Product RED iPhone X. Just a cheap case

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 11:12 PM PDT

Any suggestions on an app that lets you watch movies and media you’ve purchased through iTunes.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 09:03 AM PDT

The stock tv app used for watching movies sucks. It has a hard time saving the spot you're at in a movie, it lags a lot while sometimes loading the audio and getting stuck on a still image from the movie, you can't lock your phone and listen to the audio from a movie. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? It would be greatly appreciated.

September purchase : new iPhone or new Apple Watch

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:13 AM PDT

With the September even fast approaching I'm trying to decide what to do, I currently have an iPhone 6s and the original Apple Watch, I have enough money to buy either a new phone or a new watch but I don't really want to buy both, if you were me which would you choose? I replaced the iphones battery in July, but it's still awful although iOS 12 has helped. And my original Apple Watch is only good enough for notifications and battery is awful.

    Audio Skipping

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 07:38 AM PDT

So, as of this morning, my iPhone 6s running the latest software update is skipping during my podcasts. It seems nothing I can do is helping. I can plug the audio cable in and not use Bluetooth but let's face it, that doesn't fix the problem. Is anyone else having this issue?? I have found many cases on google but no real answer.

    Help!!

    My camera roll suddenly disappeared

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 07:22 AM PDT

So I don't have a camera roll as of this morning... Only "all photos" which includes seemingly every photo I've ever had on my phone and even on previous phones. 16,000+ photos. What happened to my camera roll that only had about 3,000 photos?!

    Looking for microphone boost suggestions

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 10:21 AM PDT

My girlfriend and I both have older relatives that are hard of hearing. We both have iPhones, and they usually can't hear us where everyone else has no issues.

This isn't an iPhone problem, but I'm seeking a way to solve it with one.

Is there a non-jailbreak method to boost the mic output when talking to these specific people, or an external mic that can be attached in a hurry that will allow us to dial up the gain?

I Reset my iPhone 6, now Apple Watch won’t pair.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 09:36 AM PDT

I was having issues with my iPhone 6 on iOS 11 so it ran unbelievably slow so I reset the phone and signed into iCloud. Everything works again.
But. I forgot to unpair my Apple Watch (first gen). My Apple Watch isn't paired to my iPhone 6. I try to pair it by holding the watch in viewfinder and nothing happens I try to pair manually but no devices show up to select.

I then reset the Apple Watch and nothing changed. It still had all my photos and custom watch face saved.

How do I pair my original Apple Watch to my iPhone 6?

I don't understand why this is so difficult.

This morning my iPhone went off by itself then I try to turn it back on it took the phone about 5 min to turn back on again (logo was coming and going for mints).
I never dropped the phone of anything like that! Why did that happen?

Anybody know how to view previous emergency alerts on iOS?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 09:46 PM PDT

I recently received an AMBER alert, and out of force of habit a few minutes later I cleared my Notification Center, including the AMBER alert with it. I've never been able to help out with these but I still like to be a good human and keep my eyes open, especially if I'm already out on the road. But the problem is it seems that once you've cleared the notification there is no way to go back and see it. So does anybody know a solution to this? Google only gave me old answers. Thanks in advanced!

Any rig suggestions for making live-streaming easier with my iPhone?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 08:51 AM PDT

I've got a lot of followers on Instagram and I wanna live stream some of the stuff I do on my farm. With that said, I need a versatile setup I think, and since I'm outside working I need it to be easy to operate quickly.

I already have a basic tripod I use but I'm wondering if there's anything better that I may not know about

3-5 Cellular Bars but No Actual Signal

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 07:19 AM PDT

I've had this issue for the last month or so. I'll have full cellular bars, but won't be able to load anything that would need connection. Switching to 4G from LTE helps occasionally, but not always. I don't know if it's an issue with my cellular provider or phone. Interestingly, while I was on vacation in Seattle, WA, I didn't have much issue, but now that I'm back in Chicago, IL, I'm having issues. For info, I have an iPhone 6 and have AT&T. Anything I can do to help this, or should I call AT&T and try to get a new SIM?

    Extended Warranty Suggestion

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 07:03 AM PDT

    Good Day,

Has anyone had experience with AppleCare+ or SquareTrade or any other 3rd party group that they would recommend for their iPhone Warranties? For some insight, I will be getting a new one when they come out this fall, religiously keep it in a case, and use it for at least 3-4 years.

    Thanks

    Another Apple upgrade program question

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 06:27 AM PDT

I've been in the program since October 2016 and plan to get a new phone in September. Obviously since I'm close to the end of this 24 month plan, it makes sense to pay this phone off and re-sell it. I'd like to get a new phone in September so is it possible to pay it off early? I don't see an option via Citizen's Bank portal to pay off.

Also, once paid off will I be considered a new customer to the program and not an upgrade? I assume yes but wanted to confirm.

