Activity App Crashed, Causing to lose 641 Day Streal Posted: 11 Aug 2018 05:32 AM PDT I encountered a problem with the Activity app last night on my Series 2. I was playing paintball with some friends and had started a "Play" workout on my watch. At some point during paintball the watch must have rebooted and it did not recover the workout. This resulted in a 641 day Move streak being lost. I never noticed this till we were done playing at 11pm last night and there was no way to burn another 150 calories while standing at the bar. I tried adding a workout via the Health app on my iPhone but the Activity ring doesn't change. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
Apple Watch has officially cemented its place in my life Posted: 11 Aug 2018 08:19 AM PDT I haven't had my Watch for long. Maybe a month at this point. It's a Series 3 space gray aluminum that I bought off Craigslist. My family was set to leave for our annual beach vacation last Sunday. The day before that, Saturday, I went to my friend's apartment that night and we were doing normal college age kid things. I passed out asleep around 2am and set my alarm to wake up at 10:00 the next morning to go home and get my stuff together to leave. I was woken up around 8am by my watch buzzing on my wrist from a phone call. I answered, and it was my dad telling me to come to the nursing home where my grandma lived because she was in critical condition (she had been fine the night before) and it was guaranteed she didn't have much longer. I sped over there and not 10 minutes after I arrived, my grandma passed, surrounded by her entire family (at least, the ones who live in the area, which is basically the entire immediate family). Without my watch waking me up, I would have missed this and been the only family member not there with her when she went. I was sound asleep, my phone was on silent, and if I didn't have the watch on I would have snoozed until 10 like I had planned. I know this is just a basic function of the watch but on that day it performed a very meaningful function for me. [link] [comments]

Looking to buy S3 but which one do I get? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 05:06 AM PDT I need help friends. So I've spent the last week deliberating which Apple Watch to get; cellular or gps. I'm a Fitbit Alta HR user keen to upgrade to Apple. I've decided that I probably wouldn't use the cellular function as I'm not on EE, nor will I want to join them. However I've heard you don't actually need to activate that function. I would however like the 16GB memory. The only thing that grates me is the red dial on the side. It's so prominent. Anyone else dislike it or do you not notice it after a while? On the other hand there's the gps version which of course has no red dial but 8GB memory. How does the watch work in terms of listening to music with Apple Music? I'm okay with not streaming my music, I usually don't stream when listening on my iPhone because I've added the music to my phone through the library. But for the watch - do I need to pre-download or "add" from the Apple Music library to listen to music? Does this take a lot of space? Am I just acting too high brow about this red dial? Thanks and appreciate any help! [link] [comments]
Just a quick opinion for those on the fence about LTE Posted: 10 Aug 2018 09:46 AM PDT I just got into work this morning and realized that I'd left my phone at home this morning because I had it plugged in to back it up. But because of LTE the sudden worry I had about missing calls (trying to get a specialist dr. appt is a hassle) disappeared knowing that I won't miss any calls because of cellular on my watch. Plus I didn't forget my airpods so I'm totally good for music for the day. Just a thought I had this morning. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:59 AM PDT How do I turn off the pop up that shows up whenever I get in my car and start driving? The one where it basically is guessing where I am going. [link] [comments]
High Quality 3rd party charger cables? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:10 AM PDT Hey /r/applewatch, Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend. I'm currently "reviewing" (for want of a better term) my charging setup, particularly for travelling as I'm about to start a new job that requires a fair amount of travelling. I need to charge an iPhone 7+, an iPod Touch 5th Gen (I travel abroad with this as I've got all my music saved locally, otherwise it lives at home as I get unlimited data), an Apple Watch S3 and 2015 13" MacBook Pro Retina. Obviously the laptop is what it is and it needs the brick (no USB-C, which as much as I dislike the lack of proper USB ports on the new models it would be handy for this!), and I've got a few 1ft Anker Lightning cables for the iPhone/iPod, along with an Anker 27w 4 port wall charger. My issue is that the standard Apple Watch charging cable is far too long (I'm trying to keep my charging setup as tightly packed as possible as well as keep weight down) but I can't seem to find any 3rd party charging cables, never mind MFI certified ones. Do they exist or am I looking for what isn't there? Thanks guys. [link] [comments]

