Kingdom Rush Vengeance: greedy IAP Posted: 22 Nov 2018 01:06 AM PST There is already a post on the release of kingdom rush vengeance. But I think this deserves some extra visibility. The game allows you to unlock towers. Before each level, you have to make a choice which towers to use. This allows you to combine their mechanics for different play styles. There is a total of 16 towers, but only 11 of them are freely accessible. The remaining 5 have to be unlocked with real money. Previous kingdom rush games had IAP purchases, too: - Heroes, they look cool but are mostly just a small boost to your defense. - Items, they are consumables that can make a level easier. Both were definitely not necessary. The game was well-balanced (on the hard side) and you could argue that buying items or a stronger hero was just the expensive way to dial the difficulty down. Now you have to spend money on towers. As opposed to heroes, the towers are a core part of the gameplay. Your hero is mostly just moved into position and then does its thing. The towers are a strategic decision. And I think the new IAP are really bad: - They cut content at release. Tower packs later on would be fine. But 5 out of 16 locked away, in a premium game... - The towers are not unlockable by gems. You can't grind for them, you have to pay. - The price is ridiculously bad. The base game is 4.99, buying the "mega tower bundle" is 10.99 Previously you could get the full experience by just buying the game. Now you have to spend twice as much again, just to get fancy towers, in a tower defense game. This is a mobile game cashgrab strategy at its worst. [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Nov 2018 06:36 AM PST I know the screen doesnt fit perfectly, but what about battery usage? I dont really like battery intensive games on my phone because i feel like they reduce battery-life overall [link] [comments]
Are there any console quality games for mobile? Posted: 22 Nov 2018 09:14 AM PST All I see is either just a timewasting app or worse: a game that leads kids to steal their parents creditcard balance. Games I enjoyed in the past: Vainglory, Fortnite (not really, but I appreciate the port). Are there some that come close to console gaming? [link] [comments]
Best Set-it and Forget-it games Posted: 22 Nov 2018 06:38 AM PST Looking for a good game I can play/check on during my micro-breaks at work, but I won't feel forced to maximize my "score" by also playing at home. (I often find myself laying in bed for hours before going to sleep playing games on my phone and browsing reddit... of course) The last post I've seen was from 2015, there should be some updates. Thanks. EDIT: They're called IDLE games, this is what I was looking for. I'm currently playing Tap Wizard RPG and it's great [link] [comments]
Must-have management/strategy games? Posted: 22 Nov 2018 03:30 AM PST I'm not new to iOS gaming, but my games folder is seriously lacking. I've not had much luck finding games that I enjoy which don't bombard you with micro transactions. What are some good management and/or strategy game recommendations for iOS, or games that are part of the kind of "management-strategy-simulation hybrid" genre ? The only ones I currently have are Motorsports Manager, Pocket City and Mini Metro. Thanks. 😊 [link] [comments]
Will Ubisoft put back to App Store HOMM3? Posted: 22 Nov 2018 08:26 AM PST Gonna buy an iPad soon, and want to play Homm3 on it. I'd like to buy it, but it was taken down from App Store. [link] [comments]
Anyone has the link or any apple id for the game Tiny Thief? Posted: 22 Nov 2018 07:23 AM PST I installed it in my old apple id long ago and now it's locked. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Nov 2018 01:55 PM PST Not gonna spoil anything Just finished the game and wow. Story: The depth of the story is not terrible. It's set in a grim time, hence the name, which made it feel very dark souls ish. There could've been more of a storyline but it was satisfying. The end battle was awesome except for the constant barrage of attacks. Made the enemy so spammy which I've always disliked. So I barely survived. Combat: Just like the game says it's a hack and slash. At first I thought the game was going to be legit dark souls but the difficulty was good. The dashing is unlimited so that makes mobs somewhat easy but the bosses can get very difficult. But the good thing is, is that the game is doable. It's hard but someone can do it. They just need to practice the dashes and charged attacks. There are a lot of puzzles that are challenging but they are also doable. Trust me, some of them take seconds and others take like 30 minutes. Final thoughts: I definitely liked the game even though I thought I wouldn't. The game really starts picking up when mobs become very easy to beat because then it's easy to get soul shards, in game currency, to level up. The fragments, forgot what they're called, are good early game until you can find the windcutter. Makes the game a bit easier. Not very easy because that's not how this game works but it does become easier. Either way the game is a lot of fun story wise and combat wise. Especially for people that like hack and slash. It is very challenging but fun. (Even though the last boss pissed me off for being so spammy lol) TLDR: Great game, great combat. Very challenging but it's doable. The story is good, could be better but it's good. Worth the full price and since it's on discount that makes it even more worth it. Please read: The only problem that I now find is that I don't have a game for my flight later this week lol. Any recommendations? I don't want something that is as grim as grim valor since it makes me kind of depressed now 😂. I do want something like a hack and slash game that has a good amount of customization and upgrades. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Have a 10 hour flight, KOTOR or Stardew Valley? Looking for any other recommendations! Posted: 22 Nov 2018 02:29 AM PST Basically title! Have a flight that's about 10 hours and am looking for a game to get through it as it won't have a entertainment pad thing and listening to podcasts was painful on my last flight. Thanks! 👌 [link] [comments]
Geometry Wars 3 - iPad Pro co-op multiplayer... Has anyone tried this? Posted: 21 Nov 2018 01:42 PM PST I have GW3 (and an iPad Pro) but I'm struggling to understand how the co-op gameplay works. I don't see any option within the menu. I only have one mFI controller but would consider buying a second if co-op actually works. Do I just need to connect another controller and the co-op mode will show up? I can't find find even a single video of anyone playing iOS co-op. Has anyone tried this? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Chaos Rings 3: This is what $20 buys you in an Squeenix RPG for iOS? Posted: 21 Nov 2018 12:50 PM PST I let Chaos Rings 1 and 2 pass me by because of the insane price tag. I finally wanted to see the best iOS JRPG's have to offer, so since CR 1 and 2 aren't available, I grabbed 3 and started to play. It's possible that I just don't love JRPG's but this game just seems bad. I mean, not objectively bad, but certainly not what I'd expect for $20. It seems more like a collectibles game than an RPG. The story and world-building are painful! Every story beat is overtransmitted. The "choice" of two different dialog items that generally have the same response is a little insulting. The levels are super simplistic. The world-building and rules are generally spelled out via fourth-wall breaking exposition. The characters and their motivations are really simplistic. Most of the complexity seems to come in in the cards and battle system, where you collect different cards and try to build up good power synthesis between characters, but to collect as many of the collectibles for each rules as you can, you're into some EXTREMELY repetitive grinding. The story missions are ok, but pretty dorky and basic stuff. Is this what $20 buys you? I feel a little ripped off, Squeenix. [link] [comments] |
