    EDIT: I wan't clear enough about this. On iCloud my contacts are normal. There are no duplicate groups and no links to other contacts. Hopefully this clears-up any confusion that the kind people who tried to help me with this are having.

    I think iCloud has seriously screwed-up my contacts over the years. It might not actually be iCloud, but it's been the source of so many issues over the years that I suspect it's the cause of the contacts issues I'm having.

    On my phone I have two of every group with different contacts in each group. For example, there are doctors in one Medical group that aren't in the other Medical group. I only created one of those groups.

    Almost every contact has a link to another one, but they're not at all related. For example, my ophthalmologist is linked to two Chinese restaurants. I haven't consciously linked any accounts. I'm not even sure how to do it.

    Is there a way to undo all of the above? Can I do it manually in iOS 12 or via iCloud? Is there a semi-automatic way to do it?

    I'm still running on iOS 10 because of all the negative feedback I heard about updating older phone models to iOS 11 but I've heard 12 isn't really affecting older phone models.

    What are your guys experiences so far updating your older phone models to iOS 12?

    iPhone 7 randomly powering off, losing cell reception, speakerphone greyed out, all since updating to ios 12

    updated to ios 12 friday morning 9/28. traveled over the weekend and realized something was wrong. losing cell reception, getting a 'cellular update failed' message, calls have no audio, speakerphone button in-call being greyed out, and phone powering off on its own and staying on the apple logo for 3-5 minutes when booted back up.

    am i completely fucked?

    Is there anyway to remove Apple Watch from the audio while on call?

    I am not wearing my Apple Watch at all and somehow whenever i want to put my iPhone on speaker, it gives me an option to use my Apple Watch. I feel this is also a problem since I sometimes don't get notifications on my iPhone when someone texts me and it thinks im wearing my watch. https://imgur.com/a/omrPoAP

    How can I remotely access files on a Windows computer through an iPhone outside of my WiFi connection?

    I have the app File Explorer Pro on an iPhone SE with IOS 11, great app. It works flawlessly with accessing files on my windows machine while I am on my home network, using local IP but requires I use a WIFI connection. Now I would like to be able to access this computer when I am using 4G remotely, outside of the range of my WIFI. Is this possible? I tried inputting the external IP of the computer where the internal IP goes in FE but when connecting FE asks me for account credentials to the computer which I input, but then the files never show up and the app just hangs.

    How can I access my windows machine outside of Wifi with my iPhone? Not possible with FE? I want to do this for streaming music when I am away over 4G from my server at home to my iPhone through FE.

    How can notifications be deleted/changed on my device BY OTHERS?

    Hey. Since a few apps now allow you to delete your sent messages (Instagram, whatsapp etc.), I noticed that this also changes the notification on my device. For example, I get an insta message, the sender then deletes it and the SAME notification which said "message by x: hello" CHANGES to "this message has been deleted" (or something along those lines). How can this be done? Can apps change notifications that were already pushed? I noticed it even deletes/changes the notifiaction on my apple watch. Other apps like telegram show the message, but it's just not there when I open the chat, but the notificaion doesn't change. Can someone explain to me how/why/since when this works? Thanks!

    Looking for a mood tracker app with specific quantitative tracking functionality

    Hi!

    I am wondering if anyone knows of a mood tracker-esque app that also allows users to log quantitative data as to how many times something occurred during a day (which in turn can be paired against mood trends for correlation).

    For example,

    I would log that [day] went pretty meh overall at 9pm. During that same day, I would have consistently +1'd certain specific behaviours or interactions that I am interested in tracking. In this case, I want to quantitatively keep track in real time how many times per day I have thoughts that I am going to be murdered, which invoke a very real fear response as well as anxiety. (I have PTSD among other things.) I think I have the thoughts more than I let on so my psychologist and I agreed to track mood and frequency; except, all the apps I have found lean qualitative, which is not as useful + tracking will be a pain in the butt if I have to go through eight steps/menus just to +1 multiple behaviours/thoughts everyday.

    Any suggestions/ideas? Thank you!

    Email Accounts not showing in the "Passwords and Accounts" section and other problems.

    Setting up my mother's new iPhone 8 after upgrading from an iPhone 6 and she seems to have 6 Mailboxes for the same email. Is there a way to remove this? I wanted to remove her hotmail entirely and just add it back again but when I go to "Passwords and Accounts" section there's nothing there.

    Also, this another major problem with her older iPhone and is still an issue on her new iPhone is that when you open the Mail app it goes into the white screen where it's just about to load in but then proceeds to close. This keeps happening unless I delete the Mail app and re-download it from the App Store again.

    Can anyone give me a solution for my poor mother? She has grown very used to the default Mail app for the past 5+ years and she would like to keep it that way.

    Why isn't Maps Nearby feature enabled everywhere?

    Hi!

    First a disclaimer, this is a bit pet peeve of mine so I might sound grumpy.

    Why isn't Maps Nearby feature enabled everywhere? I just don't get what's the holdup. Does anyone have any feedback on this? Either from Apple Support or any other unofficial source?

    Big reason I miss this feature is because without it you are unable to while using Maps for navigation use the Search On the Route and chose a gas station as a middle point for example.
