Camera’s “Preserve Settings” Broken Posted: 13 Jan 2019 08:03 AM PST I believe the Camera's Preserve Settings feature worked with iOS 12, possibly in 12.1, but it does not work in iOS 12.1.2. Anyone else experiencing this? The Live Photo's toggle remains on and working, but the Camera Mode is toggled off. It does whatever it wants whether toggled on or off. I want the camera mode to default to "Photo" every single time I open the Camera App. [link] [comments]
Help for not chronological camera roll iOS 12 Posted: 13 Jan 2019 07:23 AM PST Hello everybody! Im frustrated by how the photo app works and cant bring back my pictures in order. (The EXIF infos have correct recording date). I copied my pictures yesterday through iFunBox and backuped them on my PC. I restored my iPhone without backup because I had several problems. I readded the Pictures through iFunbox and deleted the Photos.sqlite, Photos.sqlite-wal, Photos.sqlite-shm Files successfully. After reopening the photos app every picture is visible but their complete messy. After that I followed this guide to customize the .sqlite file -> http://www.fireebok.com/resource/how-to-fix-when-camera-roll-photos-out-of-order-after-ios-update.html without success. Has anyone other tips for me to get this right? Alternative I will upload all pictures to onedrive and download them on my iPhone. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Dear Apple, you need to separate the sleep timer from the normal timer function somehow, please Posted: 13 Jan 2019 05:06 AM PST It baffles me that I haven't found anyone else complaining about this so far but to me it's really annoying that you need to specifically choose the sleep timer when using it. But worse than that, if the last timer you set was a sleep timer and now you tell Siri to put in a timer to remind you of something in a couple minutes and there is no music running, simply nothing happens. That's why the functions need to be separated, please Apple. [link] [comments]

Can app developers access my iCloud storage? Posted: 12 Jan 2019 06:24 PM PST I want to use a MacOS and IOS app that will have sensitive information and screenshots and the app offers iCloud based syncing. Is it possible for a scrupulous app developer to access my iCloud storage to read those files? [link] [comments]
Is Find Friends the end all be all or is something like Google Maps Location Sharing better? Posted: 13 Jan 2019 01:43 AM PST So yeah title. Reasons I'd rather not get into, going to be setting up 3 phones to have location sharing with each other, all iOS, is Find Friends the end all be all of this type of thing? Or is Google Maps better? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Normal amount of “System” storage in iOS 12 Posted: 12 Jan 2019 11:33 PM PST My iPhone is running out of space and in the settings I'm seeing 11+GB of System storage. This seems incredibly high. Is it? Or is there something going on on my phone. Thanks! [link] [comments]
[Workaround] Screen Time Device Name Posted: 12 Jan 2019 11:21 PM PST If you guys having issues with the device name being different from your About device name , you need to change it in the About settings . But here's the trick the Screen Time device name will only change to the last changed name and not the current . So what I do is your current device name in About settings put a space at the end and save it . [link] [comments]

Any way to change the number of columns on the iOS home screen? Posted: 12 Jan 2019 09:55 PM PST Is there any way to change from the default 4x5 icon grid homescreen, to something else, like a 5x6 or 5x5? I am thinking about switching to iPhone from Android. [link] [comments]
Why do people hate so much on apple devices? Posted: 12 Jan 2019 09:32 PM PST Within recent months, I have noticed how much attention has be brought up about Apple, as a predecessor to Android devices. I feel like I'm seeing more and more videos about people bashing apple for it's high prices and bad operating systems. I understand that people can have they personal preferences and opinions about the two brands, but going to the ends of the world to prove the others wrong, seems a bit extreme. I prefer Apple devices over android and windows, because I think they can be more practical, when it comes to mobility and general everyday tasks. Besides that, the eco-system makes it easier to share files with AirDrop and sends text with iMessage. They also update frequently, making it feel like you aren't missing out on anything. (I've changed iPhones often quite recently and a old iPhone 5 i setup, still felt new). The design of Apple devices also seem more premium, with glass backs and nice metallic finishes. When I'm attending school I also generally see that more people prefer Android devices nowadays, possible for the better specs for a cheaper price. In school, on multiple occasions, discussions have been brought up, where Android user's will defend their Android and windows devices, disregarding the pros of macs or iPhones. It has come to the point where you can be acknowledged as a 'idiot' for having such a 'useless' devices. Basically getting roasted for having anything Apple. Of course their opinion doesn't matter, when expressed like that. What are you're opinion on this topic? What makes them think like they do? [link] [comments]

Any way to markup ePub files in iBooks? Posted: 12 Jan 2019 07:22 PM PST I would love to make some annotations on some of the books I am reading right now but can only seem to do the traditional highlighting and notes. Is there some way of getting this functionality with ePub files? Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jan 2019 01:08 PM PST My Ipad is not connecting to the PC. I just connected my Ipad to PC this morning and everything was fine. However this night, PC saw the Ipad but the driver gave an error. I don't understand why it is not working. I tried everything on the Apple's site. My driver and Itunes are latest versions. My Ipad is an Ipad Air on IOS 11.3. My PC is Windows. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jan 2019 02:02 PM PST tl;dr: I am looking for a scanning app with OCR function that doesn't require internet connection I often keep all the receipts with Genius Scan that doesn't have OCR functionality. Soon, I will be on a trip where I will not have any internet connection. (Roaming is too expensive for me lol) Few years back, a lot of apps actually send data to their server for OCR processing. I am wondering if they have one that does OCR without sending a picture of document to their server. Thinking about between Readdle Scanner Pro and Scanbot; new recommendation would be awesome. Also, about a fax function from Scanbot, is it free? Or requires some sort of subscription? [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jan 2019 05:30 PM PST Because I have an older vehicle, the bluetooth capabilities are not very sophisticated. It's best, if I am listening to podcasts or music from my iPhone X over bluetooth (which I always do), to set my iPhone settings to Speaker On. To do so one goes to Settings > General > Accessibility > Call Audio Routing > and changes <Automatic> to <Speaker>. That way, if a call comes in when I am listening to a podcast, the car audio will mute, and the iPhone incoming audio will be routed the iPhone's speaker. However, my work has me in and out of the vehicle at least once or twice an hour and repeating all the abovementione steps over and over is really annoying, I found if I first open the iPhone I can have Siri open Accessibility settings but I still have to choose <Call Audio Routing > and change the settings back to <Automatic>. If you ask Siri to <Open Call Audio Routing>, it won't work. With the new Shortcuts in iOS 12, is there some way to automate all or part of this process? Can anyone think of another workaround? VIP Notifications in Third-Party Email Apps Posted: 12 Jan 2019 01:30 PM PST Both my personal and work email accounts use GApps. I get a lot of automated emails on my work inbox that aren't really things I need to look at immediately and I find it distracting to be notified of them constantly. I like the default mail app's VIP notifications but the default mail doesn't push for gmail unless you set it up using EAS. Unfortunately my employer will not allow EAS due to security policy. Are there any third party email apps that support VIP notifications? [link] [comments]
Anyone know of a way to turn a PC on with an app or something? Posted: 12 Jan 2019 04:21 PM PST Always wondered if I could turn my pc on before I got home so I wouldn't have to wait for it to load up and warm up. [link] [comments]
