[News] unc0ver v3.0.0~b36 was released to greatly improve the reliability of the jailbreak

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 12:07 PM PST

02/26/2019 - v3.0.0~b36 was released for public testing with the following changes:

    • Double version number bump to prevent possibly confusion caused by a previous mistake regarding the version numbers
    • Greatly improve the reliability of loading tweaks
    • Improve the reliability of loading patchfinder64
    • Update the APT lists cache file for repositories

    Important Notes:

    • The incompatible versions of the "Apple File Conduit "2" (arm64/KPPLess)" package have been found to cause the jailbreak to fail to load tweaks. - If you are having this issue, please jailbreak without enabling tweaks, update or uninstall this package and re-jailbreak
    • Many extensions are known to cause issues with the iOS 12 due to the lack of proper iOS 12 compatibility. - Please be careful with what you install
    • It is highly recommended to turn on the Airplane Mode before attempting the jailbreak

[Discussion] Battery Replacement @ AS with IOS 12 Jailbreak

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 06:08 PM PST

Today, I decided to get my battery replaced in my IPhone X due to my warranty ending soon and I wanted 100% health rather than 88%.

Do not go to an Apple Service Provider unless it is the last resort! I made an appointment at this place called PST Computers and they denied me of service because the diagnostic test showed my battery percent was 88% even though I only had 300 cycles. So I went ahead and scheduled an appointment at a Best Buy that was apple authorized however, they did not have batteries on stock and luckily I called before making the trip, thanks to the previous members who shared their experiences.

Anyways, I was determined to get my battery change today so I messaged an Apple chat adviser and she verified for me that any Apple or any apple service provider must honor a requested battery change regardless of diagnostic results. The agent also filed a complaint against the service provider who denied me and she scheduled me for an appointment at the nearest apple store .

Steps I completed before going in:

    1. Saved my blobs and backed up my device and tweaks.
    2. Rebooting my device (not rootfs) to get my phone out of a jailbroken state.
    3. Hiding Cydia and all jailbroken related apps by going to Settings<Screentime<Content & Privacy Restrictions<Content Restrictions<Apps and selecting "Don't Allow Apps" (This will hide all your apps except for stock ios apps without deleting them or offloading them.)
    4. Turned of "Find My Iphone"

When I finally walked in, I was seated and a technician ran a software diagnostic which came up clean. I made sure to tell her I did not want my IOS to be updated. I was then told the replacement would take an hour and I came back an hour later and it was waiting for me :).

TL;DR: Managed to get a battery change with no problems on Iphone X after ios 12 jailbreak.

[Release] Copy! : Copy text from any UILabel, anywhere

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 05:25 PM PST

Hello, I have a quick release for all you juicy members of society.

This tweak is called "Copy!", and it lets you copy text, almost anywhere.

You just have to triple tap on any text, and it will bring up a menu where you can select the text you want to copy. This doesn't work with the Reddit app yet, since they decided to make their own custom label, but you can expect that in the near future. (It still works on other Reddit apps)

    Demo

This tweak is free, but I would really appreciate if you supported my work.

[RELEASE] KillX - One swipe to kill them all! iOS 12 (FREE)

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 10:41 PM PST

[RELEASE] KillX - One swipe to kill them all! iOS 12 (FREE)

    KillX

Hi everyone! Here is my first tweak.

I remember having something similar back in the good iOS 6 days. Hope you like it :)

Description: Get rid of swiping 10 times in a row to close all your apps! KillX allows you to simply swipe down once on one App Switcher card to close all of your running apps. The tweak is currently in beta and is well tested on iOS 11-12.1.2.

Simple feature, more to come soon!

    Cydia Repository: https://cemck.github.io/repo/

    Screenshots:

    KillX

    Link: Download

    Price: FREE

    Known Feature Requests:

    • Haptic feedback after closing apps
    • Option to keep music running after killing apps (coming soon)
    • (Maybe add option to use button instead of swipe?)
    • Option to block apps from closing
    • Option to close all apps, excluding recently used apps

Have fun! I would appreciate your feedback and feature suggestions. Please send DM for bug reporting.

[Question] Tweak that changes the Music to Spotify by default?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 06:58 AM PST

[request] a tweak that shows what songs will play next, when you 3D Touch or long press on the music module in control center. It would also be nice if you could scroll through the songs.

[Release] Nocturnal -- control Eclipse12 from your control center!

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 06:13 PM PST

    Nocturnal

    So what's it do?

This tweak is a control center toggle for enabling/disabling Eclipse 12

    How much does this cost?

    FREE! Hooray!

What devices/iOS versions is this compatible with?

