    iPhone X videos not playing

    Posted: 23 Dec 2018 08:39 PM PST

I was on iOS 11.4.1 and suddenly videos won't play, my sound doesn't work, vibration/haptic stops and every time I try to play music or a video it freezes not that app. I dfu reset it to iOS 12.1.1 but it still happens sometimes. I've been able to get rid of it by restarting and hard restarting over and over until it works again, but I'm not sure the cause. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys

iPhone 7 plus restarts every 5 or less minutes

Checked logs and has many many many many Panic-full errors after every restart. Pretty sure it's a hardware issue. But what part of the logic board??

    Phones with Bad ESN?

    Posted: 23 Dec 2018 11:46 AM PST

I'm trying to buy an iPhone 8 Plus and seems like phones with bad ESNs go cheaper. My question is , how does this whole bad ESN thing work? I'm buying from eBay America, but I mainly live in the Caribbean. I read that once it isn't an American Cell Company, that the phone will work with a bad ESN. Can anyone confirm this for me?

How accurate is Coconut Battery? Aka my mother's iPhone 5S is a zombie

    Posted: 23 Dec 2018 08:30 AM PST

Recently my mum complained about her battery being terrible, I initially chalked that up to the cold outside temps and her using it more for calls in the holiday season till I witnessed a Low Battery warning during a Skype-call with her phone dropping from 60 something to 18%. I mean yeah the 5S is already 4 years and 4 months old but this was a bit much. I remembered the OSX app Coconut Battery, fired my Mac up and connected her iPhone and I was honestly shocked:

    Cycle Count: 547

    Battery health: 26.4%

    Capacity 411 mAh

For comparison I plugged it my 6S:

    Cycle Count 210

    Battery Health 90%

Which seems about right since I pushed the 6S battery quite hard shortly after I got it a year and half ago due to me getting quite ill at the time and heavily using my phone on the charger.

I'm mid-contract and she doesn't want a new phone so I'll just buy myself an Android device and hand her my 6S but my question is, can this data be anywhere accurate? Based on the behavior of her phone I don't doubt it much but what could have caused such a devastating battery degradation? I used it for two years before I gave it to my mum and while I played a fair bit of games with the 5S she is a very light user only ever calling, texting and using it to read the news so nothing she did could have severe effects on the battery and I read a iPhone battery is supposed to only be roughly at 80% health after around 500 cycles.

PS: I know I could go to Apple and get it replaced but since I apparently missed the "battery replacement for 20 bucks" period I won't blow 80-100 bucks on a 4 year old phone. And as much as I would like to replace the battery myself with an iFixIt toolkit I have serious doubt that I'll be able to manage that without breaking the phone.

What does 'deleting' your podcasts in this section actually mean?

    Posted: 23 Dec 2018 03:27 AM PST

How to get to what I mean: Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage [under the 'Storage' section not the 'iCloud Storage'] > Podcasts > [press 'Edit' and 'Show All', and then you see get this screenshot].
