Pro tip. Put your iPad in do not disturb mode before presenting to the VP of your company. Posted: 17 Jan 2019 12:07 PM PST I was using keynote in a (lucky for me) informal meeting that could be important to my career. Notifications on them iPad were hidden from the tv, which was hooked up with the apple hdmi adapter. But then I got a phone call and the whole room started ringing. Otherwise it worked great! I present to the ceo and other executives in two weeks! [link] [comments]

How can i put photos and stuff directly to ipad on my pc? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 02:29 AM PST i bought a 2017 ipad pro 250Gb a while ago. it is my only apple device and ive never ownd an apple device before this. when i install iTunes it says "icloud is on" and that i can access photos through icloud only. it has storage but it forces me to put in photos through icloud. problem is i do not wish to pay for cloud service because i have 250 Gb storage. i have quite a lot of photos a lot more than 5 Gb free space granted to me. when i enter itunes and then inside "filesharing" section i cannot find photos app. the itunes version i have installed on my pc is 12.9.2.6 is there anyway for me to bypass the cloud service and just put my files in the ipad like any other device? Paper like makes my screen look awful - take it off? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 12:57 PM PST Any point keeping it on? I can't even notice the difference in writing quality. [link] [comments]
How does the iPad Pro 9.7 hold up in 2019? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 04:01 AM PST With it being a 3yr old device now, is there any noticeable lag? The A9X works great on my SE to the extent that I probably won't stop using it till a couple years after Apple stops supporting it. My biggest gripe would be apps reloading too frequently (and taking too long to load) when I reopen them from the app switcher (doesn't really happen on my SE even with 2GB RAM). I managed to find a good deal on a boxed 32GB iPad Pro 9.7 with case&cover included, original receipt and 80 battery cycles (~supposedly 93% capacity) for £250 on eBay (advertised with no scratches and Spigen tempered glass screen protector) which doesn't look too bad. It's difficult bc at this price I can also get a refurbished 2018 iPad 9.7 directly from Apple, or shell out another £150-200 for a used 10.5" (unless I'm wrong with the specs this doesn't seem like it's worth the price difference for me, looking at the marginal increase in CPU speed and display, 2x the RAM that I won't ever use?) I don't plan on doing any drawing, video editing or gaming, as a student it'll be lecture slides/textbook pdfs, spreadsheets and the occasional report writing (anything else I can just use my 2015 13" MBP) Maybe in the future I'll get the Apple Pencil (also how does it feel to use it on a 9.7 display?. I don't have any stores near me so it's impossible to try) [link] [comments]
iPad Pro 11 - right hand side of screen darker Posted: 17 Jan 2019 06:14 AM PST Hi, Does anyone else have a darker right hand side of their ipad when held in portrait mode? It particularly manifests in the top right hand corner. I found some other people discussing it here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/dark-area-in-top-right-corner.2153407/ Just wondering if this seemingly affects them all or if it is just part of the screen lottery or something. Thanks! [link] [comments]
GoodNotes 5: How to import from Dropbox and Google Drive Posted: 17 Jan 2019 06:55 AM PST I just got the update and I feel kind of silly but it took me about 3 hours to realize that other cloud storage could be used with GoodNotes 5. I'm sharing this in case anyone has the same question. You have to manually enable Dropbox and google Drive and it is no longer a given like it was in GoodNotes 4. Here's how you do it: If you are more of a visual person, here is a Link to some Screenshots
-A selection window will appear and the default is Files, press "Edit" in the top corner.
