I went to use the restroom and had my Apple Watch on Posted: 15 Jan 2019 10:53 PM PST As I finished up and went to shake it off, my Apple Watch told me that I've closed all my rings for that day and I couldn't help but burst out laughing. It's the little things guys. ❤️ [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 12:03 PM PST Just wanted to share a little experience I had that made me really, really appreciate my Apple Watch. I was working up in an attic space that had that fluffy type insulation all over the floor, and it was layered thick. Had taken my iPhone out of my pants pocket to take a picture of something, and stuck in back in my front jacket pocket. Finished up and headed back across to the exit, stooping under the support beams as I went. Got back out and nearly had a heart attack when I reached for my phone and it wasn't there. Quickly, I looked at my Watch and saw that is still had a connection, so there was hope. Hit the "Ping" button but didn't hear anything, so I went back into the attic, pinging as I went and finally started to hear the tone. Followed the sound and was able to locate my iPhone, which had totally disappeared into the insulation. The Watch definitely proved it's worth. Without it, I probably could have signed into iCloud and activated lost mode, but would have had to gone home and gotten my Mac, which would have taken a couple hours. Just thought it'd be worth sharing. The Watch is one of the more useful devices I've gotten in awhile. Edit: Phone was on silent, couldn't have called it. Learning all sorts of tricks on here! Glad to know you can activate Find My iPhone without Two-Factor. [link] [comments]
High heart rate notification when NOT inactive? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 07:55 AM PST I was reviewing my health data from last week and I see my heart rate went up to around 190 on friday of last week. It was a slow rise over the course of an hour. I didn't feel anything unusual at the time. I'm currently under a cardiologist's care for high heart rate. I looked at the high heart rate notifications on the watch and noticed that is says it will alert if I get a spike while inactive. I was not inactive, I was working under a car that was on jackstands so I was getting down and up repeatedly over the hour. Because of this, my heart rate crept up slowly and did not trigger a notification. At my age (mid 40s) I should not be at 190, even while exercising. I can't find a way to configure the heart app to alert for high heart rate that occurs during a period of activity. Am I missing something? I searched here but found nothing directly pertaining to my situation. Thanks [link] [comments]

Just joined the AW family. Must have paid apps? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 08:43 AM PST I have never owned or used a smart watch before and I have had my AW3 for less than 24 hours. I am curious to see what the best paid apps are. I have a 25$ App Store gift card and figured what better way to use it than new apps for my AW! Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Removal of minor scratch to coating of screen Posted: 16 Jan 2019 07:50 AM PST Can you safely buff out minor scratches to the screen on the S4 aluminium. The scratch is only noticeable under certain lighting conditions and you cannot tell it is there otherwise, it is not deep and I don't think it is a scratch to the actual glass. Question is, will you do any lasting damage by trying to buff this out.? I can live with this scratch and may get a screen protector to hide it rather than ruining a still perfectly good screen. Posted: 16 Jan 2019 07:06 AM PST Hi r/AppleWatch I wear my FitBit Charge 2 when playing football and I'd hate to break/scratch the Apple Watch if wearing that. But I'd also not like to lose the stats gathered from the workout. So can I sync an activity from my FitBit to the Apple Watch? I've read you can manually add activities but it looks like this will not add to the Exercise, Move, Stand rings. [link] [comments]

Any Pennies users out there noticing issues with 4-weekly recurring budgets? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 05:11 AM PST I have a number of 4 weekly recurring budgets but every 4 weeks it refreshes to only show a further 14 days with a random amount in the budget, it's not half of it. It's really annoying as each time I need to delete all budgets and start again from fresh meaning all my tags are removed and I need to start again. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Jan 2019 03:36 AM PST Where in the Target stores have you all found the bands on clearance? I can't find, much less any on clearance. I know it is hit or miss but I am going to be near one [link] [comments]
Does disabling background refresh worth it? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 02:35 AM PST Does it even do something? I don't use any of the complications, I prefer the clean-looking simple analog Watch face. Edit: I don't have battery problems btw. Brand new Series 3 42mm, without LTE. Lasts about 1,5 days. I use it mostly for workouts and texting [link] [comments]

Looking for a Polar-style app for guiding one's jogging pace Posted: 15 Jan 2019 11:10 PM PST While I was working abroad, my wife mailed me a Polar watch. (I forget the make and model.) It came with a wrist strap. I was able to configure the watch to beep at me in the event that my heart rate left the desired zone. One beep was for 'too high;' the other was for 'too low.' I'm looking for a similar app that runs on the Apple Watch without requiring me to bring my iPhone with me on my runs. DigiFit, Nike Running Club, and Runkeeper look good... but I've failed to find a way to make one of them beep at me to tell me to slow down/speed up. Is there an app that'll do that? If one of the apps listed above is capable of doing that, please let me know. I'll take another look at the manual and see what I can do. Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Apple Watch Charger - how much current does it pull when it's not charging a watch? Posted: 15 Jan 2019 03:02 PM PST Hi all. I want to charge my apple watch while I'm camping, and I have a 12000mAh battery pack. Does the apple watch charger pull current even when it's not charging a watch (I would expect it would, since it's inductive charging, and there must be at least some current to sense the watch to turn off the alternating magnetic field). Has anyone seen any specs or measured the current draw when there's no apple watch attached? Thanks [link] [comments]

Siri using “Raise to speak” finally started working!! (S4) Posted: 15 Jan 2019 12:28 PM PST Bought an S4 at launch, I've never been able to use "Raise to speak" to activate Siri. Siri would present itself, perfectly detect every word.... and then crash back to the watch-face. After months of sending feedback to Apple, like many of you, I kinda gave up on it. Until today! For the first time I raised my wrist, spoke, and to my surprise: Siri talked me back! I have now heard of successes from some of my friends as well. Anybody else here? [link] [comments] |