    Major Apple ID problem

    Posted: 11 Aug 2018 12:51 AM PDT

A few weeks ago, I got a notification to update my Iphone 7 plus. When I tried to update, it said my account was locked for security purposes and I needed to unlock it. The only viable option was to unlock it via security questions because i just couldn't remember the recovery email(made the account nearly 6 years ago), however no matter how many times I answered them I could not get them right. I called apple support many times and they could not help me in any way. I thought it was no big deal until I couldn't use the majority of the apps on my iphone because they needed updating, and i couldnt update them because my account is locked. Then I decided enough was enough, I hard reset my Iphone and made a new ID. Upon setting up my new Id, i found out that there is an activation lock linked to my original account. After signing in, it woukdnt let me go through even though im 100% certain the Id and password are correct. I dont know what to do anymore, I cat use my iphone 7 due to the activation lock, I cant remove the activation lock because my apple id is locked and apple support wont unlock my apple id. Has anyone experienced something like this ever before and if so how did you solve it?

Ps. Sorry if my english is bad, english is not my first language

    Weird audio bug?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 09:11 PM PDT

I noticed today that my sound quality literally changes when I tilt my phone, it will sound muffled quieter and have a slight echo on full screen mode, but sounds completely normal vertically. Is this something I could fix? Watching full screen videos are unbearable on my iPhone's speakers.

    Switching back to the iPhone

    Posted: 10 Aug 2018 10:33 AM PDT

This is my first reddit post, so thank you for those who take the time to read it.

For years, I have been an iPhone enthusiast. My first phone was some android HTC. It was an awful, buggy experience. I vowed to never go back to an android powered phone again. Since then, I have an an iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 5, and iPhone 6+. In May of 2016 it was time for my next iPhone upgrade. I went into the Verizon store prepared to get the latest iPhone: the iPhone 7+. However there was a bogo free deal for the Samsung S7 edge. My dad asked if I would be willing to get it to save him some money. I played around with it in the store for some time before finally agreeing to try it out. He said if I absolutely hated it before the 60 day money back guaranteed date, I could return it and get an iPhone. Well it turns out I fell in love with it. For those of you who have been iOS users your entire lives, I strongly encourage you at least try an android phone. They've come a long way in the past few years. The stereotypes of having poor cameras, battery packs that fall out, and green bubbles are either not true or just asinine reasons for sticking with an iPhone. Well this time around, I decided to switch back to an iPhone and got the iPhone X. So after my long prologue, here are my reasons I love and hate the iPhone.

    Pros:

iMessage. Everyone knows that the best thing about iOS is iMessage. I hate people that shun others because their "bubbles are green." I don't love iMessage because my bubbles are blue. I love iMessage because it's so seamless. Being able to send a picture or video and it not get decompressed is amazing. Playing fun games or sending Animojis is awesome. Having my texts seamlessly transition from my iPhone to my MacBook is great. It's what really sets it apart from every other phone.

Speed. Android phones boast that their phones are speedier. And they very well may be. However the longevity of a smooth phone was not the case with my S7. About a year in it began to lag horribly, no matter how many times I reset it. Every iPhone I've ever had has always been smooth for as long as I owned them.

Apple ecosystem. Being able to connect everything together makes life easy. I own an iPhone, a MacBook, and an Apple TV. The watch and iPad are next on my radar. Sharing photos, sending texts, browsing files. It's all so easy when you have apple devices connected together through the cloud.

Force touch. As far as I know, there isn't an android phone that has implemented a feature like force touch. It's not a game changer, but it's nice to have for certain apps.

    Cons:

Limited use. The best thing you'll hear android fanboys boast about is being "free." I'd have to agree. Being able to move apps anywhere you want on a screen or adding widgets (iPhone widgets are a joke) is what makes android phones feel so personal. You can even download a different launcher which completely changes how the phone operates entirely. iPhone just doesn't allow that. You can only stack apps from top left to bottom right. Like I said earlier, widgets are a joke.

Siri. What the heck, Apple? Siri has been around for how long? From using Google Assistant for just two years and coming back to Siri, I finally understand how awful of an AI she really is. I can't do anything with her unless I have a strong connection. For almost everything I ask her, she gives me a safari webpage. She can't do simple things like play music from Spotify. Her voice recognition is awful. I could go on and on about this point, but I'll leave it at that.

Default apps. This should be an easy fix, but Apple is so exclusive, I don't know that this will ever get resolved. I'm sorry, but Apple maps isn't even close to Google maps. And if I click an address link, I want it to open up in Google maps. If I click a hyperlink, I don't want to use safari. I want to use Google.

Ports. Where the heck is the headphone jack?! I understand the desire to push towards a wireless era, but leave it if people want it! I know that it's thick enough to fit one on there. I want to be able to listen to music and charge my phone at the same time. Also, why hasn't the charging port been switched to USB-C? They've done it for the MacBook. It would make charging much faster. (Apple boasts fast charging, but it requires extra cords and adapters that end up costing you around $70.)

Sorry this was such a long post. Let me know how you guys feel about this list. Is it accurate to you? Have you ever used Android? What do you love/hate about the iPhone that I didn't mention?
