Apple Maps updated for Southern California - more detail added Posted: 29 Dec 2018 05:20 PM PST Just opened Apple Maps and noticed that it has been updated with the new detailing for all of California. Previously it was only Northern California that has been updated. However - not active on every device yet it seems. My partner did not yet receive the updated version. [link] [comments]

Downgrade to 12.1.1. without a backup? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 02:10 PM PST I've been having a ton of celular issues since I upgraded to 12.1.2. I have an ipsw file of 12.1.1 for my phone (XS Max) but no backup, is there any way of downgrading without erasing my phone, as I know a backup of 12.1.2 will not be compatible after I downgrade? Thanks [link] [comments]
Restore from iPhone 8 (iOS 12.1.2) to iPad (iOS 12.1.1) as backup? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 08:52 PM PST I have an iPhone 8 currently running iOS 12.1.2 which I have customized to my liking over the years. I recently received an iPad as a hand-me-down, which I have updated to iOS 12.1.1, the most updated version possible, as 12.1.2 is not compatible with iPads. I would like to figure out the most efficient way to transfer my personal data, applications, application preferences, etc. from my phone to the iPad. I am unable to restore backups from my iCloud as the backups available are from iOS 12.1.2 and are not compatible with the iPad. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Dec 2018 05:44 PM PST So recently I reset my old iPhone 6. After the reset was complete, it asked me to "press the home button to continue." Which I can't because it is not working and I only have been using the assistive touch. Now I can't get past through it. Any idea how I could continue without the home button? Or at least magically summon the almighty assistive touch? Edit: Fixed by restarting the phone which got me to the beginning of the setup already without the need to press the home button. Posted: 29 Dec 2018 11:23 PM PST I've added an entire year's schedule to a shared iCloud calendar. This created 529 notifications in everyone's inbox. I'm tempted to visit each person's phone and manually hit "OK" on each of the 529 notifications in their inbox but my thumb can't handle doing that 3703 times. Does anyone know how to clear all items in the Calendar inbox? Everyone is using the latest iOS on iPhone 6s'. I did try searching Google and Reddit but I wasn't able to find anything. Posted: 29 Dec 2018 08:12 AM PST Bought an iPad and I'd like to know if there are some free latex editor that works on iOS. I found out VerbTex, but I noticed that there exists a pro version of it so I think that it has some painful limitation. Now to compile on my iPad I am using Overleaf, however I would like to have an editor that works with Dropbox so that I can commute to as many device as I want without logging everytime into Overleaf (of which clearly I am using a free version). So..Which iOS Design is Best to You? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 07:24 PM PST I was thinking about this today. When I opened my drawer of iPhones after upgrading to the 6s Plus, I put my old 6 away with my other iPhones, and I got to using them a little bit, one of them (an iPhone 4 on iOS 6.) caught my attention, and had me using it again for a few minutes to an hour. I started to compare it to my 6s Plus on iOS 12 and I thought to myself how much I love and miss the design of the classic iOS experience. And so I ask you guys...would you use iOS if it went back to its skeuomorphic design?? We've adapted to this flat design, and it does look nice, but do you prefer it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Dec 2018 08:31 AM PST Was wondering if anyone knew of a way to transfer playlists over from Spotify to Apple Music? I'm curious to try it and see if it's a better platform. Along those lines, what are your opinions on Apple Music vs Spotify? Thanks! [link] [comments]

[QUESTION] Football Scores App for iOS? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 10:21 AM PST Any suggestions of the best football app for my iPhone 8? I want the app to quietly deliver me notifications of scores and table updates for leagues and my favorite teams. I used to have OneFootball on my Android and it was good. I noticed OF is in App Store too. Just wanted to know any other better suggestion. [link] [comments]
YouTube Bluetooth audio lag, Netflix no lag? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 02:49 PM PST Hi all, Got some new Bluetooth headphones. The pros outweigh the cons for my uses. However, YouTube has serious audio lag. Like a poorly dubbed movie. Strangely Netflix does not, literally not even noticeable. iPhone 6+ Soundcore (Anker) spirit pro headphones IOS 10.3.3 YouTube app just updated (no difference before or after update) Netflix 11.3.0 Streaming over high speed wifi (have not tested mobile data but don't use YouTube over data anyway) Assuming Netflix uses a different audio codec or something to that affect. Any possible fixes or suggestions? I'm hesitant to update IOS as my phone is snappy and perfect otherwise. And again why would Netflix work well if iOS was the issue. Cheers! [link] [comments]

iPhone 6s Plus overheating and now stuck on the Apple screen, suggestions? Posted: 29 Dec 2018 01:45 PM PST As of yesterday my iPhone 6S Plus started overheating. I could use it for about five minutes, then I would just get the 'your phone is too hot' screen. Then I could use it, and would get that again when it gets too hot. The battery is also draining ridiculously quickly (I assume because its so hot.) - I had the battery app and apparently my battery is working 90% to its capacity, so I don't think its battery related? That is until a few hours ago, where it is just stuck on the screen with the apple. I've tried pressing home and off, and its still stuck. I've not updated it recently or anything. I did drop it pretty badly yesterday before this happened, but continued to use it for like 8 hours after that before this problem developed. Phone is a year old. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
