Music app suddenly used 1 GB of data without any downloads? Posted: 22 Feb 2019 07:48 AM PST This happened this morning on my way to work. I haven't purchased our downloaded any new music or other files in months. I'm pretty sure I didn't even have the app open in the background. But I got an alert over nearing my data overage this morning and figured out it was coming from Music. I had a lot of similar data issues last week. I somehow went through >750 MB in about 5 minutes with the phone not being used and no downloads. That hit me with an overage fee. AT&T (my provider) is incredibly unhelpful in any of this and their only recommendation is to pay them for unlimited data. Since then, I downloaded DataFlow, which at least helps me track data use a little better. I also reset the cellular data in iOS settings so I can see what apps use data in the past few days. I also disabled data roaming on a lot of apps. Checking in Settings again this morning after the alert, Music had randomly went through 1.4 GB. Anyone have any insight into this or similar data issues? [link] [comments]
Turn off iMessage auto save photos Posted: 22 Feb 2019 06:13 AM PST After IOS 12, iMessage photos are autosaved. How do I turn this feature off? My camera roll is getting ridiculously filled up with random photos I'm taking for iMessage that I don't care to save. [link] [comments]

Phone Works, but Videos and Calls Don't at all Posted: 22 Feb 2019 04:26 AM PST I'm currently running on an iPhone X with iOS 12.1.1 beta 3 installed (Recently updated from 12.0.1 in an attempt to fix this specific problem). I've been waiting for a jailbreak for at least a year, so I'm hesitant to update past this. Recently my phone has had this issue where, system wide, no video media will load and I cannot make phone calls, Facetime calls, or receive said calls. I've searched google several times to see if there was any documentation on this, but I don't see any pathways for resolving these issues even through updates. [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Feb 2019 07:32 PM PST So I believe my icloud account was merged with another icloud account. I'm not sure if I should go into details but what happened is that I lost my phone at school the other day. I have erased my data before I get to open an email from my professor that he got my phone. Then when I tried to restore using icloud, it restored the data from another iphone/icloud but most of my pictures are still on it. It was the iphone borrowed around September where I signed in my icloud account into that phone. Is it possible that it I get the data from simply signing in my icloud account on another iphone? Sorry for my english. [link] [comments]

Is there a way to use your iPhone X as a remote to control your iPad Pro 11. Posted: 21 Feb 2019 07:05 PM PST For example iPad connected to TV and use iPhone to control it. I stay in hotels a bit for work and it would be nice to connect the iPad up and watch my cable tv app or Netflix [link] [comments]
[Question] Mail widget for lock screen? Posted: 21 Feb 2019 06:47 PM PST Hi. I'm going back to iOS after a stint in Android and I am too much used to have a widget that shows my last 20 mails received (one liners) without having to open mail app. I am aware of the mail app widget for VIP, but that doesn't solve my issue. I'd rather have a mini view of my inbox. I have been looking around for either a mail app with a widget that shows that info or a widget that can show that directly, but so far unlucky. Can anyone chime in with advice / experiences? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Feb 2019 06:39 PM PST Essentially I have a list of various quotes I want to be sent to me at certain intervals during the day. Very similar to the "Quote of the day" apps where the apps send you a push notification with a daily quote at a certain time. What I want to do is to load around 1,000 quotes, and to automatically receive push notifications at a certain time (8am for example). Where when I click on the notification, the app would load and I can view the quote, or click to view the next quote (in random order). Is there anything on the iOS ecosystem that will let me do that? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Feb 2019 05:18 PM PST I tested my charger on a friends phone. I tried using a friends charger. I checked the charging port for lint. I turned my phone on and off. Pressed power and home button what ever that was. Increasing the temperature of my phone. Changed my phone battery. My phone wont connect to my laptop. From this does this mean I need to replace my charging port? My working charger dont charge my phone. But my broke charger that I know that DOESNT work, has my phone saying it is charging. Best app to block unwanted spam calls? Posted: 21 Feb 2019 10:41 AM PST I did a search of this sub as well as all of Reddit and couldn't find too much input of what people think of the different apps and techniques available to block unwanted calls. I'm not talking about simply blocking one number of a crazy ex or something like that but instead the onslaught of robocalls, telemarketers, scams, etc. I get at least 5 a day. I paid the $4 a month for Robokiller and it seemed to block 90% if not more. It was definitely a much more peaceful time. I'm currently trying out Nomorobo for $2 a month after a 14 day trial. I definitely don't mind paying to not have my phone going off all day, wondering if its someone that actually needs to reach me, or just a scam. I am skeptical though of just how much I should trust each of these apps. In example, I wonder if by using them, they get my information and use it against me once I stop subscribing to make their service look even more needed and useful. Thoughts? Experiences? Recommendations? I had trouble knowing what exactly to search for to find already existing posts on this topic and therefor am going to add a bunch of related terms to help others find this in the future. call blocking, spam, spammers, caller ID, call identification, robocalls, unknown calls [link] [comments]
