Question about the stutters by Xs models status Posted: 28 Feb 2019 12:47 AM PST Hello, I posted this question in /apple reddit, but it seems they think it´s a support request but it´s not actually... I´ve bought an iPhone Xs, but I noticed that I have the stutter problem. Which seems to affect all A12 models. https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/a6pyko/does_the_iphone_xsxs_max_have_a_serious/ https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-xs-momentary-stuttering-after-inactivity.2141542/ It´s been 6 months since the Xs launch and the problem is still there in 12.1.4. I´m still debating either to keep the phone or return it. Is there any news from Apple about correcting this problem as it becomes annoying since you see it (specially with the price tag...). Thank you very much! [link] [comments]
For all new redditors that use iPhone X, XS or XS Max Posted: 28 Feb 2019 09:17 AM PST I don't know how long this feature exists, but I found out today. Im sure that many know this exists, but for the ones that don't know: Go to Settings -> theme -> night theme and then choose AMOLED Night theme for better battery life. [link] [comments]
Can iPhone X survive cold weather? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 01:44 AM PST Hi all, Last week I went to Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada for a trip. The place was freaking beautiful but cold, it was -15 Celsius (5 degree Fahrenheit) at that time. I was having a lot of fun with the ice strupture and the snow. But the bad thing was I realized that I just had dropped my iPhone X on the frozen lake! I found out that I dropped it 10-15 minutes ago. Short summary, I tried to find the phone with every way I could think of. Phoning it the first and second times worked but third time it switch me off to the voice mail. I thought the phone died because of the cold. I tried Find My Iphone but no luck (offline device). Find My Friend app also did not work. But recently, after a week, the imessage that my friend texted the phone said delivered. Wonder how that worked? Because imessage requires internet connection. I planned to travel back to Lake Louise soon for the last effort in finding the phone, but I wonder if I did find it, would the Iphone be not usable because of the extreme cold? The Iphone X is ip67 water and dust proof, can it survive the snow as well? How about the lithium battery? The phone stayed on the lake for a week now so I guess the phone will be damaged by the cold somehow. P/S: Funny thing was I found someone's iphone on the way to the hot tub near Banff, AB, as well. Returned it to the front desk at the hot tub and I hope the owner found it! It sucks to lose your phone :( Thanks for reading so far and replying in advance! Edit 1: Isn't it funny that when we know where things are but cannot reach/find it, does that count as a lost item? lol [link] [comments]
Why do so many people act like the notch covers the screen? Posted: 27 Feb 2019 08:09 PM PST I'll be honest, when I first see the notch I was like "what the hell?". But I've never been one for change, I had the same reaction when they changed the home button and added Touch ID and when they changed the design from the 5S to the 6. But I actually tend to like the notch now. It moved the status bar out of the way, such as the clock and Wi-Fi indicator, and gives you more screen space. However, a lot of people act like the notch covers the screen. It's as if they took the existing bezel and moved it down even further. I always thought of it as the screen going up and around the speaker and camera, not the notch coming down. You have more screen space than before too, so it's not really covering anything at all. If the screen went 100% around the notch, like it does on Samsung's S10 with the hole punch, then I'd agree. It looks a lot like it's covering the screen with the hole punch. Another thing that doesn't make a whole lot of sense is a lot of pixel fans hating the iPhone X's notch and then being okay with the Pixel's bathtub notch. It's a really weird controversy around it, but I don't see the notch as bad design like a lot of people seem to be saying. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Feb 2019 12:59 AM PST So on my iPhone 6s a feature I used a fair bit was the "true" force close which I am not even sure if it was a feature or a bug but everyone knew about it and it was there for awhile. But I can't figure out how to do it if possible on my iPhone XS. For those not sure what I am talking about it is when you would hold the power button till you see "slide to power off" screen and then hold the home button till the screen disappears and it would basically clear the app cache and reset it. If anyone know how to do this on the XS if it is possible that would be awesome. Thank you and enjoy the rest your your day:) [link] [comments]

“We’ve run into a problem” issue Posted: 28 Feb 2019 08:33 AM PST Hey all. I'm having a really annoying issue with Apple Music where I go to search Apple Music and I get the error "We've run into a problem" with a "Try Again" button. Pressing the button does nothing. I have an iPhone XS Max, iOS 12.1.4, the issue happens on WiFi and cellular. I've reset network settings, reset all settings to see if that fixed the issue but it didn't. I've disabled Apple Music and iCloud music, rebooted but nothing. Apple system status shows Apple Music is working. I chatted with an agent and he suggested restoring, which I did twice, once I restored from iCloud backup and second time from iTunes backup but the issue persists. Any help? [link] [comments]
Switched to a note 9 when it came out from the x and I really miss my iphone. Posted: 28 Feb 2019 08:30 AM PST The note 9 is great, and really a fantastic phone. But dang do I miss facetime and imessages. Also just the synchronization between my iPad and my iPhone and the way airpods work. I really think that the note 9 is a better phone, but the apple ecosystem and how well everything works makes it so it really doesnt feel better. Also galaxy watch just doesnt compare to the apple watch I had. Anyone else switch to android and just regret it? [link] [comments]

