. When I play a 2 GB HEVC file it plays about as fast as H264, and a larger 8 GB file only has minimal buffering.

Sky app ignores my HomePod

Streaming Audio from the Sky App on my ATV 4K to my HomePod is not possible, while playing the sound through my AirPods works fine... what could this be?

Apple TV WiFi Issue and WiFi Extender recommendations

So I have been having problems with my Mi Box and Also Apple TV.. The Apple TV I have not been able to get to connect to WiFi at all in this particular bedroom.. The Mi Box I was getting very poor WiFi coverage and would disconnect and then connect again.. Long story short lived the Mi Box to another room and it is working fine now.. My thought is possibly buying a WiFi Extender to reach over into that room and hopefully be able to help me connect to the WiFi with my Apple TV..

Does anyone have any recommendations on cheaper WiFi extenders to be able to provide a powerful enough signal to this room.. Looking to spend $50 or less.. Thanks for any input you have!!