-You will then see the option to enable whichever cloud system you prefer. You can even disable "Files" and iCloud Drive which is what I did. -From that point on, the import selection will come from your chosen cloud storage. That includes images and documents. It isn't that hard but it is definitely not easy to find. Anyway, I hope this helps a few people out. [link] [comments]
iPad Pro 12.9 inch Hard Sleeves Posted: 17 Jan 2019 02:25 PM PST Any good recommendations on hard sleeves for the iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen? Looking for one so my iPad can be safe at school. [link] [comments]
Do most of you have all your Apps in the dock for convenience and keep your home screens empty? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 02:10 PM PST I find myself wanting to have ALL of my apps accessible from a swipe up in the dock. I think iOS would really benefit from re-imagining app management in iOS and focus it on the dock and let the home screen be for widgets or at least let us put the icons where ever we want to. It's annoying it have to adhere to the grid. [link] [comments]
How to open notifications as a slide over instead of switching app? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 06:18 AM PST Sometimes when I'm working on stuff and somebody messages me I ca tap the message and it would open a slide or of the messages app, but sometimes it doesn't? Is there anyway to make this behaviour constant? [link] [comments]

10.5 iPad Pro aggravates visual disability; will the 11 iPad Pro do the same thing? Help! Posted: 17 Jan 2019 11:28 AM PST tl;dr: I'm trying to find out Liquid Retina technical specs and any way the 2018 iPad Pro visually differs from the 2017 10.5. The 10.5 flares a nervous system disability and I don't know why. I'm not seeing a lot of hard data about the 2018 - just marketing fluff - and it's really frustrating. I want to buy a new iPad Pro, but the 10.5 reproducibly gives me photosensitivity and something like seasickness after a few days usage. It is tripping a nervous system condition I have called autonomic neuropathy, which, among other things, freaks out when I get "wrong input" such as synthetic flavours/preservatives or motion blur in video games or 3D as seen in movies or the 3DS. Figuring out what's up is often very difficult (imagine constantly troubleshooting your own body because SOMETHING IN THE WORLD IS WRONG) and it isn't helped by the lack of hard info about the 2018 Pro. Before this, I have not had device-specific issues (3D notwithstanding) and have used a lot of different screen tech. The problem is making me temporarily sensitive to store fluorescent lighting and LCDs and my plasma TV. Turning up warmth on all my screens has helped. It is somewhat like the motion sickness others have had with iPads and iPhones; it does not seem to be the eyestrain some get from flicker. Using green light and green tinted eyeglasses helps a ton (cf Harvard recommending green light therapy for migraine) so migraine is probably underlying, but, my usual FL-41 migraine relief glasses don't help. Any direction anybody can give would be so helpful. I'm stuck on an iPad 4 (10.3.3 - maybe iOS 12 has some idiot jiggle that's not helping?) and it... has served me well and needs to retire as a HomeKit hub. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Should I return my new 2018 iPad? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 11:10 AM PST Just got a new standard 128 gb 2018 iPad about 2 weeks ago for $350 as well as a 1st gen. $100 Apple Pencil . Would you return it and wait for the new one? Do you expect the new 10" to fall in the same price range? I'm happy with the 2018's performance so far but wonder if they up the RAM, processor, or screen for around the same price. [link] [comments]
How do you use Instagram app in landscape mode on iPad? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 11:04 AM PST Instagram only has portrait mode, is there anyway to view this app when I'm in landscape on iPad? Thanks [link] [comments]
Need video editing apps that work with iOS 9.3.5 Posted: 17 Jan 2019 10:39 AM PST Hey, I have an old iPad. I can't find any video editing apps that are compatible with this iPad. Either the apps are not compatible or they require iOS 10.0 or later. Help! iMovie-no LumaFusion-no Videoshop-no Filmmaker Pro Video Editor-no Splice-no any recommendations? [link] [comments]
Looking for sleeve which converts into a tablet stand Posted: 17 Jan 2019 03:17 AM PST Hi there, my old nexus 7 (2013) tablet is slowly dying and I always liked the simplicity of iOS tablets so I just bought an iPad 2018 9,7". For my Nexus 7 I currently have the Asus VersaSleeve 7 which I like a lot. Is there a similar sleeve/case for the iPad? I don't like cases where I'm forced to "strap" the iPad in. I'd like to use the iPad at home without any case and put it in a sleeve (which converts into a tablet stand) when I'm traveling. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Students who use notability, what's your study routine like? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 03:37 PM PST I'm loving my new iPad with the apple pencil and notability. I'm hoping it'll help me be a better student this semester, but I'm not sure how to make the best use of it yet. How long after your lectures do you go through your recording? Do you go through all your recordings or just the tricky stuff? What do you do while watching your recordings to stay focused? I would really love to hear your routine. [link] [comments]
Otter Box Defender Screen Protector Replacement Posted: 17 Jan 2019 08:14 AM PST I got an otter box defender case for my iPad Pro, I really don't like the cheap plastic screen protector, dirt gets under it, it's gets scratched easily and it's hard to clean. Now that I have a bunch of deep scratches on the protector, i think it's time to replace it. Have you guys tried glass screen protectors while having a defender case on? Any recommendations? Any Note taking app that can do a find and replace across notes? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 07:56 AM PST First off, I own all the major note taking apps. Goodnotes 4 and 5, Noteshelf2, Notability and Onenote. I have been trying to keep notes for a book I am writing with dozens of fantasy people, places, times, events, etc.. (Think Tolkien) and every once in a while, I will come up with a better name for a place or a person and I have to go back through hundreds of notes and correct prior text. I'm not looking for anything to do find and replace on handwritten notes, but I would pay good money for a note-taking app that will do a find and replace across notes for typed in text. None of the products listed above will do this. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]
Flash storage for iPad - encrypted drive? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 05:57 AM PST Has anyone had experience using flash media such as a hard drive to copy over photos and media like autocad files? The caveat is the flash media my company uses will only allow the iron key encrypted drives, which I don't believe apple has the ability to "unlock" before I can copy files. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
