Posted: 15 Nov 2018 11:50 PM PST I was watching Homecoming on Amazon Prime via my Apple TV. I started the show via the apple TV remote. I have a Vizio smart cast TV, and a Sony networked receiver. Strangely audio was only coming from the front 3 channels and the sub. I was hearing a weird echo, and thought it was just a odd sound design. Getting up to get a drink I walked into my kitchen and heard the audio coming out of my Sonos one. I was like WTF it is a completely different system from apple TV how the hell is this happening, especially since the audio was also playing in the living room. Checking the Sonos app on my Android phone, sure enough it was airplaying to my sonos. WTF again I have never done anything related to airplaying to my sonos since besides apple TV, and Mac I use Android. I went into the settings on my apple TV and turned off airplay. It still was sending the audio. I tried to stop it in the app but no dice. It was only after I hard reset all the devices involved that I got 5.1 sound back, and it stopped playing on the one. I am really confounded by how this happened and how to prevent it from ever happening again. [link] [comments]

Apple TV 4k and LG OLED audio dropping Posted: 15 Nov 2018 01:08 PM PST My Apple TV 4k audio drops out until the Apple TV is restarted. Dosent matter which app or streaming service is used. about ever 10-30 seconds we'll lose audio for 0.5-1 second, sometimes with artifacting on the bottom half of the screen. Anyone else experiencing this? Any thoughts on ability to gather logs or troubleshoot? Issue is resolved if Apple TV is restarted after first drop happens. Scenario - Apple TV off, power on start streaming from "X" video service, within 5-10 min audio will begin dropping. Restart Apple TV and can watch uninterrupted for 4+ hours [link] [comments]
Netflix kids profile Shenanigans Posted: 15 Nov 2018 04:29 PM PST My kids watch Netflix on a 2 year-old Apple TV. It's worked perfectly fine but today whenever you go to a kids profile or switch to kids mode on an adult profile it causes Netflix to crash. Anyone else seeing this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Nov 2018 07:38 AM PST I have a 4th gen Apple TV 4K. I have an iPhone XR which can record 4K video and an HDR 4K tv as well. Can I simply airplay to the Apple TV and have it show up as 4K quality? Or if it's saved to the camera roll, will that display in 4K? [link] [comments]
the most annoying thing since airplay 2.. Posted: 15 Nov 2018 06:52 AM PST hey guys I used the search and did not find any post about this in a short amount of time but: I have a 4th gen AppleTV and currently use a Libratone ZIPP mini as my main audio device. When I used it with Airplay 1 the AppleTV was at least so "intelligent" to remember the libratone when no other device played sound directly to it. Since I use airplay 2 i have to go to the settings->Audio->Output and select the libratone EVERYTIME I start my AppleTV and most annoying it disconnects more or less randomly when The Screensaver fires or I paused a video/movie too long. This is so annoying... Is it the same behaviour with a HomePod or is there any setting I was not aware of where I can set the libratone as standard audio output? [link] [comments]
