I'd like to share my app with you: New notes app focused on the content organization

    Hi /r/ipad

Just want to take a few minutes of your time and introduce the new note-taking app my team and I worked for a long time. We've released iPhone app a month ago and iPad app a couple of days ago.

We've decided to create it because we didn't find any effective solution for collecting and organizing a big number of notes (yes, I have a lot of them).

So, Unit is a note-taking app that provides a quite new experience of collecting, organizing and managing all your notes.

Content in Unit is made up of independent blocks, like texts, lists, tasks, images, files etc., so a user has the ability to manage the data more efficiently.

There're a lot of interesting features like content reordering by gestures, the ability to create nested hierarchy, tags, reminders, color coding, offline mode, telegram messenger integration etc.

Currently Unit is available for iOS only, but we're planning to develop apps for all popular platforms in the nearest future.

We're actively looking for feedback. Please let me know what do you think. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Apple pencil 2 draining iPad’s battery life?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 06:41 AM PST

Hey buddies, Is it me or the Apple Pencil 2 actually drains A LOT of battery from the iPad Pro 2018? I mean, since I've bought the Pencil i've noticed a drop in battery time.. for example when I close the iPad before bed at 25% battery with the Pencil on it, when I wake up on the morning the battery life is 2%.. is that normal? have you also experienced that?

Switched surface pro i5 4g 2017 for 11in pro and pencil latest

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 07:14 AM PST

The iPad Pro is more fluid for almost every program I needed for school work and research. Obviously the surface is cool being a full computer os but it's not even the same league.

    Citrix on Base iPad

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 07:27 AM PST

Does anyone have experience running Citrix on an iPad 6th gen or other bas models? I currently have an iPad 2 that I never used a ton and is pretty much useless now as apps stop supporting iOS 9. I'm considering replacing it as a general reading/content consumption device (mostly reading news, internet browsing, and streaming) but wanted the option of using it for more productivity-focused things (Google Docs/Sheets, marking up pdfs, and remoting into my virtual desktop for work) in a pinch.

I've seen posts here talking about running Citrix on a iPad Pro, but don't know if I want to spend that kind of money on something that would be a secondary use of a secondary device, and wanted to know how Citrix performs on the 6th gen (or other recent base models). What is everyone's experience?

Question about ipad 6th gen for non apple user

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 12:03 AM PST

Tempted to get the ipad 6th gen but i have some question that i want to ask before buying it.

    1. Can the split view split the screen horizontally rather than vertically?
    2. Can i access a document from a flash drive directly? (im too low on budget to buy a higher storage ipad)
    3. How is the battery holding up after 1 year of using it? (battery deterioration)
    4. Any downside of ipad u would like to share? (other than the screen gap)

P.S. im only buying the ipad for studying purposes on a extremely tight budget. Thanks in advance!

Does iPad pro’s battery get damaged whenever the battery dies?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 03:31 AM PST

I've caught myself a few times where my iPad's battery dies/falls flat while I'm using it, maybe because I'm not paying attention to the percentage signs or whatever. But I also heard somewhere that if this happens often then the battery would get permanently damaged. Is this true?

New iPad Pro 11" Battery Drained

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 11:01 AM PST

    Hey all,

Picked up a new iPad Pro 11" 2 days ago and got it all set up. Last night, I used it for about 10 minutes and put it on my table with 60% battery left. When I checked my iPad this morning at 10:30AM, it was completely dead and I had to plug it in to charge.

After viewing the battery stats, it looks like Netflix audio utilized 83% of the battery but when I individually clicked on the little grey bars to see what was used at a certain time window, there are no apps active... I also clicked the Netflix to show the activity and the screen on time was only 12 minutes...

Never had a device do this even if it was indexing...

Anyone else have this issue, if so what can I do to fix it?

    Standalone iPad

    Posted: 02 Feb 2019 01:26 PM PST

    Hey everyone,

I'm a design student and a lot of my workflow includes sketching and rendering, which is primarily why I'm interested in the iPad. But of course, the iPad can do more than sketching, so, for someone who is not a part of the Apple ecosystem, what are some drawbacks of the iPad? Am I able to get the most out of the device (and my money) if it's my only Apple product?

Testing out SteetSeries Nimbus in Fortnite

Anyone buy the 3rd gen 12.9 Ipad Pro from Costco?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 11:18 PM PST

I've had great customer service getting my products from Costco and their return policy is the best I've dealt with. I'm curious if anyone has gotten one from there and if they had any bundles or added warranties or anything from buying with them.

Having a blast playing Fortnite with Nimbus

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 07:07 PM PST

The 12.9 inch iPad Pro is phenomenal for gaming and Fortnite looks excellent on it. But the touch controls have always been a pain in the ass to use and I usually get killed off early. This morning I bought a SteelSeries Nimbus and spent a good portion of the work day playing Fortnite with it. Gaming is SO MUCH BETTER with this. Sorry I waited so long.

If you're thinking about getting a controller, I highly suggest it if you're looking to do some serious iPad gaming. What a damn blast.

iPad pro 10 case - the best one if you have a pencil and an apple keyboard

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 07:19 PM PST

Need a new case for my iPad Pro 11in.

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 03:45 PM PST

When I bought my iPad I got the speck folio case along with it. This is pretty feature packed but it's ultra bulky and is REALLY crappily finished. Like most things I touch are slightly sharp. Then I got a super thin one off Amazon from ProCase and I dislike how I'm now missing out on the multi angle kickstand thing.

Does my perfect case exist? I don't really need built in Apple Pencil storage (but it'd be nice to have a way to at least keep them together when they're in use), I don't need smart keyboard stuff etc. I mostly use it to take notes while walking around but I also use it for movies etc on airplanes.

    Any ideas?

Easiest way to connect an ipad pro 12.9 to an HDTV?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2019 05:22 PM PST

Gonna be traveling for the next few weeks in and out of various hotels. I want to catch up on a few netflix shows but would prefer to watch 'em on a TV. Given that the new pros have USB-C, is it just a matter of buying a USB-C to HDMI cable? Or is there anything else I need? Will it properly display the content & audio?
