| Posted: 06 Feb 2019 03:30 PM PST Hi All, Have been using two Roku 3's for the past 3 years and I think they might be starting to show their age. The apps have been very glitchy by not having audio, force close back to the Roku screen or encounter errors within the apps. They will also show they lost internet connectivity when the WiFi/internet is working. One Roku is on WiFi and the other is Ethernet to the modem. My house is all Apple from iPads to iPhones to MacBooks. Are there any issues with apps or general issues to look out for on the Apple TV? [link] [comments]  |

| Apple TV has run out of space?? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 11:14 PM PST Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with both my Apple TV's where they seem to have run out of space for some weird reason. They are the 32GB models. I only have a handful of apps, and going into the storage setting they only seem to use a few GB's each. According to the Apple TV it's only got a few GB of free space left. Besides resetting the Apple TV, how can I clear out storage? I don't want to lose saved game content by doing this. Thanks [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 07 Feb 2019 12:32 AM PST I am currently streaming videos from my PC using the VLC app. I increased network cache to highest level but some videos buffer at times. Is VLC one of the better apps to use or is there a better app that allows more cache and more control? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 07 Feb 2019 12:30 AM PST Hi guys, I'm considering getting an Apple TV 4K, but I would definitely want to install Kodi on it. I know you can side-load it without jailbreaking, but that 7 day limit thing sounds like total BS, I want something permanent! Jailbreaking should be the solution, but I've been hearing mixed messages. Some say the jailbreak needs to be repeated after 7 days (just like side-loading) and some say you don't need to re-do it, but you can't update the system software. Which is correct? Also, I've heard that since the 4K has no USB port that you need a Mac to jailbreak it. Is this still the case, or is there a way around if you don't have a Mac? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 06 Feb 2019 09:52 AM PST I have an Apple TV 4K and a LG 65" C8 OLED Tv connected by a Belkin Ultra HDMI cable. Both are set to wake and sleep each other when I turn on/off the Apple TV. When I do this thru the included Apple TV remote, it puts the TV to sleep maybe 50% of the time, and when I use the Remote app on my phone, it never puts the TV to sleep. Any ideas? | Controlling Apple Music on the ATV by using Siri on my iPhone Posted: 06 Feb 2019 11:40 AM PST I've been trying to get this to work for the past few days. My ATV will play music (streaming directly through the app - so no AirPlay). When I use the Music app on my iPhone, or the Remote app, I can control the player on the ATV. When I use Siri (on my iPhone), it will accept the command (e.g. "skip"), but will immediately continue saying "Sorry, I can't do that in that app". The command will not be executed. The strange thing is, if I tell Siri to play a playlist on my ATV, it will work perfectly. I can then use things like "shuffle" and "skip" as well. However, after locking (and unlocking) my phone, the commands won't be accepted any longer. It's like it loses the ability to send the commands to my ATV after my phone's been locked. If it's any difference, I'm using the 4th gen 4k TV, and an iPhone XS, all with the latest updates. [link] [comments]  |
| Spectrum app On Apple TV 4 vs ATV 4k Posted: 06 Feb 2019 04:44 PM PST So, Spectrum recently enticed me into subscribing to their streaming tv service. Something I noticed that's kind of irritating though. On my ATV 4 when I swipe up to get the guide, it works perfectly, but on my 4K there's a pause where the screen goes black for a second when i swipe to get the guide. The guide comes up either way, but the lag on the 4K is frustrating when surfing through channels and sometimes causes missed or double button clicks. It seems weird that the older ATV works fine and the newer one has this problem. Understanding that the Spectrum app is kind of shit, any thoughts on correcting this or why it might be? | How do I cancel a subscription on Apple TV 2? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 06:39 PM PST I signed up for the CBS All Access sub on Sun to watch the superbowl and want to cancel now. I've tried everywhere in the ATV2 to find a place to cancel and I'm coming up empty. I tried logging into my apple account through a browser as well but there wasn't an option to manage subs (that I saw at least). Do I have to install iTunes just to cancel this sub? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 10:24 AM PST Hi, currently have my ATV linked via HDMI to a Samsung 55", birthday coming up soon and thinking of splurging on some add ons. Hue: I know, or think I know, I can get the smart bridge and control lighting in my lounge via Siri..fine. Is there any current way to get the ATV video on screen to sync the lighting or an additional Hue strip added to my tv? Audio: Looking to add some form of 5.1 system, maybe sound bar at the front and a sub and sats by my sofa, looking for some connection advice, I know kind of depends what equipment I end up getting but is it best to get something where my ATV goes via HDMI to the sound equipment then to the HDMI on the tv? Or...leave as is and get something I can hook up to the optical out/hdmi on the tv therefore providing audio from whatever devices are being used on the tv not just the atv? Guess the crux is, anyone using a Samsung + Apple TV + Audio system? How do you do it in your case? Thanks for any advice [link] [comments]  |
