For all the accusations Apple get about planned obsolescence, the longest running devices I have are Apple devices.

It's getting really tiresome having to drag the infinitesimally small scroll bar & with the Control Centre now being a 'drag-from-the-top' gesture it is constantly interrupting attempts to do this!

Do others find this an issue and/or hope it will be added to iOS 12?

    Typing ‘Jony Ive’ on iOS

    Posted: 07 Sep 2018 09:13 PM PDT

Has anyone noticed that when you type 'Jony Ive' on iOS keyboard it doesn't add the apostrophe in I've?

But when you type any other name like his wife 'Heather I've' it does. Classic!

Apple is talking to big newspapers about joining its subscription service. Last March, Apple bought Texture, a digital magazine service and it wants the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal to join up.

Does apple keep an archive of all its past products ?

    Posted: 07 Sep 2018 08:41 PM PDT

I was wondering, sometimes during a keynote they'll show high resolution pictures of past or even ancient models that look brand new (powerbook, original iphone ...) to compare nest to new products for instance. so I was wondering, are those very good renders, or does anyone know if apple has some sort of high tech, climate controlled storage place full of all of their past products in brand new condition, just in case they would need to display them or use them for photos ?

    Great experience at Apple Store

    Posted: 07 Sep 2018 06:51 PM PDT

Just wanted to share my experience at the Apple Store today. So I bought an iPhone X on Black Friday (Silver 256GB) and recently dropped it and the OLED display went haywire but the glass and exterior of the phone were in perfect condition. Took me two weeks but finally made it to an Apple Store today. This is my first retail experience at an Apple Store. I made a genius appointment online and showed up promptly at the time arranged. I had to wait about 15-20 minutes but the techs updated me on how long my wait would be and it was exactly that. After some quick diagnostics I was told to come back in about 45 minutes and my phone would be repaired for free. I came back in the time allotted and not only did they fix the broken phone but they actually gave me a brand new one because they couldn't perform the diagnostics successfully after the phone was repaired. So, I got a new phone for free from something I admittedly told the guy I did. Great customer service! Never will I switch from Apple. After this experience I'm definitely in for the long haul. Thanks Apple!

    Edit: LCD to OLED

When will we get the feature where we can set a renewal date for our mobile data? Because for the moment the "current period" just never stops

Title. Most phones have this, but it is anyone to have to manually reset every month.

2018 MacBook Pro speaker update - lower sound quality?

    Posted: 07 Sep 2018 05:18 AM PDT

I had some minor speaker crackle like others had reported on my 2018 MacBook Pro that seems to have gone away with the latest update.

But when I'm listening to music I feel like the lower frequencies have dropped off substantially since the update - has anyone else experiences this? Half of me thinks its my imagination but I definitely feel that something sounds different.

Is a successor to the iPhone SE likely to be announced at the upcoming Apple event? Should I hold off on getting an SE until then?

I'd like to get one before uni starts next week but I can wait if there's very likely to be a price drop.
