Where can I get third party wallpapers that are of the quality of the default MacOS wallpapers? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 09:44 AM PST I love the default MacOS wallpapers, but sometimes I like to change it up for the sake of change. The issue is, a lot of times, the pictures are just not the same. Of course, the default MacOS are optimized for the Macs, so it makes sense, but I was wondering if anybody has a source that gives you images that look just as good as the default ones on your Mac. Posted: 02 Dec 2018 08:26 PM PST Wondering if they happened to put Batch Change from iPhotos back into the Photos app. Haven't seen any release notes regarding changes to Photos but I was hoping to see it come back. [link] [comments]

What was so good about OS X Snow Leopard? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 12:51 PM PST I've read from multiple people that 10.6 was one of the best, if not the best OS X releases there have been but I've never understood why. Could somebody explain this to me? I never got to use Snow Leopard. [link] [comments]
10.8.5 to current OS, possible?? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 01:19 PM PST My wife's laptop (Macbook Air) is currently running 10.8.5. I finally cleaned up some of the storage space on her HD (250GB) so that there are roughly 50GB available now. I was hoping I could go to the AppStore and update the OS to Mojave with a single click, but the AppStore on her computer is telling me that no updates are available. Is a 10.8.5 to current OS leap even possible? Or should we look at getting a new laptop for her. Thanks! [link] [comments]

How do I reduce the storage space taken up by 'System'? Posted: 02 Dec 2018 03:07 AM PST My system is taking up a whopping 58gb, I'd really like to know how I can minimise this. Any ideas? EDIT: Thanks a lot for the help guys, what I did to resolve the issue and get rid of quite a big chunk of this is that I went to the /Users/Username/Library/Application Support folder and found a lot of data and caches that were there from apps that I've even uninstalled months ago but hundreds of megabytes and in one case 27gb of their data was still there so I moved them to bin and deleted them. Thanks for all the advice :). [link] [comments]
Photos show up taking up space on both internal storage and secondary hard drive Posted: 02 Dec 2018 06:47 AM PST I have a mid-2011 Mac with MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6. It has 250gb internal flash storage and a 2tb hard drive installed internally. It has a 300gb photo library stored on the hard drive. However, in the storage manager, it shows up as taking up space on both drives (It even shows the whole 294gb photo library taking up space on the only 250gb internal storage), but when I go the the photo library directory in the built in storage, the "Photos library" file shows up as only 100mb, while the one on the external drive shows up as the full 294gb. Is this just a glitch with the macs storage analyzer, and if so how could I fix it? https://i.redd.it/6y20g8xqkv121.png Photos on internal storage https://i.redd.it/xm2chsjtkv121.png Photos on External storage https://i.redd.it/m1qoo82wkv121.png Internal drive storage manager https://i.redd.it/9ubngxjykv121.png Photos Library file on external storage https://i.redd.it/89mbc8y1lv121.png Photos library file on internal storage [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2018 07:49 AM PST Enjoying Mojave so far but I have come across something which doesn't seem to work The new 64bit DVD player is nice and all but I can't find a 'Preferences' menu. This is an issue as I can't change the sound output to specify that it uses the digital optical out. On the old DVD player, I had to change the selection so that 5.1 surround sound was sent to my receiver. I can't seem to do that on this new version. The system is set up to use optical out but for some reason I have alsways had to go the extra stem of setting this on DVD player itself. I had a go at using VLC instead and 5.1 is working but VLC has annoying gaps between chapters. Can anyone point me in the direction of a solutions? [link] [comments]

Mac OS says there is not enough space, when there is Posted: 02 Dec 2018 06:44 AM PST Specs: iMac late 2012, 1tb HDD, 8GB ram, intel i5 running Mojave Problem: Trying to copy all the data from my internal HDD to my external SSD. According to disk utility, finder, and clean my mac X, I have only 190GB of files on my HDD, and none on my SSD(256gb). Formatted the SSD to APFS in disk utility, and used the 'restore' option to restore all the data from the HDD to my SSD... Have tried a few times now and reformatted a few times, but it always gets to 'validating sizes' and then tells me there is not enough space to restore, (OSStatus error 28). I have checked, and there are no purgeable files. Any help would me much appreciated. Thanks [link] [comments]
How do I get rid of the "You have forced X to quit" message Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:57 AM PST Here is what I am talking about: https://i.stack.imgur.com/5T5Uu.png I am really tired of seeing this redundant message almost every time I force a program to quit. I get it. I force quit the program, so no need to bother me again by giving me another message that I have to respond to which delays what I'm currently doing. It's really annoying. Sending the report to Apple does like nothing. I do not want to see this message on my Mac again. Is there any way to like make it disappear for good? (No I don't have Python this is just an example of how the error message looks like) [link] [comments] |
