Posted: 29 Dec 2018 09:33 AM PST How fucked am I in terms of someone else/Apple getting their hands on my data? The phone was passcode locked and had "find my iPhone" disabled. I had an iTunes backup for my new device. so that's not an issue. I'm just concerned about apple/third party having access to my data on my old phone since it wasn't wiped. Thoughts? The technician didn't ask me to wipe my phone and my dumb ass forgot to ask when they did the exchange. [link] [comments]

iPhone Safari: Persistent redirecting to a scam site Posted: 29 Dec 2018 06:36 AM PST I have company issued iPhone 8, moved my stuff from old iPhone few weeks ago. I use it extensively, but nothing unusual or special. However, I recently found that Safari on my iPhone acts funny. When going to certain websites [ facebook, foxnews, ... ] it redirects me to some stupid scam site "win $1000 gift - for comcast users" I can't see original website I was forwarded from. What is causing it? What kind of malware is it? Does it persist in system, in user space or only in that given tab? I am unable to get rid of it. Please advise. I searched and so far there was only advice to delete various settings like bookmarks, favorites etc, with little explanation what and why and how it is supposed to help. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Dec 2018 02:39 AM PST I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but with my iPhone 6s, one particular brand of headphones changes volume when the plug is rotated in the headphone jack. Other headphones all work fine with my phone, and the headphones resulting in the issue work fine in all other apple devices that I have tried them in. I even got a new pair brand new to try which resulted in the same issue. I'm at a loss as to what could be the issue, it seems like such a strange issue, and any help would be greatly appreciated. Posted: 29 Dec 2018 09:26 AM PST If that doesn't make sense; 1. I don't need my phone deciding it needs to connect to WiFi. 2.I do not want to continuously look at that nearby WiFi tab and click the button.

Posted: 29 Dec 2018 03:11 AM PST I posted a week or so back asking about the xr. I'd pretty much made up my mind to switch from android to Apple by getting the xr. Yesterday I walked into the store was abkut to ask for a black xr when I saw they were still selling the x. And it's only £50 more expensive than the xr. From what I can see the x is running the a11 chip but apart from that it's basically the same as the xs. Should I get the x over the xr? What would you guys do? [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Dec 2018 04:56 AM PST Hi all, Long term android user switching to iphone here. All is smooth so far (dare I say, buttery?) but for one snag: I seem unable to find the perfect alarm clock app? I have very real getting up in the morning issues which improved loads by using the 'sleep as android' app. Now I am looking for something similar on IOS. There's many threads to be found on this issue all over the internet, yet these focus mostly on SaA's sleep tracking and wearable's functionality which happen to not be the features that I am most hooked on. What I miss most are the following features:
I'm aware of alarm apps that have one or two of some of these options (especially puzzle/captcha/shaking alarms) but other options I seem unable to find (especially the starting with vibrating only). Does anyone know any apps that does the vibrating at first thing or combines two or more of the options on my request list? (or is anyone, by any chance, an amazing programmer?) A couple questions before buying an iPhone SE Posted: 29 Dec 2018 10:20 AM PST I used to be quite knowledgeable about iPhone fixes/unlocks/etc. around the 3GS/4 era, but haven't really done a whole lot with iPhones since then (I ducked out right around the time iCloud locks started being a thing) and I think a lot has changed, so I just wanted to double-check a few things here first. I'm about to get an iPhone SE. I don't intend to ever use it with a carrier, basically just to use it as a much nicer iPod Touch. The one I'm looking at is locked to AT&T, which should be fine (since I'm not wanting to use it with a different carrier or anything), but how will activation work? I've seen a few different things, some saying that I can just activate it through iTunes without a SIM card, some saying I should just get a SIM card to activate it (but not get a plan), some that I need a plan to activate it at all. So which is it? I'm not looking to unlock it (unless that's the best way to do it), just activate it without having to get a plan or, hopefully, a SIM card that I'll never use. I'd prefer to get the one that's AT&T locked (because it's a pretty good deal for 64GB worth of music storage), but there are a bunch of others (32GB mostly) in the same price bracket that are locked to Tracfone/Straight Talk/T-Mobile/etc. Are any of those carriers easier to unlock without a SIM card, if it wouldn't work for AT&T? Thanks for any help you can give. edit: I should probably clarify, the phones I'm looking at are pre-owned. Clean ESNs and no iCloud lock or anything, just locked to a certain carrier. Some Album artwork is blurry on my iphone, but only on certain screens, any help? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 10:20 AM PST As the title says, some album art appears extremely blurry, but only when it's in "full screen" mode on the song playing (when navigating to the song, album artwork appears fine and not blurry, same with the album art when you reduce the current playing song to a tab on the bottom of the screen. Apple support has been no help, and has not responded to any of the forum posts I've seen discussing this issue. Anyone got any help? Art appears fine in Itunes and I have tried syncing, btw.