State of eSIM in 12.1.4 [Verizon specifically, but any carrier]? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 06:22 AM PST I'm a RingCentral user now for a business venture of mine, and it's... okay. There's an app for me to use, and the iOS10 CallKit certainly helps its systemwide integration, though no iMessage integration. But I've had my eyes on eSIM since it was announced as a possible migration path. I'm a Verizon customer (and XS owner), and curious what the state of eSIM is in 12.1.4? I know at launch, there were quite a few issues, and I'm wondering from those of you who have two phone numbers in their iPhone, what they've noticed as plusses and minuses. Specifically, I'm curious about:
What are your other experiences with eSIM as of late (not the hiccups of the early months)? [link] [comments]
iPhone XR vs XS Max: Unexpected Battery Life Differences Posted: 27 Feb 2019 07:45 PM PST Preface: I decided to upgrade to the XR after some time with the 7 Plus. It was delivered last week and I've been using it non stop. Battery life was better than my two-year old 7 Plus, but not drastically; 7 Plus would read 15% battery when I would come home from work; the XR reads 30%. However, being used to the Plus sized screen, the XR keyboard and videos did feel a little cramped. I decided to purchase the XS Max as well, to see if I would like it more, with the intention of keeping whichever device I enjoyed more. Got the XS Max a few days ago, and it's definitely on the border of being too big for me. I usually use my phone two-handed, but every now and then I'll use it one handed to send a quick text, change the song, pick a new video, etc. For my hands, the 7 Plus was perfect, and the XS Max is right on the edge of being too big. Other than that, I love the device. Battery Life: Apple's website has battery comparisons that say the XR should have longer lasting battery than the XS Max. With the 820p display specs, as well as everyone on here saying they're amazed with their battery life, I believed it. However, most of the battery test videos on youtube have the XS Max outperforming the XR in terms of battery life. This got me curious so I set up a couple (very unscientific) tests of my own. Now I can truly say the XS Max has longer battery life. The XR was set up as a brand new device and the XS Max was set up off of the XR. Both devices had Cellular off, Bluetooth and Wifi on. Both at 50% brightness, charged to 100%. Video: After an hour of a live concert video on youtube, the XS Max had 92%, the XR had 89%. Next up, sleep mode. I left both devices alone for 2 hours. Max: 90%. XR: 86%. Finally: 30 minutes of Instagram with Feed refreshing. Max: 88%. XR 83%. The delta isn't that great, but still interesting nonetheless, due to unexpected results. Side note: I did make a post about my XR's battery not being that great, but I believe I found the issue and it was resolved. TL,DR: After 3.5 hours of amateur, unscientific battery testing, the Max had 88% and the XR had 83%. The Max has since dropped to 87% and the XR is still at 83%. [link] [comments]
Using an external DAC/Amp with USB-C port Posted: 28 Feb 2019 09:39 AM PST I have a Fiio M9 audio player that has a USB-C port that can also be used as an external DAC/Amp when connected using a USB cable. My question is can I simply get a Lightning to USB-C cable to connect the player to the iPhone for pass-through audio, or will I have to get a Lightning to USB CCK + USB-A to USB-C cable? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 05:42 AM PST So I have posted this elsewhere, but maybe this is the best spot. I have an iPhone that connects via bluetooth to my car radio. The scroll by titles on my radio is now showing duplicate and triplicate of songs in my iPhone's "Music" app, even though there is only one of each song in there. Any guesses what's up? Am I allowed to ask for advice on what to replace my 6S with? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 09:16 AM PST Spouse and I have twin 6S phones, we ADORE them. My battery is kinda shit, but I plan to replace it - easy fix. But my wife dropped hers last night and it's toast. Was already bent, now the microphone isn't working, battery was shit, screen has a pretty nasty crack... it's time. Happy with the phone, it's just taken too much abuse. And she's in a panic because this phone is her "office". So a replacement is urgently needed. I had hoped to wait for this fall and maybe get the next generation, but at least with my wife's phone... hands are tied. I'm very torn, I could easily go to Swappa and just get another 6S or maybe a 7 or 8 for a decent price. But we really like the idea of the dual cameras - that's a REALLY important feature to her, she wants to be able to take good photos. Battery life is another big concern. So the battery life thing makes me want to get an XR. But the camera is better on the XS isn't it? And the screen worries me on the XR, is it noticeably inferior? I mean, I guess either one would be a huge upgrade, but I'm curious if anyone has a strong feeling on which would be better? Price isn't really an issue. She just doesn't want the Max - prefers the more compact phone. Or should we really look at something used because the new phones don't seem to be THAT big of a leap forward v. an 8 or an X? How do you fix the issue of your text tone always going back to the default tone? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 09:12 AM PST
Posted: 28 Feb 2019 09:11 AM PST Am I the only one who when they put a playlist in shuffle it'll repeat songs that already played instead of finishing out the entire shuffle process? I thought maybe it was just my 7 but I just upgraded to my XS and I'm still having this problem [link] [comments]
Should I not be downloading updates if I’m using an iPhone 5S? Posted: 28 Feb 2019 09:11 AM PST I mean it's a little late because I just installed the new update, but I feel like my phone runs a little worse with every update. The new features are nice though. Also the phone is old, maybe it's that? I just love the 5S so much. It's the perfect size and heft, y'know? [link] [comments]
