[discussion] Stop Spamming Jake James on Twitter!!!!!

    https://i.redd.it/hdfnrald81f21.png

    LETS MAKE THIS GO VIRAL!!!!!

Everyone stop spamming Jake James on twitter asking him when will his jailbreak support A12 Devices. Jake James is a living, breathing human being just like all of you and should be able to do what ever he wants in his spare time. I think is a really good person I am on his tweet everyday and he responds to a good amount of his comments. Which isn't something you see most Jailbreak Developers doing. And it gets really irritating when 3/4 of your comments on EVERY POST are WHEN WILL ROOTLESSJB SUPPORT A12 WHEN WILL ROOTLESSJB SUPPORT A12 WHEN WILL ROOTLESSJB SUPPORT A12 WHEN WILL ROOTLESSJB SUPPORT A12 WHEN WILL ROOTLESSJB SUPPORT A12. I can understand how irritating and frustrating it must be that most people have A9 - A11 devices. And seeing all the tweaks that are being created to support rootlessJB3. And seeing all the developers showing of their themed Devices that have Sn0wBoard, Noctis12, and etc. But it doesn´t mean you have to take your anger out on him. I have an iPhone XR iOS 12.1.1 as my main device and I am really anxious to get my device jailbroken by RootLessJB3 and I understand everyone's frustration. If we all appreciate his work and give him nice motivating comments. If so I am sure he will start working on RootLessJB3 for A12 Soon. Join me and make his comment section a better place for everyone.

Please excuse my grammar errors Im not the best writer.

    [Tutorial] RootlessInstaller/rootlessJB guide for noobs

    Posted: 06 Feb 2019 09:26 PM PST

run rootlessjb, have iSuperSU toggled on

install RootlessInstaller (http://alticha.github.io/RootlessInstaller.ipa) using cydia impactor

open this in safari https://github.com/doggybenny/RootLessInstallerDEB and/or alternative repo

select tweak you want, then let that page load and hold refresh button and tap "request desktop site"

after that, find the grey download button and hit it, let the file download and copy the link in the url bar

open RootlessInstaller, then open iSuperSU and tap on the RootlessInstaller task and select "all in one" in the menu that appears

paste link in RootlessInstaller, tap exploit, then hit done on the keyboard, tap install, respring, bam

exploit might need a reboot or two, make sure low power mode is off.

edit 1: as of me writing this probably only works on A9-A11 which i am. i have tried Cylinder, Icon Renamer, and DockXI all with successes on my 6s running 12.1.2 16c101 i think

[Release] iOS 12-12.1.2 rootless pre-patched tweak collection with download

    Posted: 06 Feb 2019 10:37 PM PST

I Here have included a collection of tweaks that I have pre-patched to work on the rootless jailbreak for iOS 12-12.1.2, I thought this might be useful to people around here and I will keep it up to date. Most of the list I have gotten to work myself.

I will be adding more continuously so expect more. If you need me to add anything specific in the meantime make sure to let me know!

edit: Added tweaks in .deb formats for use on rootlessinstaller

[Tutorial] How to Install Pre-Patched Tweaks Without Pc or Mac (Works but kinda a wip)

    Posted: 06 Feb 2019 06:37 PM PST

Thought I'd share this since most people don't have access to a mac which means they can't enjoy the work of the devs and overall the jailbreak itself. No longer a WIP

BTW, Cylinder has an extra folder "Cylinder" this goes to /var/containers/bundle/tweaksupport/library

    Preparation -

    1. Go to the AppStore and search for an app called "Unzip -zip file opener" and download it.
    2. Find a pre-patched tweak to be installed
    3. Have a basic understanding of using GeoFilza or your file manager

    Saving the tweak -

    • You must already have found a pre-patched tweak in order to do this, such as a google drive link, discord, etc.
    • I understand that this post does not contain any patched tweaks but a quick search on google should do the trick :)
    1. Loading up the tweak in safari you should see "open in GeoFilza" (or your file manager), in this case you want to tap "More..." and then scroll over to "Copy to Unzip", and tap that
    2. This will then bring you to the Files screen in the Unzip app. The tweak you choose should appear as a zip file.
    3. Tap the .zip file in order to unzip it. Once unzipped, close the Unzip app and open GeoFilza or the file manager of your choice.

    Locating tweak files -

    1. Once in GeoFilza head to /var/mobile/containers/data/application/unzip/documents
    2. Once in documents you should see the folder of the tweak you unzipped, go into that folder and you will see the files you have to copy
    3. (Normally there are three folders, MobileSubstrate, PreferenceLoader, and PreferenceBundles. This may vary from tweak to tweak)

    Copying folders / Files -

    1. Now in the MobileSubstrate folder of your tweak, head into DynamicLibaries and then copy all the contents of the folder, and paste to /var/containers/bundle/tweaksupport/library/mobilesubstrate/dynamiclibraries
    2. Next go back to /var/mobile/containers/data/application/unzip/documents/(YourTweak) and go into the PreferenceLoader folder, then Preferences, and copy the contents of the folder, and paste to /var/containers/bundle/tweaksupport/library/preferenceloader/preferences
    3. Finally you have to go back to /var/mobile/containers/data/application/unzip/documents/(YourTweak) and go into the PreferenceBundles folder, and copy the .bundle folder, and paste to /var/containers/bundle/tweaksupport/library/preferencebundles

    Activating the tweak -

    1. Power off
    2. Power on
    3. Jailbreak with RootlessJB3 by @Jakeashacks
    4. And Voilà! Your tweak should now be working or you have to activate it in settings!