12.0-12.1.2, also requires eclipse 12 to be installed

    Where can I get it?

https://samgisaninja.github.io (you can open this webpage in safari on your device to add my repo to Cydia automatically)

I do not intend to submit this to a default repository, however I hope that gmoran // fr0st will incorporate this into eclipse 12 as a default feature

Any planned features for future versions?

There no planned updates at this time.

    Help, my phone is broke!

The only known issue with this tweak is that if you use the toggle, then open the Eclipse settings page, the "enabled" switch will not reflect if the tweak is actually enabled or not (Eclipse might be disabled but the enabled switch will be on). I don't know how PreferenceLoader/Bundles works, if someone wants to fix this, or if I'm doing something glaringly obviously wrong, let me know please!

If you have any other issues, please report them below or on github issues (click the "source code" link below)

Your code sucks, it'd be way better if you did this instead.

Open a Pull Request or github issue or comment explaining what I can do better.

    This is open source? Hooray!

And it's WTFPL too! Check it out!

I love you Sam, can I send you money?

Donations are never required but always accepted <3 https://paypal.me/SamGardner4

[Help] Tweak that lets you see how many hours there are before alarm goes off, ios 12

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 04:06 PM PST

[Discussion] Heads up: A7, A8 and A12 devices are NOT currently supported. Please do NOT flood the Github for unc0ver with issues asking for support / why not supported.

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 06:18 AM PST

Hey everyone in r/jailbreak. Just a reminder here: unc0ver doesn't currently support devices with A7 A8 A12 processors.

The affected devices include the following

    iPhone 5s, iPadmini 2, iPadmini 3, iPad Air 1 (A7)

    iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPadmini 4, iPod Touch 6 (A8)

**iPadmini 4 is supported**. Huge thanks to u/Daemonxss

iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPad Pro 3 (A12)

    Source: https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/Application_Processor

If you have the devices above, don't worry, they will be eventually supported. However, the devs need time to find the offsets and support them. The support for A7 and A8 devices is already finished according to Pwn's twitter, and the release is likely to be dropped in the near future.

The issues tab for unc0ver on GitHub already has its contents doubled, tripled with the recent release of unc0ver supporting iOS 12. But a huge proportion of them are meaningless posts basically saying why these devices are showing unsupported (as they are literally unsupported). It's going to be a waste of time for devs to close the issues one by one and the support will likely be delayed if they have to deal with them constantly. So in the meantime of this short waiting, please do not bother the devs while they are working on supporting them. They need time as well just as we do. :)

    Thank you, guys.

Edit: Why I'm posting this here: I've been closely watching unc0ver's Github since its release and replying to the questions. You can see how the devs used to be very active answering people's questions and the support is almost perfect. With the recent releases, the number of these kind of requests soared much more times than it used to be, and sometimes devs are already unable to handle them one by one. So if you are one of the users on Github who has opened issues like this asking for support, it'd be much appreciated if you can close them for now and wait for the release. Thanks ;)

[Tutorial] Keep backup when you downgrade ios to a previous version

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 10:57 AM PST

I decide to do this tutorial because a lot of people ask it and few people know how to do that

    1. Backup your phone via iTunes
    2. Go to :
on Mac : iTunes > Preferences > Device > Your backup > Press control and "Show in Finder"
on PC : Appdata > Roaming > Apple Computer > MobileSync > Backup > Your backup (Strange name with a lot of characters and numbers.
    3. In your backup folder you need to edit Info.plist :
Open file with wordpad or equivalent on mac :
Search the version you were on the device when you backed up (ex : if you did a backup on a device on 12.1.4 search "12.1.4" and replace this by the version you want to downgrade. (ex : if you want to downgrade to 12.1.1b3 from 12.1.4" replace 12.1.4 by 12.1).
    4. Then go to iTunes > iPhone page > Restore from backup and select the backup you have modified
    5. It should work without any error
    6. Have fun and good jailbreak !

[Request] Apple Music tweaks that add/improve functionality

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 11:40 PM PST

    Some things I'm looking for:

    • Change recently added to recently played
    • Removing the big pop ups when performing actions
    • Customizing bottom tab
    • Tapping on artists image leads me to their artist page w/ the discography

The last one is inspired from Spotify. I was used to not saving anything other than following artists and playing music from there. In AM I have to add albums/songs 1x1 (first world problems).

[Tutorial] Now Unc0ver jailbreak is out, remember to change your root password

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 02:40 PM PST

    1. Add "https://repo.chariz.io" in Cydia if you do not already have it.

    2. Install "NewTerm 2" and open it.

    3. Gain root access by entering "su".

    4. It will subsequently ask for the current root password, so enter it. The one Apple sets by default is "alpine".

    5. Enter "passwd".

    6. Enter your new root password and repeat it when prompted. Be sure to pick something secure.

    That's it!

Ps: Don't forget to change your mobile password, too! The same steps apply, just replace "passwd" with "passwd mobile".
