This crow I'm eating tastes pretty good. Posted: 29 Dec 2018 04:31 PM PST I've been a die-hard Android fanboy from day one. I've owned dozens of devices over the years, going back to the original HTC G1, have rooted nearly every one of them, and have ardently and sometimes smugly touted Android's superiority to anyone who would listen. However, I just got hearing aids for the first time, and as Android has no native support yet, I decided to bite the bullet and jump ship to an XS Max. I figured I'd really miss custom launchers, icon packs, and Xposed modules, but that I'd deal with it until Android contained native hearing aid support. But holy shit, I'm on day two with my iPhone and I don't know if I'll be able to go back. Android may do some things better, but the iPhone is the most polished experience I've ever had. This thing is sexy as hell and everything just works. And group FaceTime is brilliant. I guess I just wanted to put this out there as a way to apologise to the iPhone community for the years of bashing. I get it now. Fuck. [link] [comments]
Apple should allow for Video and 911 call at the same time. Posted: 30 Dec 2018 06:53 AM PST Apple should allow for Video and 911 call at the same time. Imagine if someone is attacking someone else and you need to document who the aggressor is. Imagine a woman being harassed by her husband and the cops come by and they ask did he touch you, and the women says no he yelled at me and there's no proof of the severity because she was on the 911 call. Using Belkin Boost Up Wireless Charging Pad 7.5W with iPhone? Posted: 30 Dec 2018 06:07 AM PST According to Amazon, Belkin Boost Up Wireless Charging Pad 7.5W is 23% off. Have you used this wireless charger with iPhone? If yes, please share your reviews. [link] [comments]
Wireless Charging for My Watch and Phone Posted: 30 Dec 2018 08:49 AM PST I just got my XR today and was wondering if there was a good combo watch and phone wireless charger that i could invest in. Any feedback with brands would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]
[Question]How much can you get for an iPhone 7 256GB and an iPhone 6s 16GB Posted: 30 Dec 2018 06:57 AM PST I would like to know how much can you get for an Jet Black 256GB iPhone 7 and an Space Gray 16GB iPhone 6s if you were to sell them. The 6s is in Perfect conditions, the battery capacity is only 95%, but the iPhone 7 has some scratches on the back and one on the front, and the battery capacity is 82%. How much do you think they are worth? [link] [comments]
Why doesn’t the youtube app support 1440p? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 08:43 PM PST I know this isn't a codec issue because safari on Mac supports 1440p over h.264 which is is the limit of h.264. But according to the video stats menu on a HDR video (which used about 100-120 Mbps according to my router) YouTube decided to use the vp9 codec which in chrome (on windows and MacOS) I've seen support 8k60 video. So why is 1440p not supported? The bandwidth is obviously there to support it and now that the iPhone X/XS/Max are breaking 1080p why can't we use the full capability of our $1000+ smartphone. I can't say anything about the iPad as I don't have an iPad but I believe it's the same story [link] [comments]
Need a iPhone XS folio card case Posted: 30 Dec 2018 10:05 AM PST I picked up a leather case but it doesn't have a option to carry my credit cards. The other folio apple seems seems to be targeted towards the elderly maybe, it carries the cards but also looks like a leather book. Does any brand retail a high quality leather folio that is slim and sleek? [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Dec 2018 07:50 AM PST So I just realized you can create email aliases for the icloud email. I thought this would be nice to have a dedicated "junk" address, but is there any way to trigger that specific address to where it's active but I don't have to see it all the time? Basically wanting an address that I can access if I need, but don't want to see all the junk mail everytime I'm trying to read through important mail. [link] [comments]
What’s going on with the Weekly App Discovery Posts? Posted: 30 Dec 2018 05:19 AM PST I know I'm able to search for it but most of the posts in the last few weeks are empty. Personally, I like checking in on Friday's to see what new apps this subreddit recommends. If App Discovery is dying, where do you guys find new apps? YouTubers? Other subreddits? Switched to the XR, thank you!! Posted: 29 Dec 2018 12:24 PM PST So I just traded in my 6s for the XR and I'm so in love! Thanks to everyone who's posted on this sub with their thoughts on the XR, which really helped me decide. I love it and so glad I made the switch! :) [link] [comments]
Auto-Brightness Sporadically Not Working? Posted: 30 Dec 2018 06:26 AM PST Hello, I recently purchased a new XR and noticed the auto-brightness setting sporadically doesn't function properly. For example, I'll move from a well-lit room to a dark room and the screen brightness doesn't adjust. I'll even occasionally get notifications in the battery dashboard that the screen brightness is too high. If I toggle the setting on and off it usually corrects itself temporarily only to return a day or two later. Any idea what the issue could be? Software? Faulty sensor? Something else? Anyone else experienced this? Phone works flawlessly otherwise and I'm not sure this is something I could replicate if I bring it to the Apple store because it's sporadic. Thanks much for the input. Found a lost Iphone X, how to give back? - Think owner remotely reset it. Posted: 29 Dec 2018 08:42 PM PST Found the phone in a tourist spot, its usual that the owner calls to the lost phone to find out if someone can give it back, but in this case i never received a call, after a couple of hours, i picked the phone, saw the apple logo for some minutes, and the phone was wiped; im now in the "select language" screen, so apparently the owner remotely clear the phone. Now i cant imagine a way to contact him, the sim is foreign, and as the phone is wiped, i dont have hopes on receiving a recovery message or something like that, any clues on how to proceed? Whatever happened to "turn to hangup/silence" feature since iOS 7/8 Posted: 29 Dec 2018 10:16 PM PST I'm using an iPhone X on iOS 12 and noticed that the turn to hangup/silence feature isn't there anymore. It's not like I've noticed this just now, just that I made a point about it now. Now, I do know that clicking on the "down" volume button silences the call. However, look at this example - I'm at work, my phone is at my desk facing upwards and I get a call. At the very same moment, a colleague of mine approaches me. I don't want him to see who's calling me, and I flip my phone. It should silence my phone, but now, I also have to press the volume down key in addition. [link] [comments]

iPhone 5S not doing anything when a text is received. Posted: 30 Dec 2018 09:02 AM PST Hi all, Recently my grandma got a new phone, an iPhone 5S. It's an upgrade from her old android that crapped out on her. Anyway, she's having a problem that's leaving even me dumbfounded, and I'm not sure what to do. When she gets texts, the phone doesn't do anything. No vibrations, no text sound, no nothing. It won't even show up on the lock screen, it'll just have a 1 on the messages app. Before you say it's do not disturb, it's not. I checked a million times and it is definitely off. It's not scheduled to turn on at any time either. She always has her ringer on, and uses a ringtone for when she gets texts so you would definitely hear it, but that doesn't happen. Volume is all the way up (ringer too). I also checked her contacts in messages and none of them have "do not disturb" on either. It gets even weirder because sometimes the messages she gets do make a sound and light up her screen. I sent her 1 message and her phone does nothing. I send another one 5 mins later and it rings. Any help would be great so she doesn't throw away her phone and go back to using a flip phone or something [link] [comments] |
