Clear Safari cache only on one device? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 03:47 AM PST Can I clear my Safari cache only on my iPad (iOS 9) without affecting the history/browsing data on my other iOS devices? When pressing Clear history and Website data, I am prompted with a warning saying that History will be cleared from devices signed in to my iCloud account. I don't want that, I only want to erase it on my iPad since, hopefully, it'll move a bit faster (it's an iPad 3 from 2012) [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Dec 2018 07:23 AM PST I feel like it's going to be a dumb question but my friend has been having some doubts when setting on Increase Contrast? Does it drain your battery more than when you have the option off? [link] [comments]
How do I have a banner display over YouTube video on iPhone? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 07:21 AM PST I listen to audiobooks on YouTube in the car (I don't have Bluetooth) but I use maps often. Siri speaks right over the video without pausing or silencing the video. I want to put her on silent (which I know how to do) and just have a banner with the next turn show up when I need to turn. Banners are turned on, but they don't show up while I'm driving. Yes, Do Not Disturb is turned off. [link] [comments]

Is there a way to change the alert time for Calendar events Posted: 28 Dec 2018 10:22 PM PST On Mac, I can change the time that I get an alert if I choose "1 day before" as my alert. On iOS, this defaults to alerting me at 9 AM and I can't change the time that I get this alert. Is there a way for me to change this on iOS or am I stuck with 9AM? [link] [comments]
[QUESTION] Double touching the home button does something. Posted: 29 Dec 2018 01:32 AM PST Double tapping (not pressing, just touching) the home button on my iPhone 8 on iOS 12 shrinks the current screen and makes a blank area up top bringing the current screen down. Can anyone explain me what is the use of this? [link] [comments]
How to increase battery life on iPhone? Posted: 28 Dec 2018 04:42 PM PST I have recently bought iPhone 6 and used for 6 months, now battery doesn't last long enough like it used to (upto 2 days) and iPhone battery health is 100%. Anything I can do to increase battery life span? Thank you! [link] [comments]

Option to Return to First Home Page? Posted: 28 Dec 2018 05:46 PM PST I used to have an Android, and one of the small options I liked was that when I hit the home button from any app, I'd always return to the first/leftmost home page. Is there a similar option for iOS 12? Googling led to some unhelpful hints, like telling me to to hit the home button, but while I'm already on some home page instead of in an app. [link] [comments]
Trying to find the best solution to my complicated Email notification needs Posted: 28 Dec 2018 09:20 PM PST Hey everyone, I don't know how else to get the advice I need other than to be specific, so this might get long. I have one personal Gmail account for all my personal emails and then I have a work email that is on Outlook. My personal email notifications are basically handled by Gmail labels/filters, I have about a dozen filters that catch most of my incoming emails and categorize them for me, and basically the ones I want notifications for go to my inbox and the ones I don't skip the inbox entirely and get archived under their label (using gmail's filters). For work, I basically have 3 categories of emails. My superiors, my coworkers, and automated alarm messages/service requests. The only rule I have setup through Outlook is to put the automated alarms in their own folder, so my inbox just contains emails from actual people, and automated alarms are seperated out. While I'm physically at work, each of these categories need to be pushed as instant notifications. While I'm away from work, I only want emails from my superiors to push as notifications, I don't care about alarms when I'm not at work. I'm trying a few different methods to figure out what works best/easiest. Right now I'm trying to use stock iOS mail app connected to both my gmail and outlook accounts. I have my superiors saved as my only "VIPs" so I can leave VIP notifications on all the time, so I'll always get their emails pushed to my phone. I have my previously mentioned outlook "Alarms" folder as a "favorite" folder in the ios mail app. So basically, I just toggle the notification setting for favorite folders On when I'm at work and off when I'm away from work. This has been easiest way I have found to get what I want. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I was thinking about trying out the Outlook app to see if there's a way I can manipulate the "Focused" and "Other" sections to get what I want without a whole lot of button presses when I get to and leave from work. Or maybe it would be easier just to have seperate mail apps for my work email and personal email. Complicating things is that I also have an apple watch that I basically want to mirror this on. A problem I ahd when experimenting with the Outlook app is that I couldn't find a way on the Outlook watch app to get to my "Alarms" subfolder". The stock mail app allows me to open this folder but the outlook app seems to only show your regular inbox. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2018 07:25 PM PST Why is that I can change the App icon using Apollo on iOS and it does so immediatetely but I have not found any app eg weather or calendar (other than apple) which have app icons which provide live information e.g. the current weather/date/type of notification? Are developers not allowed to? [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Dec 2018 11:04 PM PST If I'm on iOS 12.1.1 and go to the apple store asked them to replace it because it's cracked and also ask for a new phone because I want to change the colour to see if I can get a new phone 12.1 - 12.0. Have apple care 🤩 Edit: Anything I can do to increase my chances of getting in that software range even tho it's probably very high as is? Edit 2: if I said the screen flickers will they replace it or do I have to break the back glass xD Reposted because got taken down original: https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/aabraf/question_good_or_bad_idea/?st=JQ94EPLY&sh=1bc776bf [link] [comments]
Restoring makes iPads and iPhones so much faster Posted: 28 Dec 2018 05:04 PM PST I had to do a restore on my iPad, and after it was done it felt like a brand new device. Super fast, not a single bit of lag. I then decided to put everything back manually and not from a backup because I loved the speed improvements so much. Did the same for my iPhone, so much faster. So if your iPhone/iPad is slow, do a restore through iTunes and it will feel brand new. [link] [comments]

Who is responsible for serving in game add? Posted: 28 Dec 2018 04:31 PM PST I'm noticing lots of unhelpful, age-inappropriate ads in F2P kids' games. I know I can step up to ad free, but I'd like to learn more about who controls this. Does Apple serve the ads? Do they control which ads land in which games? Is it the developer? Another third party? Any jailbreak/tweak for the latest iPod Nano Posted: 28 Dec 2018 07:21 PM PST
Posted: 28 Dec 2018 03:09 PM PST So a week ago i switched to IOS, left my good 'ol Android and got a Xsmax. Currently i'm really enjoying this phone but i recently bumped in to a problem. Whenever i charge my phone it doesn't seem to start charging at all. I did some research and i found the charge-gate problem. It says that when you update to the latest iOS version it should be solved. But the charge-gate is still there. Could someone please help me with this problem ? Thank you. [link] [comments] |
