    Netflix app anytime soon?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 01:13 PM PST

Why do you think Netflix is not releasing an app for MacOS like it did for Windows where you will be able to download and watch offline content?

Anyway to show Touch Bar App Controls in certain apps only?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 10:04 PM PST

I know it's possible with the FN keys by setting up a shortcut in settings > Keyboard. However I want to have the app controls show up whenever I open up iTunes and such. Any way to accomplish this without BetterTouchTool?

Is there any way to make the top bar transparent (or the same color as the background) on macOS High Sierra?

Can't start new Mac Mini. Wants Migration Assistant, Freezes. Can't go into recovery.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 10:35 AM PST

I got a new Mac Mini, but can't start it. It wants to run Migration Assistant before anything else.

Friday, I tried running it from my existing Time Machine backup. It didn't allow me to select specific apps and folders and divide them between the Mac Mini's own drive and an external drive, or even just specify some for its own drive, so I had to drop almost everything and transfer almost nothing. It remained at 2 minutes remaining all day, and I cancelled so I could get some sleep that night.

Before getting to sleep, I copied several apps to the external drive and removed them from my old Mac. I copied several folders to the external drive, so I wouldn't have to run through Migration Assistant. I split some of my /library to a separate folder and transferred that folder to my external drive, so I wouldn't have to run that through either. I created a new Time Machine Backup after all this.

Saturday, I found that the Mac Mini didn't have enough remaining space to transfer anything. I couldn't access the recovery partition so my only option was to run migration assistant again, hoping to transfer nothing and then be able to recover. It remained at 2 minutes remaining all day, and I cancelled so I could get some sleep that night.

I can't leave it up all night. So that's not an option. Any idea what I can do?

[Question] I have a late 2011 MBP and after replacing the dvd rom drive with an SSD it started to slow down a lot. Would that be the problem?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 09:14 PM PST

I wanted to use that bay for windows and a Linux Distro. But since I replaced the bay my Mac seems to be slower. I have managed to install the Linux Distro without "any" problem. Just that when I restart the Mac it runs Linux and the only way to boot into Mac is by hold the alt+option key at restart. Is there an effective way to behave the 3 of them install without any issue? I want to install windows and Linux in the 2nd ssd. I am running MacOS Mojave.

    THAANK YOU!

    Can't format old Android Sd-Card

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 06:19 AM PST

Hey guys, so I've found an old sd card lying around. Based on the folders on the sd card I assume it was used on an old android smartphone but now I need to use it for something else. The Problem is, when I try to erase the card and use ExFat as format (currently its Fat32 on the card), nothing changes on the card. Disk Utility tells me that everything went fine and no error occured, but nothing on the card changes. The folders are still there the Format is the same.

Another weird thing is, when I try to delete the folders via the Finder, they are visually removed, but when I eject the card and insert it again the folders are shown again. Anyone got an idea why this is happening? I assume the problem is on the sd-card, but is there a thing I can do?

    I'm currently using Version 10.14

    Mojave Boot

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 04:26 PM PST

    Mojave Boot

Updated to mojave and now the bootup time takes much longer than usual. The loading bar gets to about 60%, then stops for about ten seconds, then proceeds. Ive tried resetting smc, pram, disk repair, safe mode, click startup disk, etc. Nothing solves it.

When I go into verbose mode, it does the same thing, and this is what it shows when it is stopped. Anyone know the issue?

    Mojave lock screen tool?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 09:22 AM PST

I saw a tool here or on one of the Mac related subreddits a while ago and I'm completely blanking on the name. Basically it let you remove the username/icon in the login screen leaving just the password field. I believe the password field acts like it does on a Linux terminal when typing a password among other features.

How do I stop getting it to tell me my icloud storage is full?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 11:38 AM PST

Every couple of days a message pops up saying my icloud storage is full and the only two option to click to make it go away are either manage or upgrade now, and I have to click one of them. It then opens up my icloud settings. Is there a way to make this go away? Thanks.
