| Best $300 to $800 AV Receiver to pair with my new Apple TV 4k & Xbox One X? Posted: 24 Dec 2018 01:24 PM PST I recently upgraded my setup with a new Vizio Quantum tv, Apple TV and Xbox One X, however, I completely forgot about needing to upgrade my 10+ year old AV receiver in order to take advantage of my new devices. My receiver obviously can't handle the newer HDMI specs (I think it's way back in the HDMI 1.1 range?) so I'm now trying to figure out what receiver I should get to take advantage of the new abilities of my devices. Are there any good receivers in the $300 to $800 price point that you'd recommend that can take advantage of everything my Apple TV 4k and Xbox One X can throw at it (and pass all that to my tv and 5.1 speakers)? | Posted: 24 Dec 2018 09:18 PM PST I'm curious if there is a way to set a sleep timer while streaming with settings, app, shortcut on phone, etc. Or even remotes like Harmony. I have a bad habit of falling asleep while watching tv which means my unit could be streaming for many hours. This is really bad because my current ISP has data limits. I've tried using the TV sleep timer (CEC) but it doesn't shut off the ATV4 but when the ATV sleeps from inactivity it shuts the tv off. Sorry if this is a common question. The Xbox does both. I have tried both of the inputs on the projector and looked into the setting on the ATV and I'm stuck. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 24 Dec 2018 10:47 AM PST I have an Apple TV 4K & a 4K Sceptre 43 inch tv I got from Amazon. When I try & watch shows on Hulu & Netflix, a white static starts to appear over the image and it blinks in and out. I called sceptre and they said it could be a problem with the internet connection or the Apple TV box. Can someone point in the right direction of what it could be? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 24 Dec 2018 08:46 AM PST AppleTV 4K connected to LG B7. So at random times without handling the hardware remote or the remote app on iPhone, the Apple TV just turns itself on, which in turn, turns the TV on. Aside from wasting power, it's especially annoying when I'm listening to music through my sound bar, because the music stops as the TV takes over as the primary output. I've disabled background app refresh and it still happens. I don't want to disable CEC because that's half the joy of having an AppleTV and it's worked fine in the past. I want to say it's either the YouTube TV app doing this or the latest update. Am I missing anything? [link] [comments]  |
