Question for any IPad Artists out there Posted: 02 Jan 2019 11:54 AM PST So I was gifted a 6th gen iPad 32 gig over the holidays. The gift was meant for video and reading but I am very interested in using it for digital art. So everything I've read has been somewhat discouraging as it says I need the pro version. That's a lot of money to just try something I've never done prior. What kind of Software or Stylus would you recommend to someone on a plain old iPad just wanted to dip their toes in the hobby? Thanks in advance [link] [comments]

Best keyboard for iPad Pro 11" Posted: 02 Jan 2019 07:33 AM PST Hi, I am about to pull the trigger on an iPad Pro 11". Im looking for a keyboard to take with it when in class and other places. Is the Apple Keyboard Folio still the best option? [link] [comments]

Experience with mail send in repairs? iPad Pro 10.5 Posted: 02 Jan 2019 11:16 AM PST My iPad Pro has a dead pixel. It shows white everywhere and glows more than the rest. It's not that noticeable unless you search for it, or you are looking at that part of the screen. Nonetheless, I like my stuff being perfect and more when I payed a lot for an iPad. I have no nearby official Apple Stores here in Germany. The closest one is very far. My only option is send in mail. On their website it says that the type of service is a Product Replacement. But on the chat they said it depends on the technicians decision. Now there's that, my iPad is in perfect condition besides the stupid dead pixel. It has no dents, not even one scratch on the screen. I don't want it to be opened and get damaged on the metal bezel or something. How good was you experience with a send in repair? I just don't want it to get damaged and then getting excuses from apple saying, oh it was already there and stuff. [link] [comments]
iPad Pro 3 External Storage Help Posted: 02 Jan 2019 05:06 AM PST I know this question comes up a lot around the net, but the solutions I've seen aren't really applicable for my situation, so here I am. In any case, just got my shiny new iPad Pro, and I've run into a bit of an annoyance. I work in a biological research lab, and would love to use the tablet to replace my laptop while I'm there, as it's significantly more portable, even if I need to take a bluetooth keyboard along for the ride. My specific issue, however, is that there doesn't seem to be a straightforward way to interface with the USB C port with a storage device. I collect a lot of data directly from apparatuses via a thumb drive, commonly as photos, or other files that the iPad should be fine with managing/reading. I bought a SanDisk Dual USBA/USBC thumb drive, hoping I could format it so that it could, at the very least, be used to import photos to the tablet; the photos app does open up whenever I plug the USB C drive in, but I don't see the import interface -- is this a formatting issue (on the drive, or of the images themselves), or just not possible without one of those camera adapters at the moment? Perhaps there's just something else I need to set up to make it work? Seems like it's detecting *something* if the photo app opens up when the drive is plugged in. If it's not possible with the currently available SanDisk drives, are there any other alternatives? I'd really rather not have to go the roundabout way of emailing myself files from the Windows desktop in the office, or goodness forbid hauling both my laptop *and* my tablet to work, as I have an hour long commute, one way. Posted: 02 Jan 2019 02:22 AM PST I'm really wondering... I got my iPad Pro now since it came out, at the start there were only a hand full of apps ready for the new screen. I thought ok, they gonna catch up with it and so they did. At this point of time 90% of the app I use are optimized. BUT: Why are the only ones left to change their stuff the big companies like facebook or amazon. Their apps look crap on the new iPad, so i use them less. They do not seem to bother about it, since there where several updates for both apps in the past months. If anyone knows what „strategy" they go for please tell me. Which unoptimized app pisses you of the most? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jan 2019 01:40 PM PST Hi, I need something I can draw/sketch notes on that will work with my Dell XPS 9570. I was originally looking at a graphic tablet or similar but for the same sort of price I could get a new Ipad - which the review of the pen support seem very good. My question is how well this will interact with my windows 10 laptop? For example, if I create/edit an image on the ipad - how easy would it be to send it to the laptop? What I mean is say I use an app to edit an image on the Ipad - could I then connect the Ipad to my laptop to finalise it on a full version of photoshop or similar? