Umm I’m on iOS 12.1.2...
Identity unknown, so my uncle messaged me this image tonight asking me what this is on his iPhone XR.. I recognize it as the control panel symbol.. but have no idea why or how one would’ve gotten it on the screen. (Don’t have the XR myself, so I’m not sure.)

Bookmark sync between Safari and Chrome (PC) went wacky and I have hundreds of extra bookmarks. Trying to delete the extras but I can only figure out how to delete one at a time. Help!

Hide an iMessage conversation?

My SO of 2.5 years and I broke up recently, and I would like to hide the conversation so I don't have to keep looking at it, but I'm not ready to delete it. I know iMessages on Mac will keep the history even if you delete it from the app, but I am looking for a way to do that on my phone, or a way to delete it from my phone but be able to restore the history later if I want.

I would appreciate any help you could offer.

EDIT: Thank you all for being so kind. At essentially everyone's advice I decided to just delete them and move on. I do still think a native way to export or archive messages would be a good feature though. But in this case, as you all said, it's better to just rip the bandaid off.

I have tried nothx,lazarus but they're interface is the same and its not working. Theyre used to be nesstool from tutuapp and xtender from appvalley but now theyre gone. Does anybody know an anti revoke that works? Thanks!

App Recommendations?

I recently switched back to iOS after five years of Android. I need a good alarm clock app to replace Sleep as Android.

There is a specific feature on SaA that I really liked and I hope there is something similar on the App Store. You can set the app so when the alarm goes off, the only way to turn off the sound (in my case, very loud hardstyle from Spotify) is to scan a barcode with the camera, which I had attached to the wall of my bathroom, thus forcing me out of bed.

Is there an app with similar functionality?

it is so much easier to type doctors appointment in 3 weeks at 4. than is to type, then click and scroll, click and scroll.

C'mon!

It's especially worse when people are waiting on you to finish. then your just put under even more pressure to finish faster! And all of a sudden you start getting nervous because they are staring at you while you click and scroll! AAAAAAAGHHHHHHH!

Can anyone help me with Apple Music?

I just started the free trial for Apple Music. I'm trying Apple Music, Spotify Premium, and Amazon Music Unlimited to choose one of them as my main music players. I went through and downloaded a couple songs with it and made a playlist, but any time I try to play any song it just doesn't work. It says "Not Playing" unless I try to play a song I added to my itunes locally.

I'm already leaning toward Spotify because I get Hulu and Showtime for free with the plan, but I still want to test the other 2.

Also, I tried everything on this site to try to fix it but nothing worked.

Keyboard prediction bar not appearing in few places.

When I'm typing this post, I can see the prediction bar appearing on top of the keyboard, it appears when I'm typing a message in WhatsApp or iMessage. But it doesn't appear in safari when I'm typing in search bar, it doesn't appear in Subreddit search, it doesn't appear in Google Translator. This is pretty annoying since the prediction text is useless when you're searching for something.

I used Gboard for so long and never faced any issue.

Anyone have any idea ?

iPad won’t activate

After factory resetting my iPad mini 4, get an activation error. Not an error about the activation server.

It never asks my for my iCloud credentials. It just goes to the the screen in the attached photo.

Please help. PS. I tunes says the same thing, and never asks for iTunes credentials.

Add any app to control center

I understand the significance of the control center. I use it daily to set my alarm clock. I use it often to turn on the flashlight. The fact, that I can left swipe to take a picture, or answer the phone with .. my eyes closed .. using a piece of plastic covered with glass, in my pocket .. is mind blowing ..

I should not be allowed to send a Snapchat or post a Facebook update or tweet .. with a simple interaction with my phone .. a simple gesture .. and I post my inner thoughts - with everyone who cares to listen .. ?

Emphasis on your most used apps is fine adding them to the first "page" of your start screen after unlocking your device. But with the example of the camera, flashlight or alarm, being able to access a function or application with your eyes closed - is significant.

Still, I'd love to be able to add, like; the compass .. to the control center. Is it possible?

iCloud calendar only syncs one-way

Hi,

I am using the calendar app and sync between my iPhone and my MacBook via iCloud. This has worked for years, lately events I add or edit on my iPhone do not get synced with the iCloud (and thus the MacBook) any more. The other direction works instantly - if I add an event on the MacBook I immediately see it on the phone.

Not really sure what is happening. I already tried manually forcing a sync, restarting the phone, etc.

I read that turning calendar syncing on the phone off and on again could help. Not really sure whether to keep or delete the synced events on the phone though (I have made some changes, so I would rather keep those, but do not want to end up with all other events duplicated). Does anybody have any ideas/advice and/or knows, if when keeping the events on the phone when turning sync off and on will match these to their former sync partners and not generate duplicates?

Limit total screen time?

I know how to limit individual apps using parental controls and screen time, but is it possible to limit cumulative screen time? If I set every app for a limit of 1 hour, my kid can just switch apps after an hour and continue their screen time indefinitely. I would like everything to be blocked after a combined 1 hour of time. Thanks.
