Maybe I'm just a simple guy...but the Apple Watch unlocking my Macbook is such a nice feature! Posted: 29 Jan 2019 03:27 PM PST I'm sure this isn't a big feature or even one that hard to program, but the simplicity, speed, and natural feeling of the ecosystem really shines here. This and the AirPods easy connect features are the "magic" that I think more people would love to see! [link] [comments] |

iOS needs to support Xbox One and PS4 controllers Posted: 29 Jan 2019 12:16 PM PST A new patch for fortnite was announced allowing iOS and Android to use Bluetooth controllers. While android can use almost any bluetooth controller, iOS is limited to MFI. Why should I have to buy a special controller when I have a perfectly fine xbox one controller that has Bluetooth? Can we please compare iPhone prices in different countries honestly? Include sales tax! Posted: 30 Jan 2019 12:07 AM PST Every third post I look at I see people complaining how much more the iPhones cost in their countries than the base price in the USA. Almost every single of these posts/comments ignore the one basic thing: sales tax. The iPhone costs £999, which comes to $1300 US... But it also says:
Or some variation thereof. And you see that the real difference is less than $80 USD. Price difference for Australia, $65 USD. People want to whine and be outraged as if it is Apple ripping them off by a few hundred dollars, when the reality is it is the inclusion of sales tax that's making the biggest difference. iPhone prices are high - we all get that, but lets not paint a dishonest, disingenuous picture by willingly or unwittingly ignoring your country or state's sales taxes. Please take sales tax into account. /rant Thank you and have a nice day. [link] [comments] |

iPhone 11 May Get Cyclops Camera, 4000mAh Battery, USB-C Port Posted: 29 Jan 2019 05:00 AM PST |
Posted: 30 Jan 2019 12:35 AM PST I don't see a reason not to add these on the side of the phone. You flip the switch and you KNOW that no hacker, company, or person can listen to you or see you, then you flip the switch back when you feel comfortable or want to use the phone.. I personally still feel exposed even if the phone is turned off in my drawer ...any thoughts on how this could be a negative besides cost or design which shouldn't be affected in a bad way imo .. anyone agree that we should start demanding this because it's 2019? Edit: I'm talking on ALL devices. iPad MacBook iPhone iPod touch and HomePod .and Apple TV if it has a mic Edit 2: I guess the company purism already does this with their laptop and smartphone Edit 3: last thing I wanted to add. This may sound paranoid but this is tech and no matter how advanced it is there seems to always be bugs and some don't get found out until it's too late [link] [comments] |
I just learned a keyboard shortcut for emojis (Mac OS) Posted: 29 Jan 2019 10:22 PM PST Hit: Control - Command - Spacebar It pulls up a menu with all the emojis and a ton of special symbols and characters that you can use anywhere you're typing! You can even search for what emoji or symbol you want, and sort by category too! I had no idea you could do that on a Mac! Edit: I just learned via the Google that you can also add the emoji thing as a shortcut in the menu bar (if you're like me and always forget shortcuts). Just go to System Preferences > and check off the box that says "Show keyboard and emoji viewer in Menu Bar", you'll have a little box in the top menu bar to pull up emojis and stuff whenever you want. 😎🤗🤡 [link] [comments] |

[Feature Request] iMessages Effects Send message as silent. Posted: 29 Jan 2019 10:38 PM PST Situation: You want to let someone know you're home but it's late, their phone might be on ring, and you don't want to wake them up. [link] [comments] |
