Adorama Lied About Stock Posted: 02 Jan 2019 06:15 PM PST I purchased one of the new Vega 20 MacBook's on Adorama. It said they were in-stock before and after my purchase. Now, they're saying it could take 7-10 days for them to drop ship it from the manufacturer because it wasn't actually in-stock. New to macbook and have a few questions Posted: 02 Jan 2019 09:57 AM PST ​ I recently made the transition from Windows to MacOS with Macbook Pro 13'' 2017 and I just need to ask a few things, because I never had a laptop that expensive and I want to use it correctly and to the fullest, so : Should I use it like a phone - charge > plug out > use? Would using it while plugged in influence the battery life? I had a Windows laptop which had like 6-7 hours of battery life, but by using it while plugged in, that ended up being like 2 hours about an year after purchase. I read something that the Mac knows when it's plugged in and ignores the battery, but I want to make sure which is better for the laptop in the long term. Should I be worried when the laptop heats that something might melt? Again my Windows laptop used to heat up, but nothing ever happened. Of course it wasn't nearly as thin. I play dota 2 and I tried it on the Mac, it works fine, but the laptop heats a lot, so I wonder if there's anything to worry about there. Should I turn off the laptop or is it fine just closing the lid (leaving it on stand by) when I don't plan to use it for a few hours (going out or going to bed)? What I'm asking is - is it unhealthier for the Mac to be on stand by all the time without being completely turned off very often? Anything else that you know of, that I should be careful with? What can I do together with an iPhone? Today a got a call on my phone and I noticed the laptop got the call as well and I could've answered from there. Hey, I wanted to upgrade my mac book pros SSD because I needed more storage, I originally used an SSD my friend was going to replace his Surface Pro I check the SSD and it matched the size and everything. I backed up my mac and even booted it up using carbon copy but when I open my MacBook Pro I realized it was an M2 drive, so I went out and bought a drive but now I'm wondering how I will transfer my data over. I thought of doing the same carbon copy technique but I needed an M2 SATA cable to a USB cable which is crazy expensive.