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jan 2019 01:31 PM PST I Don't know if it's a faq but i've found anything on web. It happens on iPad Pro 2018 but also on an old iPad Air and now i'm able to replicate. Language: italian, i dunno if it happens also in other languages. If you start to write a phrase containing the char ' (very common in italian) and try to autocomplete it using one of any three suggestions the world will be truncated and next char will be on capital letter. Example: "il mio iPad e' l'unico tablet che mi piace". Now i'll try using autocomplete: "il mio iPad e l'u Tablet che mi piace". It seems that happens only when using Safari on a html form. so what's the deal with the new ipad pro's standby battery? Posted: 02 Jan 2019 01:27 PM PST that is, with the pencil attached seems like i hear it from both sides... some people say they're losing close to 20% a night, others say they lose 1-2% tops. Personally, I lose around 8-12% with it attached and almost none without it. The weird thing is that I briefly "fixed" it when I turned off bluetooth, restarted the ipad, and turned bluetooth back on. For like a day and a half my standby was great, then it went back to what it was and I haven't been able to fix it since. What's the deal? What's everyone else's experience? [link] [comments]
Apple Pencil 2 Pairing/Connection Issues Posted: 02 Jan 2019 01:14 PM PST My Apple Pencil used to work fine with my iPad Pro 11" but when I went to use it recently I got no responsiveness. After unpairing it will no longer pair and I will get a floating Apple Pencil notification for 1 minute. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this before I make a trip to the Genius Bar? Posted: 02 Jan 2019 01:01 PM PST Hi guys, just got a new iPad pro 2018 as an early birthday gift. Didn't know it didn't have a headphone jack. Can I use any USB-C to 3.5mm or does it specifically have to be the one being sold by Apple? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Any OfficeSuite users? Confused on the difference between Pro app and Personal/Premium... Posted: 02 Jan 2019 07:18 AM PST I've been looking for a good/cost effective app for opening and editing Microsoft office documents, including word/excel/PowerPoint. To me, OfficeSuite appears to be the best alternative to the Office365 membership. I'd rather pay $30/year for OfficeSuite than $99 for Office365. I'm only a little confused by their apps. I see an OfficeSuite Pro app for $20. This app appears to be a one time purchase. Then I see a free app with $30/year premium. Does anyone have experience with these apps and know which is the one to go with? $20 one time obviously sounds better i'm just honestly not sure the difference between the two. Thank you in advance! What's up with all the developers? Posted: 01 Jan 2019 02:20 PM PST I've come across multiple apps, one of which I believe 2/3 of all millennials use, being Spotify, that have not been updated to fit the new 11" screen of the new iPad Pro. Do you have similar problems with your apps, or do I have a specific, maybe odd selection of apps, that have inactive developers? [link] [comments]
Anybody using the Apple Magic Keyboard with their iPads? Do you recommend it? Posted: 01 Jan 2019 03:10 PM PST I've managed to completely smash the screen on my 9.7 Pro in a freak accident, and repairing the screen on my iPad would cost basically as much as a refurbished 9.7 Pro where I live, so I'm thinking that I might as well spend some extra cash to pick up the 10.5 Pro because they're starting to become really cheap now when buying used or refurbished. I'm trying to figure out what keyboard to get with it though, I'm not a fan of the smart cover keyboards because they're way too expensive for the typing experience you're getting and I already use a regular third party smart cover on my iPad. I've been thinking about getting the Logitech K380/480 keyboard, but the typing experience doesn't really look all that good on it, and I don't need the numpad on the K780 and it makes it way too big to use on the go. So getting the Apple Magic Keyboard seems like the best solution, and it can be recharged with USB. The main problem is that it's not particularly cheap either, but it seems like the best choice from a typing experience and build quality/durability standpoint. Does anybody else have any other suggestions? [link] [comments] |
