Games you hope get ported to iOS

    Posted: 29 Dec 2018 08:04 AM PST

2018 was a pretty great year for ports. What do you guys hope will get ported to iOS in 2019? For me, my #1 would have to be Slay the Spire.

Was “New Games We Love” removed from the AppStore?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2018 07:30 AM PST

What gives? This is the only remaining way to find new apps and games that might be pretty good since touch arcade kinda went downhill.

    Polar Run V1 Official Release!

    Posted: 29 Dec 2018 09:15 AM PST

    Hi guys!

Polar Run has been my personal project for the past year. It's a game for people to enjoy during the holidays. It's a cute, fun, and challenging game made for people to forget about problems, hardships, and focus on helping their penguin escape. Polar Run offers different customization items, and power up upgrades for the user to change the way their penguin looks. They can share their score with friends or look at the global leaderboard. The app also offers challenges with rewards. The artwork of the game is unique and friendly. It's very easy on the eyes and drawn to make the user feel the holiday spirit. The gameplay is simple, with three main controls. Tap to jump, drag to swim, and two fingers tap to slide on the ice. The gameplay and controls were made as simple and intuitive as possible for any user to pick up the game and automatically know how to play. The game UI is also as minimalistic as possible. With simple buttons, and easy to navigate menu. I would love to receive feedback on it, and for everyone to try it!

    Games with Multiple Character Customization?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 11:01 PM PST

Are there any F2P games where you can customize multiple characters? Something like The Sims Freeplay or some Kairosoft games where you can customize a lot of characters.

Are any of the PC ports better on IPad than PC?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 08:57 PM PST

I just got a new IPad and I was looking at picking up a few games (yeah I missed the sale, but I'm still looking at stuff), most of the ones I'm looking at are ports from PC: Stardew Valley, FTL, Darkest Dungeon, Civ 6, etc. So I'm wondering if any of these are actually better on the iPad. I have all of these on PC and I enjoy all of them, but I haven't played a ton of most of them.

This is my first iPad so I only have a couple games from a previous iPhone that I had a few years ago, so I'm excited to be getting a couple of these games!

Can anyone recommend a game similar to KOTOR?

Cribbage with Grandpas ($2.99) is a pretty fun app.

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 11:21 AM PST

No ads, it's straightforward and pretty endearing. You create your own grandpas and you can "call" them on your phone to play. There's different personality types you can apply to them and a couple of sliders for skill level and how talkative they are. It's a great way to learn cribbage or just play it.

    Star Wars

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 06:21 PM PST

I wish there were some decent SW games still on the App Store. Don't really understand galaxy of heroes.

Kotor is amazing, but I've played it through several times.

I loved Tiny Death Star, but it's gone. :(

Need games that won’t get old after binging them

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 04:47 PM PST

Admittedly, I have ADHD so I hyperfocus and then lose interest quickly. But I'm looking for games with no IAPs/timers/cooldowns/whatever that have enough options to give them really high replay value. I'm happy to pay for games but I want to be kept interested!

I mostly prefer sims/management/rpg type stuff. My favorite games growing up were Pokémon, Creaturez (that's an old one!), Princess Maker, The Sims, Cooking Mama, Harvest Moon, etc. Plus all of those early aughties internet gems like Diner Dash, Insaniquarium (or whatever), etc.

Disclaimer: I already have Stardew Valley on my PC. Not interested in putting it on my iPad as well. But I'm open to similar stuff!

    Old iOS block linking game?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 06:40 PM PST

Years ago on my iPhone 4 I played a game where you linked floating moving colored blocks together and 'threw' them into the middle of the screen to get rid of them. You could only link blocks of the same color and if you touched another block you lost. It had combos and crap... does anybody remember what the heck that game was called from that admittedly sparse description? I don't see anything that looks familiar in my downloaded app history....

Xcom Enemy within - is it worth it if I already played through EU and currently playing Xcom 2 War of the Chosen on PC?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2018 08:40 PM PST

I've always loved the Xcom games. I have EU on iOS and played through the game before they removed it from the App Store and now only EW exists. Thing is, I'm playing Xcom 2 on PC and enjoying it. I'm about to go on a long trip and need some entertainment and was wondering if anyone has gone from xcom 2 back to xcom EW on iOS for the portable experience and if they enjoyed it?

I never played EW before, only EU, so I understand the differences are mostly in extra equipment and cosmetic, but still, thought I'd ask people's opinions. Thanks.
