Can you polish scratches out of the stainless steel link Apple band?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2019 07:08 AM PST

Just found a listing on eBay for the stainless steel link band for around 50 bucks. There are scratches. I was just wondering if scratches can be polished out of the band since it looks like it has a brushed finish instead of a shiny finish. Thanks!

    Help! AppleCare after purchase

    Posted: 13 Jan 2019 06:01 AM PST

Quick question: my boyfriend got me an iwatch series 4 for Christmas, but opted not to add AppleCare. I went into the store today and they told me I could buy it over the phone, as long as I'm within 60 days of purchase. They also mentioned that this process would include a remote diagnostic of the watch. Now, since I'm an extremely clumsy person I've already bumped and even dropped it a few times. My question is: will the remote diagnostic pick that up? What kind of damage can they detect (cracked screen? or only fundamental internal damage?)

Anyone's experience would be greatly appreciated!

With the Nano app, I no longer have to bring my phone with me to the bathroom. I can just browse Reddit on my watch.

Analytics Data - Coreduetd.cpu_ kills my battery

Analytics Data - Coreduetd.cpu_ kills my battery

I have updated to watch OS 5.1.2 recently and after that the battery of my Apple Watch 3 (LTE+GPS) is not enough for a single day's usage (comparing to 2 to 2.5 days in watch OS 5.0.1).

I have tried to reach Apple Support and Genius Bar for help and they said it passes all the diagnostics tests and I can only wait for next OS upgrade.

However, in the Analytics Data, I found some weird records about the Apple Watch which shows that there is a weird process taking a lot CPU usage occasionally. I have tried to reset as factory setting and erase all the data and set up as new but this problem still exists without 3rd party apps. It looks common in MacOS and can be solved easily. However, I have no idea how this related to Apple Watch. Any idea or solution on it?

    Finally Upgraded!!!

After four years of using the original Apple Watch, I've finally upgraded to the Series 4! The screen is so much bigger and apps don't take minutes to load. Couldn't be happier. What apps should I download to take advantage of the new hardware?

“Hey Siri, text my wife...” asking me to choose phone number or email address

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 03:25 PM PST

Every time I use Siri on my watch to text my wife I have to choose between her phone number and email address. When I use Siri on my phone it doesn't make me choose; it goes directly to her phone number. I've tried a lot of things, including making a new contact with just her phone number called "My Wife" but my phone is too smart and ends up combining them eventually. I'd like to avoid tapping my watch when using Siri since sometimes I'm in the car and don't like being distracted. Is there a way to convince my watch to act like my phone in this regard?

I’ve just been sitting on the couch! Is this normal? I did two ECGs after this and they were both inconclusive. I’ve had a bad cold, probably just that?

Started a job that doesn’t allow any jewelry, including watches. What features should I focus on?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 06:08 PM PST

Started working at a food factory and this rule is a precaution to keep things from falling into the product. Also, I don't think I would want to wear it anyways because I bang my wrists a lot building boxes.

Any AW owners have this kind of job? Maybe I'll start tracking my sleep, but I didn't see any free apps for that.

Maybe I can put the watch in my pocket and still track steps, but still makes me nervous since I get knocked around with tubs and carts through the shift. Might invest in some kind of case.

It's still worth keeping for me because I do running on Saturday mornings and like tracking my progress.

Can someone explain to me how to cellular AW works? Do I need another SIM card or how does it work? Is it worth the extra $?

Is the series 1 still worth it in whatever year it is?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 10:52 PM PST

so i've always wanted an apple watch but i don't wear watches really, so it's kinda hard to justify the $

anyways, i found a series 1 stainless with the stainless steel band for like $200, and a silver series 1 for $100. would it be worth it to buy one if these now?

if so, which should i go for? i really love stainless steel as a material, but i'm worried it'll look a little too grandpa-y

also what functionality would the watch not have?

edit: the stainless is an og apple watch, not a series 1. that's off the table because i do know that'll be too outdated

    Lifetime of an Apple Watch

Hey guys, just bought an Apple Watch S4. I'm really careful with it. What do you guys say the Average Lifetime of an Apple Watch is? And what is the max someone had had. Please comment the amount of year(s) & model.

    Chest Strap Attachment? (Read description)

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 02:45 PM PST

My sister-in-law just got an Apple Watch and wants to use it for kickboxing, however the bulkiness and location of the watch makes it difficult with gloves and hand wraps.

I'm wondering if there is an attachment anywhere for Apple Watch that would replace the wrist strap itself and allow you to strap the watch around your chest.

I know this may sound silly and AW may not monitor reliably there, but it was a topic of inquiry and I didn't see this product anywhere.

    Apple Watch for diabetics

I have read how Apple is attempting to create an Apple Watch that could test blood sugar for diabetics. Any recent updates on their efforts and/or progress?

I’m thinking about getting this Apple Watch, could someone that knows their stuff please try to verify that it’s legit?

Should I get series 3 or series 4. What are the MAJOR differences ?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2019 12:22 AM PST

I've found that using the Apple Watch (S4) while leaving the iPhone at home is perfectly fine.

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 05:56 AM PST

I lease my phones through T-Mobile. I got an iPhone so I could get an Apple Watch, but I wasn't a huge fan of the iPhone, and I wanted to go back to the Note 9.

So I purchased a used iPhone SE off eBay for $70. I keep the SE on WiFi only, and it stays connected to the Apple Watch via WiFi or Cellular when I'm not at home.

When I did this yesterday, I spent 8 hours at work connected to WiFi the whole time. I left with about 60% battery life, when I would normally have about 70% when connected via Bluetooth and I ended the day at 10PM with about 35%.

Because I have cellular, I get calls on my wrist and on my Note 9, and T-Mobile DIGITS lets me receive texts on both my Note 9 and AW. All my other notifications, like e-mail, Facebook, etc, come in with a couple seconds delay compared to the Note 9.

I love the fitness features of the Apple Watch. I can still sync my health data, and I still get little notifications if my wife starts a workout and I can see how she's doing.

So if there's anyone that's interested in getting an Apple Watch and using an Android phone, here's one way to do it.

I don’t mean to sound dumb but is the packaging for the Series 3 42mm aluminum different?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2019 07:28 PM PST

So I found an Apple Watch, unopened, in the box. (I work somewhere I can't say).

Made sure that the owners were contacted and they said they don't care, that whoever found it can keep it.

So I set everything up, went to YouTube to look at some videos of the watch, and everyone has a different style of box than mine. My box is long, and thin, and it doesn't open from the top, you have to slide it out of the sleeve.

It also didn't come with a power brick but came with the charger and paperwork.
