Use Face ID on apps but disable lockscreen lock? Posted: 25 Dec 2018 03:39 PM PST Hello, I'd like to use Face ID instead of inputting passwords for some apps like my banking app. However, I want my lockscreen to be unlockable by just swiping up; I don't want to use a passcode or Face ID to unlock my phone, I'd rather keep it unsecured. Is it possible to use Face ID exclusively on apps while allowing the lockscreen to be unlocked by anyone (ie no passcode or Face ID required)? [link] [comments] |
Anyone have luck recovering old text msgs Posted: 25 Dec 2018 08:22 PM PST My iphone6 recently crapped out. Phone is on but screen won't come on. Messages were not stored on the cloud but I would like to get some texts moved over to my new phone. Worst part is my phone was encrypted bc of work apps installed and I can't remember my passcode bc I changed it the night before it stopped working. Anyone ever had any luck contacted your provider to get text messages? [link] [comments] |
I get "Message failed to send" when I try to send a location from Iphone to android. Posted: 25 Dec 2018 06:12 PM PST To reproduce: Go to maps, choose a location, hit share, choose message, choose a contact, hit send. 5 seconds later, I get "Message failed to send". Sending from iPhone SE ios 12.1.2 to Moto e4, Android 7.1.1. Kinda frustrating that this takes effort to do, on android this is no problem at all :/ [link] [comments] |
Recovering Data from Permanently Disabled iPhone 6s Posted: 25 Dec 2018 01:16 PM PST My iPhone 6s is permanently disabled and I would like to recover photos/as much data as possible. I have never backed the phone up on a computer, and the iCloud backups I have aren't too recent. I was told by the Apple Store that my only option is to wipe the phone and lose my data. However, from what I understand, third-party software like PhoneRescue claims to be able to pull the data directly off my phone onto a computer. Unfortunately, activating this software costs $50. Does anyone have any experience using this software? Or, better yet, recommendations on how to recover data from my iPhone as cheaply and effectively as possible? I'd appreciate any help. Green line on iPhone X display Posted: 25 Dec 2018 03:44 PM PST I have a green line on the left side of my iPhone X display. Unfortunately, I'm exactly one month over my warranty as I got the iPhone on launch day. Would this still be covered or will I have to pay out of pocket to get this repaired? HELP [link] [comments] |
