Posted: 22 Feb 2019 10:30 AM PST As the title says, I got a little obsessed with the idea of starting a Streak a couple years ago... so I did. Today makes two years without a single missed Stand, Move or Exercise ring, and it feels pretty good. I started with a Series 0 watch, and a few months ago jumped up to a Series 4. Hope this helps someone else - with a little focus and a quasi-healthy dose of obsession, anyone can do it! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Feb 2019 04:14 PM PST These both seem like a basic parts of Bluetooth functionality that should be included on all systems, but I find it odd how macOS has support for a feature while iOS doesn't, and visa verse. [link] [comments] |

Cancelled AT&T iPhone X Case orders from two weeks ago: Promo Code Posted: 22 Feb 2019 09:06 AM PST If you participated in the scam led by AT&T, they sent out a promo code for cancelled orders. That promo code is USAVE Which saves you 30% off of regular priced cases only. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Feb 2019 11:47 AM PST So, now we can download photos in bulk from iCloud.com through a web browser (yay!). But I noticed a weird quirk... When I download a single HEIC image, it comes down converted to JPEG and at a reduced 1536x2048 resolution. But when I download the same image with others, it stays in its HEIC format and stays at 3024 by 4032 resolution. I post this kind of as a PSA, kind of to look for confirmation from others they're seeing this too. EDIT: Clarity that this downloading is from the iCloud.com website. [link] [comments] |

You can press Command + Shift + . (period) to show hidden files & folders on Mac Posted: 22 Feb 2019 09:14 AM PST Works on sierra (10.12) and higher. While at it, here's some more Finder tips
Why does apple hide these basic file management function away from finder and system settings with some obscure shortcuts? IDK [link] [comments] |

my iphone6s was stolen last weekend and now i got security alerts on my google account Posted: 22 Feb 2019 04:35 PM PST i acted fast, panicked, changed everything, removed my phone, etc but they keep sending phishing emails before this i enabled lost mode and added my instagram hoping somebody would contact. the thing is, they didn't assault me, they just slipped it out of my pocket when i was at the club now after so many failed attempts, they're contacting me on instagram saying their mother found a phone and to contact them at a number, also to reply to their emails what are they trying to achieve? i live in mexico, idk if it's dangerous or trying to give it back or scam me what scares me the most is my mother had asked me to send her pics of her credit cards and they might be there. help asap pls [link] [comments] |
Here's an another oldie but goodie. Macintosh PowerBook 180, works perfectly. Posted: 22 Feb 2019 10:14 AM PST Here is another oldie, but goodie hanging around. We still play with it all the time. https://imgur.com/a/lREo4Q5 [link] [comments] |
Tap video player with 2 fingers to speed up! Posted: 23 Feb 2019 02:31 AM PST TIL you can tap the video player in iOS with 2 fingers to speed up the video, or 3 fingers to slow down. But depends on the video source. I tried watching youtube through safari and it worked, but not Vimeo. [link] [comments] |
Scaled Resolution Impacts Ethernet Speed by 60% Posted: 22 Feb 2019 11:32 AM PST My Setup: MPB 2017, LG UHD Dispay, Apple Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, USB-C to HDMI Has anyone experienced that using a scaled resolution has a significant impact on ethernet speeds? I have 1Gbps connection, and when connected to my external monitor using a scaled resolution (3008 x 1692) my speeds drop from 1Gbps to 300 Mbps. Fully reproducible, and when switching to native 3840 x 2160 or even to 1080p the speed jumps back up to 1Gbps. Is this 'normal' behavior? [link] [comments] |
iPhone app that lets you sync with Computer? Posted: 23 Feb 2019 02:04 AM PST I use an iPhone and love making lists and such, I'd like to make a shopping list however I want to be able to access it on my PC (operated by windows - not apple). The closest thing I have to this is using google calendar however I am not able to access the tasks I have on my computer on my phone. Does anyone have any app recommendations? [link] [comments] |
