I have 2 iPad 3rd generations that I want to sell. Are they even worth anything anymore? Posted: 28 Dec 2018 10:39 AM PST I bought a new ipad for my dad and he had two old ones, so I figured i'd sell the old ones. Are they worth anything? [link] [comments]
What charger should I have for the 2nd Gen iPad Pro 12.9" Posted: 28 Dec 2018 09:08 AM PST I just got the 2nd Gen iPad Pro 12.9". It came with a 12W charger. I've noticed that it's taking a longer time to charge than my previous iPad Air 2 (10W charger), which made sense to me since the new one has more battery. I'm not satisfied though. I'm wondering if there's another charger out there that can safely charge the iPad Pro. [link] [comments]
Reviving an ipad2 as a note taking device Posted: 28 Dec 2018 03:20 AM PST Hey guys! I managed to get an old ipad2, which came with ios 9, and it looks like goodnotes can run on this thing. Much like the title says, I was thinking of using it to take notes, but I've never used a stylus, or anything. I'm trying to get an idea of the caveats of trying to do so. Apparently, only the Apple pen has (real) Palm rejection, but goodnotes has software palm rejection built in, and supposedly works with any stylus properly. So if what they claim is true, I should be able to get just about any pen and be able to write decent enough? Edit: Also, suggestions about other note taking apps that would work on ios9 are welcome! Posted: 28 Dec 2018 11:53 AM PST I have a 61W Macbook Pro power adapter and a 2018 iPad. If I used a USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter to charge the iPad would it charge the iPad faster? Or would it cause damage? [link] [comments]
Buying a new charger and cables for 2018 Pro Posted: 28 Dec 2018 05:14 AM PST Well, I left my brand new iPad charger and cable back home during the holidays. Seeing as it would take a while to get back, and that I use my iPad for work, investing in more chargers seems like the brighter idea. However, this new USBc thing and fear of buying the wrong thing has me really confused. I can go to the Apple store and buy a cable and 18w charger for $50. However, is there a way to save money on this ordeal? Could I just buy the USBc cable from Apple and use an older 12w charging block from Apple? I just don't want to run into any issues using off brand cables or the wrong bricks that won't actually charge the device. Because buying just a cable would feel really nice on my wallet. Or if I could find a cheaper/better investment brick somewhere else. Any recommendations would be appreciated! [link] [comments]
Weird Issue with Two iPad Pro 11's: t, b, y, and g keys don't work reliably Posted: 28 Dec 2018 02:04 PM PST Posting as a separate thread because I'm trying to find out if anyone else has this issue, not necessarily get help with it. It's driving me absolutely insane. Bought an 11-inch iPad Pro on launch day, loved everything about it, but quickly noticed an issue that I think might be more widespread than it is but not known as much because it only shows up if you're a "type a lot in portrait orientation" user. I have keyboard haptics and sounds on. I type fast and well with my thumbs. But I quickly noticed that the t key in particular, but also the keys right around it, don't reliably enter when typed. What's weird is, the haptic fires, the sound is made, and the goddamned key turns grey on the keyboard, but it does not actually get entered into whatever text field I'm in. Happens like 40-50% of the time, which is infuriating. So I opened a ticket with Apple on this; they suggested a wipe and set up as new, which is annoying, but sure, tried it. Problem persisted. Took it in to the fruit stand and showed the guy the issue and he said "yeah, that's not normal". What's weird here is that when he opened Settings to look at something, the screen jittered like somebody was scrolling it down even though nobody was touching it. This seems to have convinced him further that it was broken somehow, but honestly I did not see that ever happen before to me on that iPad nor on its replacement. He swapped it out right away, even though I was out of the 14 day return window, which I appreciated. However, my replacement iPad has the exact same goddamned problem. T's, B's, G's and Y's, in that order, tend to just not enter tons of times. I'm going nuts because googling doesn't show anybody else having this issue, and the idea that I somehow got the only two iPads that have this bug is crazy-making. I don't think it's a screen defect per se because it will also happen if I turn orientation lock off and use it in portrait with the camera on the bottom and the keyboard therefore on the other side of the screen. Has ANYBODY ELSE had this issue?!?!?! I'm going to take it back in to the fruit stand next week (huge pain in the ass, but don't really have a choice, I'm not keeping a thousand-dollar tablet with this issue) but I can't believe this isn't wider-spread. Problem with selecting text in PDFs in Liquid Text Posted: 28 Dec 2018 05:29 AM PST I just got an iPad (6th gen) and the pencil. Downloaded Liquid Text. It seemed great, worked perfectly with the sample they included. But when I started to use my own PDFs (downloaded from JSTOR, a large academic resource), it seems it can't select or highlight text properly - instead of selecting a line, it selects the bottom/top half, and then misses words out. It's like the alignment is off or something? Any ideas if this is a common problem? Any alternative apps for annotating PDFs? [link] [comments]
Are these New iPad Pros Bent? Apple won’t exchange them. Posted: 27 Dec 2018 10:09 PM PST I took my New iPad Pro 3rd Gen 256gb WiFi + Cellular to the Apple Store to exchange because it is bent. They replaced it a few days later with another iPad Pro, which was bent even more than the original. Now, Apple has refused to exchange the device for one that isn't bent. What should I do? Screen face down can still see light from screen Edit: https://vimeo.com/308512911 Upvote for visibility! [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Dec 2018 12:51 AM PST I have an Ipad Pro 10.5 which I love and used this past semester, however next semester I am traveling abroad. Was wondering if anyone else here just brought an ipad abroad and worked on that. I have a 15" MBPr but it's large and bulky.. the universities do have computers but obviously they won't be open 24/7 [link] [comments]
Best calendar/reminder/to do list app? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 07:16 PM PST Hey all. I'm trying to work on my time management, along with managing my family's day to day routine of activities, chores, etc. I'm looking for a calendar app that's easy to use and fully functional that'll I can set reminders and appointments in and associate them with each family member. Preferably one that works across multiple iOS devices. Any recommendations? [link] [comments]
zagg tempered glass protector and otterbox defender for ipad pro 10.5? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 09:00 PM PST hi folks, i ordered an otterbox defender case for a family member, to protect their new ipad pro 10.5. My loving family member sometimes has accidents with technology, so i hoped to help protect the new gift. In the past, with the full shell case like an otterbox, i've taken out the plastic screen protector and used a tempered glass screen with pretty good success. Can anyone recommend a good tempered glass protector that works well with an otterbox defender for an ipad pro 10.5? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Leaving Evernote — Suggestions? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 02:55 PM PST I just got the iPad Pro and I'm aware this isn't specific to the iPad but I'd like to get a new note taking app that isn't Evernote, and an iPad app is a must. Organization is the main necessity. I'd love something that simply has a directory style organization. For example a "Work" folder & a "Personal" folder, each with multiple sub categories. Does anything like this exist? I don't need the fancy drawing capabilities but don't mind them. Thanks! [link] [comments]
What is the best time to buy an ipad? Posted: 27 Dec 2018 10:03 PM PST My ipad just broke because I spilled water on it and I need a new one for school. I know that last summer (or was it the one before) they had a sale where you got free beats for buying a mac or an ipad. I was wondering if there will be (or if there usually is) any deal like that anytime between now and around the start of next semester (so maybe mid jan-feb), or should I just get a new one now? Thank you for advice! [link] [comments] |