    Tips! -

    1. I recommend GeoFilza over other file manager since its the most stable, for me at least.
    2. I also recommend favorite the /var/mobile/containers/data/application/unzip/documents and the /var/containers/bundle/tweaksupport/library by navigating to the folder and taping the bottom middle star, then the plus button, and done. This is for quick easy access for transferring files and folders.

    Credit -

    Big thanks to,

    • @jackashacks, for putting together the RootlessJB and other devs
    • Tweak creators, for making the tweaks we love

[Discussion] rootlessjb enables SSH on port 22 (WiFi), but since there's no remount, you can't change the password

    Posted: 06 Feb 2019 09:55 PM PST

So this is a massive security flaw, everyone running this "jailbreak" should go to /var/containers/Bundle/iosbinpack64/dropbear.plist and change the 22 to 127.0.0.1:22 (Item 6 if you're using a filza knock-off), reboot, and re-"jailbreak".

This will restrict SSH to USB only.

[Release] Cr4shed - more useful crash logs

    Posted: 06 Feb 2019 11:15 AM PST

I recommend that everyone installs this on their device, even if they don't know exactly how to use it. It will allow you to send a useful crash log to a developer if you experience a crash, hopefully allowing them to fix your issue ASAP

    Screenshots

This is a useful little tweak designed to help developers identify and fix crashes in a way that CrashReporter simply cannot. It generates a crash log in /var/tmp/crash_logs including information such as the process that crashed, the exact reason for the crash, the method that the crash occurred in and the dylib that caused the crash. It is available from Packix for free.

This is super useful if someone reports a crash to you and you can't work out what the issue is purely from the crash log generated by CrashReporter. (It is also extremely useful for identifying causes of crashes in development). This report should be everything you need to work out exactly why the crash occurred, and how to fix it.

This is designed to work alongside CrashReporter, not to replace it. It provides information that CrashReporter cannot provide and is usually all you need to identify the cause of the crash, but CrashReporter can still prove useful too.

This should also work perfectly on rootlessJB as the crash reports are saved at /var/tmp/crash_logs.

Please report any issues you have with it here.

The source code is also available here.

If you would like to donate, you can do so here, or follow me on twitter for more updates here.

Edit: If you are using rootlessJB, you can get the deb here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Muirey03/Cr4shed/master/packages/com.muirey03.cr4shed_1.1.0_iphoneos-arm.deb

[Tutorial] Safe Respring and SSH Commands with Shortcuts on rootlessJB

    Posted: 06 Feb 2019 02:18 PM PST

    What am I talking about?

iOS 12 brought the Shortcuts app to our devices. Now that we have the rootlessJB out we can utilize this app to run commands on our devices. I created a Shortcut to run SSH commands on your device without needing Termius or a Computer.

    Requirements:

    Steps:

    1. Download the LocalSSHCommands shortcut from the link above and go through the configuration.

    2. Jailbreak with rootlessJB and install iSuperSU (You may need to compile or ask a friend to compile and archive an .ipa for you since jailbreaks.fun hasn't uploaded that version).

    3. After respring open Shortcuts, wait for it to load, go back to the Home Screen, open iSuperSU, choose Shortcuts > All-in-One, and then go back to Shortcuts.

    4. Run the LocalSSHCommands shortcut and enter any SSH command. The output will show up as an alert.

    Respringing:

To respring run /var/containers/Bundle/iosbinpack64/usr/bin/killall -9 SpringBoard

    Important Info:

    Screenshots of Directories w/ Binaries:*

    /var/containers/Bundle/iosbinpack64/bin

    /var/containers/Bundle/iosbinpack64/usr/bin

    /var/containers/Bundle/iosbinpack64/usr/sbin

It seems that jake's symlinks for binaries aren't working with this method. Most of the commands you'll be using are located in /var/containers/Bundle/iosbinpack64/usr/bin/. So if you want to tun uname -a you must run /var/containers/Bundle/iosbinpack64/usr/bin/uname -a unless symlinks work for you but I had no luck.

You can add this Shortcut to the home screen for easy access.

[Tutorial] Enable local SSH on rootlessJB

    Posted: 06 Feb 2019 07:12 AM PST

Since most terminal emulators from Cydia do not work on rootlessJB, you can enable it using an AppStore SSH client. Here I used Termius. First jailbreak with the iSuperSU toggle on.

    https://i.imgur.com/jTNq34J.png

    Download Termius - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/termius-ssh-client/id549039908?mt=8

    https://i.imgur.com/J8tl9V2.png

Download it and open the app. Click the plus button and turn on "Use SSH" and make sure the port is 22. The hostname should be "127.0.0.1" without quotes. The username is root and the password is "alpine" by default.

    https://i.imgur.com/9zh6bRP.png

Make sure Termius is running in the background and open iSuperSU.

    https://i.imgur.com/ES0Tsty.png

Tap on ServerAuditor and select "All in one"

    https://i.imgur.com/qaGHFzg.png

Go back to Termius and tap on your local host.

    Profit!
