- iPhone 8 suddenly stopped receiving cell data service

- Trying to wipe 8+, phone frozen
- Cannot search in settings application
- I got a notification saying my number had recently changed (it hadn’t), and now all the numbers in my contacts have a weird space in the area code, so now any text or call is without their contact name. My number didn’t change, it for the weird space in the area code too. (Pictures in comments)
- Almost half of my storage is taken up by ‘other’. How do I clear this up as much as I can. I tried clear website data from safari, old messages, photos, etc. Nothing seems to be working. Help please.
- Newly updated iPhone X says Cellular Updated Failed. Factory reset it and now it won't activate
- Messages don’t stay in my notification bar/home screen

I logged into my new phone with my Apple ID , so all my contacts, pictures,apps, ect, are now on my new phone. | iPhone 8 suddenly stopped receiving cell data service Posted: 27 Sep 2018 04:46 PM PDT Last Thursday (9/20) my phone suddenly stopped receiving cell data service. I went to bed the night before with a strong data connection but in the morning and ever since I have had no service anywhere I go. Here's what I've tried so far:
I also contacted Apple support who ran a diagnostics test on my phone and said everything looked good. The WiFi connection works fine and I haven't dropped my phone or anything like that. If anyone has a possible solution I'd greatly appreciate it as the nearest Apple store is 3 hours away and I'd rather not make the drive unless absolutely necessary. tl;dr Cell data stopped working, tried everything to fix it, Apple customer support and AT&T said everything looks good on their end [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 27 Sep 2018 06:17 PM PDT so i wanna add an album to my phone that isnt on itunes and i have apple music, but i can't add it because of icloud music library. people have suggested disabling and reenabling it but then i'd have to re-add and download hundreds of albums and make huge playlists again and i'd rather not. there has to be another way right? Instead of everyone's numbers being like 123-456-7890, is set up like 12-3456-7890 so it's being recognized as a different number for some reason. I dunno. It just randomly happened. Here's an example of how the conversations are showing up. The only difference is how the number is formatted in the contact. I have an iPhone X that I recently updated through iTunes for iOS 12. After updating, the cell data icon at the top shoed an exclamation point and a message popped up saying "Cellular Update Failed" I pressed Learn More and it just showed me to an Apple Support page that didn't really showed me what to do. I googled the issue and found only a few that resembled the problem. Some people advised bringing it to the carrier, so that's what I did. However, they said that they didn't know how to fix the issue and suggested backing up the phone's data and conducting a Factory Reset. I did as he said and now, the phone won't even boot up. The setup process stops after connecting to Wi-Fi and a message showing that the phone was "Unable to Activate" and at the bottom it says "An update is required to activate your iPhone." But it's already updated. So I tried plugging it again to iTunes and it wouldn't update as well and it shows "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be activated because the activation information could not be obtained from the device. Disconnect your iPhone, make sure the SIM card is inserted correctly, and, if you use a SIM PIN, tap Unlock to enter it, and then reconnect your iPhone." I have an iPhone6; I would get a text, the notification stays for a few minutes and disappear. I never know I received a text until I check the messaging app. FYI, I still have the notification number on the app, the notification for my text just doesn't stay in my notification bar/home screen.
