| iPhone SE (Verizon) - I sold the Macbook I was using to sync my phone Posted: 15 Nov 2018 06:08 PM PST Pardon my naivety in advance if there is an easy solve to this which I'm missing. I sold my old MacBook and now I can't get it to sync with my new MacBook. In fact, the phone will not even show up in iTunes (or Photos) when I connect it, it receives power and is able to charge but does not appear in iTunes (it does however appear as a "USB connected device" when I look over the "About this mac" panel.) I went ahead and signed in to my iCloud account through Chrome on my new MacBook and deleted the old MacBook from my devices. Whats the best way to go about syncing the current settings, texts, apps etc. with my new machine? Posted: 15 Nov 2018 08:39 PM PST Ever since installing MacOS Mojave, my MacBook Pro randomly shuts down (even sometimes with the lid closed) every 12-24 hours. However, this only occurs in MacOS Mojave or in a BootCamp partition that's on the same hard drive as a Mojave partition. When the computer is running High Sierra or below, it runs perfectly fine and I don't get any problems. This was not just a corrupt Mojave install either. I have reinstalled the OS multiple times and even fresh installed (completely erasing the hard drive and reinstalling from scratch) it multiple times and the issue still persists. | Macbook Pro video jitters in fullscreen - looking for fix. Posted: 15 Nov 2018 04:53 PM PST Hello! I have a 2015 MBP (Retina) currently running Mojave 10.14.1. Recently, even before updating to the most current Mojave, I have noticed my screen jittering or lagging when playing videos in full screen mode. This stops happening if I touch the trackpad or move the cursor around, then begins jittering again when I stop. I found some old help threads online and set about "resetting" Safari - I cleared all caches, cookies, and history. This seemed to solve the issue for about a week, but the screen jitter returned today. This is a link for a video I took on my phone showing what happens. Is there any imminent danger of this issue breaking the entire iMac somehow? Such as bits of the fan breaking off and becoming lodged in weird places, etc. [link] [comments]  |

| Watch is jumpy while using maps Posted: 15 Nov 2018 06:07 PM PST I'm traveling in Japan and using my Apple Watch to help navigate. It's becoming frustrating because as I turn my wrist to show the next instruction, the watch jumps haphazardly between the previous instruction and the next. It's hard to read and hard to stop. I've tried uninstalling most apps, turned on other animation reducing settings within accessibility but it's still jumpy. Any help? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

| Macbook Pro Late 2011 - Hangs on login and on reinstalling OS Posted: 15 Nov 2018 10:39 AM PST So I have this old Macbook Pro 15" Late 2011 (Intel i7) and at some point it started hanging when trying to login. It would load to about 69-70% and then it would just stop. At first I just rebooted and after a while I was able to login and at some point that stopped helping. Now it hangs every single time and sometimes does this blue pixel screen. Things I've tried to fix it:
When I try the reinstall thing it seems to start normally, but then at some point the screen goes gray and the fans start going really loud. Tried waiting for quite a while but nothing else happens. Any suggestions what to try next? Currently it has the new SSD drive installed, but I have the old one still here. I connected it to my desktop and everything in there seems to be in order. | My iPad stopped receiving messages recently Posted: 15 Nov 2018 07:18 PM PST Up until recently, all messages I got would show up on my Mac, iPad, and phone. A few days ago, for no discernible reason, I stopped getting text messages on both my Mac and iPad. iMessage still works fine for both of them, but not SMS. I checked, both devices are connected to my number and should really be receiving messages. Also, if I send a message from my iPad (I'm not sure about my computer) the person will get it, but on my device it will say the message failed to send. Same iCloud account and everything as well. | Posted: 15 Nov 2018 06:00 PM PST So over the past couple of months I've been having strange issues with my MacBook Pro, it has been doing some weird power related issues that don't allow it to turn on unless I just don't mess with it for days on end. I don't know why it does this and am very perplexed. It will just refuse any input to turn on, as in the power button or trying to do it with the bass on the logic board. Im assuming the smc Firmware could be messed up. This also happened when I tried to install Mac OS high Sierra from internet recovery. Thanks in advance for any help. Also if it has anything to do with it my trackpad also docent work after 2 cable replacements and 1 new trackpad, it clicks but dose sense any movement from it, but I don't think their conected. Stuff I've one whilst it won't turn on Try and reset smc to,no luck Unplugged battery and used wall adapter, no luck Only thing that works is leaving it with or without battery for a week or so. | Green Pixels on iPhone 6S Screen is Spreading Posted: 15 Nov 2018 09:29 PM PST I have been using my iPhone 6S for close to 3 year now without any issues, and its a great phone overall. Yesterday morning I saw a small Green Color pixel on the top of the phone and since then it has been spreading. Not sure what this is, I contacted Apple chat support and shared the images of the screen but even they don't any clue about this issue. I haven't dropped the phone, or caused any sort of physical/water damage. | MBP ProRetina mid-2012 runs hot Posted: 15 Nov 2018 09:25 PM PST Runs hot but fans run slow regardless. Certain functions do force the fans to high speed, so I know they're working OK. I replaced the battery pack recently and while I was in there, I cleaned a ton of dust out of everything. No real change. I get maybe 4 hours of runtime per charge. FireFoxCP Web Content often has energy impact above 100. Do these ever need R&R of the CPU thermal paste? | MacBook 13 inch retina - mid 2014 Posted: 15 Nov 2018 09:03 PM PST When I turn on laptop and login in, my cursor stops moving and screen is frozen. It works perfectly fine when in safety mode. I wiped my computer clean thinking that'd help and it still freezes after computer turns on. After I restart laptop after it freezes (by pressing and holding power button) a message saying "you shut down your computer because of a problem" & if I want to open apps that were open when I shutdown. | Safari trying to visit a search term as a website Posted: 15 Nov 2018 09:29 AM PST I have had a long-running problem with Safari. I have reported the problem to Apple via their feedback page for every new Safari version for at least the last 7+ years. The problem remains. The problem is that on occasion when I type a search term into the address bar, instead of searching my chosen search engine with the term Safari instead thinks it is a URL and url encodes it and tries to visit it. For example, today I typed It is very intermittent but once it starts doing it, it is difficult to get it to stop doing it, usually have to close the tab. I have had this happen to me on multiple macs over the years. Surely I am not the only one this happens to? Posted: 15 Nov 2018 05:12 AM PST I'm in the market for an iPad I was trying to find out how long the battery lasts on the gen 1 and gen 2 Pencils but I didn't see this information anywhere on the website. There is no official marketing of the battery life. This is hardly a trivial feature so why leave it out? | Screen Unresponsive on 2nd Generation iPad Pro 12.9" Posted: 15 Nov 2018 01:27 PM PST For the past month or so, my 12.9" iPad Pro has been intermittently suffering from an unresponsive touch screen. The issue will happen every ~10 minutes or so and will linger for 10 to 15 seconds. During that time, the iPad will not accept any touch input (taps, swipes, long press, etc) and the device is basically bricked until the issue goes away. I have tried to solve the issue by restarting the device, messing around with accessibility settings, disconnecting my Apple Pencil, turning off Bluetooth, basically anything that I can think of. Has anyone else run into the issue before with their 2nd gen iPad Pro and knows of a way to fix it? For reference, it was purchased at launch ( June 2017 ) and is running iOS 12.1.
