Transferring/Playing 4k blu rays on my iPhone XS Max Posted: 25 Feb 2019 10:44 PM PST I'm trying to use iTunes to transfer 4k uhd blu rays (The Lion King & The Little Mermaid) to my iPhone to play in the Tv app. Last fall I watched the Dark Knight Trilogy 4k uhd blu ray on my iPhone x this way, so I can't figure out why the disney movies won't work (they have the same codecs). My iPhone is my only 4k device so It's my only way to watch the new 4k versions of these movies. I was able to transfer the movies using iTunes file sharing to vlc but the audio keeps disappearing after a couple of minutes. Thanks for any help [link] [comments] |
Issue with PDF images not loading on an iPhone- safari or iBooks Posted: 25 Feb 2019 05:30 PM PST Hey everyone, my friend sent me an issue he is having with his up to date IPhone 7. Certain PDFs for him won't load the images, regardless of how he accessed them, but will on mine (iPhone 8). And, it's not an issue with the source of the pdf, as they load on mine and other PDFs from the same source will load perfectly fine for him. I've included a link to an imgur album showing how it looks for me versus him, and was wondering if anyone has any idea on how to fix it. Thanks, he needs it for work primarily [link] [comments] |
Why am I hearing odd sounds and voices coming from my iphone? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 07:52 PM PST So I've seen here on Reddit that it's happened to other people, but no one seems to have an answer for it. It isn't just my current phone either. A couple of years ago I had an iPad and while on Wattpad on it, I suddenly began to hear a man's voice speaking and after he had stopped there was a static sound. I freaked out (and being only 14 at the time) was terrified to touch it again. I realized it was probably playing form the app I was on or on a different one but no other apps were open and when I closed Wattpad, I could still hear the static. I ran to my grandmother and told her about it and didn't want to be alone in my room with my iPad for some time. I had not really thought about the for a while because it seemed like a one time thing that happened in the past that I didn't need to worry about. Besides, I no longer had the iPad. Now I have the iPhone Xs. I was on YouTube watching a Ryan Trahan video when suddenly I heard water falling. It sounded like there was a slight echo but I'm not sure. I thought it was the video, but it didn't go along with what Ryan was saying or talking about. I then began to hear a man breathing hard and sounding like he was coughing water. I got weirded out and paused the video to see if anyone was talking about it in the comments. When I paused the video, the sounds continued. I put my ear to my phone to make sure that's where it was coming from. I closed all my apps except YouTube and the sounds stopped. I was relived but didn't know what app the sound could've been coming from since the only other apps I had open were notes, Bandsintown and messages. I decided to ignore what just happened and continue watching the YouTube video. But as I resumed the video, I could hear it again. This time the mans breathing was very heavy and erratic and sounded as if he was in pain. This didn't make sense to me since I had closed the other apps and when I had last paused the YouTube video, the sounds were still there. So again I paused the video and to my surprise, I could still hear the man. The sound was definitely coming from my phone. The water falling hard and the man's breathing deeply disturbed me. I closed of the YouTube app and about 10 seconds later the sounds stopped. I seriously have no idea what's going on. Maybe I'm freaking out over nothing, but I feel like something is wrong here. Where is the audio coming from? Why does it disturb me so much? The first time it happened the man sounded as if he was switching between English and Latin but I couldn't quite make out what he was saying (it sounds crazy and made up, I know). And the second was water falling and a man breathy heavily and erratically. I don't know what do. I just really want an explanation for all this. I'm not one to believe in the supernatural or religion. I trust science over all else. Am I being hacked? Can someone do that? Is it a glitch? I just really need answers. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2019 06:18 PM PST Hi. I have a question about tracking my location on my iPhone. Finding out my timeline/where I was would help me very much. I always have my location services on but google maps doesn't have any information even though I was logged in and significant locations was off on my iPhone but I turned it on to see if it had location history (nothing has come up). Does anyone know what I can do to figure out how to see my location timeline fro my phone on a certain day? [link] [comments] |
Broken iPhone 6 - Can I get data off it? Posted: 25 Feb 2019 10:52 AM PST Hey guys So my old iPhone 6 broke a couple months back, and I have some really precious photos and memories on there I would love to recover, problem is, it has no screen. It was damaged and the cables/connectors inside got all screwed up so when my friend was fixing it he tried sorting that out but to no avail, so I have a screenless iPhone 6. It still powers on and I can connect it to my iTunes, but unfortunately before the breakage I hadn't synced it to my laptop before, and therefore I cannot access my data. Any ideas? Would a factory reset remove an iPhone under your Apple ID/icloud devices? (more details inside) Posted: 25 Feb 2019 04:49 AM PST If I have an iPhone that I wanted to reset, would it be removed from the list of my devices when I check it on another iPhone's (that is logged in with the same apple id) iCloud setting? More details: My mom's iPhone got stolen, we used Find My iPhone to turn on lost mode. Mom buys a new iPhone, logs in with her existing Apple ID. In a few hours, she gets a message that says her iPhone 7 Plus has been found and a link to check the location of the missing phone. Turns out it is a phishing scam and we were stupid and fell for it hook, line and sinker. The thief has gotten hold of her Apple ID and password and disabled Find My iPhone in the missing iPhone 7 Plus. We realized it was a scam (after probably 10 minutes?) and immediately changed her Apple ID password. We also changed all her email and social media passwords, and removed all her credit card info. Upon checking on her new iPhone and on the iCloud website, her missing device is still under her account. This is a screenshot of iCloud's website that shows the stolen iPhone still under my mom's account. Does this mean the thief has not wiped clean the phone yet? Or the thief had successfully wiped it clean but the Apple ID is still log in? Is my mom's account still compromised this way? What is the safest thing that we can do with regards to my mom's data. Thanks for all the help! Additional info: the stolen phone is passcode protected. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2019 06:30 AM PST My Calendar (IOS native) lists some calendars I can't seem to get rid of. I am aware that to remove calendars I have to go to settings > passwords & accounts - BUT the problem is that the calendars I want to remove are not listed there because I am not subscribed to them (= they don't show up in the "subscribed" section in the calendar app, but in a section below my account name and in a section called "other", a calender named "Birthdays" and "Found by Siri in apps" or similar is also in this section). The calendar is called "Feiertage in Deutschland" (German National Holidays) and it appears that one of them is tied to my iCloud account (because if I remove these acounts, the calendars disappear), another one to a gmail account - yet if I check the calendars on these accounts, they are not there (neither in iCloud nor in the google calendar). I want them removed not because they show up in the calendars app (which they don't), but they appear in apps like "Things" (scheduled tasks) which I use to manage my job. Any suggestions? TL:DR: Calendars I want to remove don't show up anywhere, so I can't remove them. [link] [comments] |