How does the apple steel link band look with the aluminium sport watch? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 03:01 AM PDT Thinking of buying a second apple watch, but unwilling to pay the premium of a steel version (curently have a ceramic s3), and im hooked on the non black steel link apple band. But im wondering how does it go with the sport watches? Anyone have some pics? (Flash on) [link] [comments]
Is there a way to uncouple Watch notification vibrations from notification sounds on the phone? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 12:31 AM PDT As far as I understand, in order for a notification to vibrate on the watch, notification sounds for that app must be enabled on the phone. I love receiving silent notifications on my watch but in order to do this it seems like I have to mute the whole phone. But it means that if I go to bed before my wife gets home from work and my watch is charging, my phone is silent and I would miss any calls from here which would be bad in case of emergency. But if I unmute the phone, then every notification that I have set to vibrate on my watch will start making noise while I'm trying to sleep. So what I'm looking for is a way for notifications to silently vibrate on the watch without having their notification sounds enabled on the phone and without having to silent the entire phone. Posted: 10 Aug 2018 07:26 PM PDT Is there any way to lock my watch screen during workouts? Today I accidentally paused my workout twice and actually rebooted the watch twice while lifting. Motions that pushed my hands backwards hit both the crown and button and restarted the watch. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Aug 2018 04:37 PM PDT I have a silent alarm set on my Apple Watch for 7:00 AM. Most of the time, I wake up later (the alarm isn't important so I don't miss anything) and look at my watch, which displays the alarm screen. However, I didn't feel the haptics and when I look at the alarm screen the watch is not vibrating. Anyone else experience this or know what's wrong? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Aug 2018 06:41 PM PDT My local Costco is featuring selected series 3 watches at $50 off. The prices I saw were $294 for 42mm and $264 for 38mm. [link] [comments]
My Watch battery is draining quickly even after getting a new watch Posted: 10 Aug 2018 01:32 PM PDT I had battery issues with my Watch, so I took it to Apple and they replaced the watch. Even with my new watch, the battery is still draining quickly. I'm on the iOS 12 beta, could this have something to do with it? Anyone else running the beta? [link] [comments]
Reasonable price to sell my AWS 2 Nike+ Posted: 10 Aug 2018 10:02 PM PDT Hello /r/AppleWatch I'm planning on selling my S2 in order to purchase a new S4. Watch runs very smooth hardly any scratches on the screen (Been using a skinomi screen protector since almost the beginning) but there is a small dent on the aluminum body.. The original Platinum White band is still in good conditions as well as the charging brick and clasp. Want to know a reasonable price I could sell this for. Thanks! (Also by the end of the day the watch has about 85%-95% depending on use) Edit: Spelling [link] [comments]
How do I clean the sport loop? Posted: 10 Aug 2018 08:15 AM PDT It's been a warm, humid summer where I live and my sport loop is starting to get a little... smelly. What's the best way to clean the sport loop to remove any odors? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Aug 2018 08:37 PM PDT Hey guys, New to the subreddit. Everyone seems to enjoy their watches here (expected though and might receive a biased choice). I'm just wondering if it's worth it? Like what made you get an Apple Watch. I'm leaning towards yes, because I never feel notifications when I'm waking (when I need to be on the lookout for notifications), easy access to time, easy access to a quick peek at emails/texts, and a quick peek at my navigation rather than staring at my phone. But I'm in a mindset of "if I buy it, I better use it." So, do you think my reasons are good enough for a $329 investment? Or nah? [link] [comments]

Space Gray Nike+ “vs” Silver Stainless Steel Posted: 10 Aug 2018 06:52 PM PDT Which should I have? Right now I have the space gray aluminum Nike+ with the black sport loop, but somebody's willing to trade me for the silver stainless steel. Both series 3 with cellular. I love the Nike watch faces, but I would never use the Nike+ run. It just seems that there isn't a lot of good bands to match the space gray aluminum??? Advice? [link] [comments] |
