- So this has been happening in ios 12. The problem was that if a call comes from A, then it showed as A & B in recent calls. Same was happening with calling and missed calls. The glitch went away in ios 12.1, however, it’s happening again since 2 days. Anyone else experiencing same issue ?

“Hey Siri” doesn’t work correctly in iOS 12.1? Posted: 21 Nov 2018 06:35 AM PST I used "hey Siri" for the first time in a while this morning and it definitely does not work correctly. When I say the wake word, Siri appears for a split second before disappearing and putting me back on whatever app I was in. It happens fast but you can see it transcribing the words "hey Siri" on the Siri menu when it appears but it immediately dismisses. Could this be an iOS bug? I took a screen recording of it but not sure how to share it easily here. And yes I tried setting up hey Siri again but to no avail. [link] [comments]
FaceID communicates with Apple Mothership? Posted: 21 Nov 2018 01:48 AM PST Apple services took a crap today. Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Pay, etc. But during this time, weirdly my Face ID stopped working, so did the wife's. It shook and immediately did the error 'Your passcode is required to enable Face ID". Ok, I put in my passcode and I get in. I lock my phone and it immediately gives me the error again. Once apple services started coming back up, Face ID started working again. I've tested using airplane mode and Face ID still works as expected, makes me wonder if there really is communication still going back to apple servers from the phone. Even if it's periodic in a "Is this phone ok to use Face ID? yes/no" type of question/response. Ideas? [link] [comments]

To-do app like Microsoft To-Do? Posted: 20 Nov 2018 11:41 PM PST Is there a to-do app similar to Microsoft To-Do app that is cross-platform with MacOS? I'm specifically looking for "sub-tasks" or "steps" functionality that works within the main task. I realize MSFT To-Do has a web app, but ideally, a standalone app would be great. Thanks in advance! Edit: What I have gathered so far:
Edit2: After downloading and testing all the apps listed above (except for Things 3, which doesn't offer a trial), Notion and TickTick seem to fit my needs the best. I'll try using these two apps for a few weeks to decide which I'll stick with going forward. Hopefully, this is helpful for others in a similar situation. [link] [comments]

[Screen Time] Compare stats with previous weeks Posted: 21 Nov 2018 07:25 AM PST Is it possible to compare this week's Screen Time with previous weeks? When it says 393 notifications, it's not helpful if I don't know my previous behaviour... Thank you [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Nov 2018 07:25 AM PST If you fear for the safety of your online data but you are not ready to pay for the solution,VPN Lite that's what you need. But wait, the fact the app free of charge is not the only reason to pay attention to it. One of the main advantage of the service is that users aren't required to register any personal information in order to sign up. Hence VPN Lite doesn't gather any user data that means absolute anonymity. We are sure you'll have no trouble using the app with its logical and intuitive UI. If there are some questions, wishes, or complaints Customer Support team is 24/7, 365 days a year will react fast on each of them. As to the protocol being used, this is a well-known IKEv2, which protects traffic from eavesdropping and boost privacy with strong cryptographic algorithms and keys. Compared to some other VPN protocols, IKEv2 with its well-minded architecture and effective message exchange system allow for better speed. You don't expect it, but on the heels of Mojave's release, the app has been implemented the Dark Mode themes. Appreciate the opportunity to use service equally comfortable at night and by day. Reddit client that filters by minimum comments Posted: 21 Nov 2018 07:13 AM PST I used to use Antenna and I loved the feature that allowed me to filter by minimum comments (i.e., 10) so I may focus on the more active posts. I stopped using Antenna after getting tired of it crashing all the time. I tried a few of the popular clients (using Apollo atm) but none seems to have that specific filter. Does anyone have any recommendations. Thank you. [link] [comments]
Is it possible to use Face ID for app passwords without locking the phone at the same time? Posted: 21 Nov 2018 07:02 AM PST It's convenient to use face ID for itunes purchases, financial app access and so on, but enabling Face ID also requires a passcode and locking the device. This means a lot of siri commands end up with "you must unlock your phone first" and that kills any convenience of hands free commands. I don't need to lock my phone for security because I use it at home all the time. Is there anyway to use FaceID without locking down the phone? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Nov 2018 07:02 AM PST Has anyone had issues with your phone staying in "do not disturb" mode past the set time? I have mine set from 10pm to 6am. I use Alarmy pro instead of the stock alarm and I'm 70% sure it didn't go off when it was suppose to. I may of slept through it but I'm doubtful because there's a reason I use alarmy pro. (Lol) Is this my own user error? Why is my phone still in DNT after the time I set it for? [link] [comments]

Is there a way to sort my playlists in Apple Music differently on my iPhone? Posted: 20 Nov 2018 11:42 PM PST I have an absurd amount of playlists on my phone, and it gets hard to navigate. Is there a way to sort them differently so they become more accessible? [link] [comments]
Do AirPods do something fancy with facetime audio? Posted: 21 Nov 2018 04:48 AM PST My BRO got some airpods and it kind of pissed me off, because whenever we would talk on:
The quality would be noticeably WORSE and muffled compared to a traditional 3.5mm earphones with microphone on the cable. I thought it was just due to the microphone not being close to the mouth anymore. But then... we started using facetime audio, and it sounds just like it did before in the other apps with the 3.5mm. So... Does anyone know if apple is doing something magic here? I get the feeling other apps have to re-convert the airpods data before sending it out over the app but maybe facetime can bypass this? Unable to add email account iOS 12.1 Posted: 20 Nov 2018 06:56 PM PST Mail app will not allow me to add gmail account. From the list (iCloud, Exchange, Google, Yahoo, AOL, Outlook) if I press Google nothing happens. Both Yahoo and AOL cause a crash. This is happening if I try to set up from the Mail app or even from Settings > Passwords & Accounts. Also this is on both my iPhone XS Max and my iPad. My best friend is having the same problem as well. [link] [comments]

Do you plan to iphone support wpa3 in the future through firmware update? Posted: 21 Nov 2018 05:39 AM PST Do you plan to iphone support wpa3 in the future through firmware update? This is a really important question. I bought the latest version of the iPhone xs. Now Wi-Fi wpa3 will be activated all over the world. We hope that by supporting the expensive iPhone xs with wpa3 quickly as a firmware update, you will set an example for you, unlike all other companies. Support for wpa3 is really a must. Apple companies are putting privacy first and security first. Requires wpa3 firmware update support for existing iPhone devices. [link] [comments]
Attempting to re-enter yahoo password Posted: 20 Nov 2018 05:26 PM PST I just got my iPhone XR and am loving it! Along with the new phone I decided to change my password to Yahoo email. I changed it and logged into my yahoo account. I'm getting all of my emails and am also able to send emails no problem. But, lately a pop up comes up saying I need to re-enter my yahoo password. When I try to, the screen comes up but then immediately closes out. I restarted my phone but the issue remains. Should I just delete the Yahoo email account and re-do it? [link] [comments]
