PSA: For those not sure if they should buy now..

Not sure whether you should buy now or wait? If you don't know about MacRumors Buyer's Guide (especially those new to the Apple ecosystem), there is a great guide on when is a good time to buy "the next thing" on macrumors.com.

If you scroll part way down, there is plenty of info about the watch, including rumors and recommendations so you can make an informed decision.

    Activity idea - Dynamic Goals

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 05:44 AM PDT

So I just thought it would be a great idea if Apple provided an option for dynamic goals in the Activity app for Apple Watch.

    What are dynamic goals?

Dynamic goals would slightly increase the required amount of move and exercise input to close your rings.

So for example if your watch noticed you hit your goals for a week straight it would slightly increase those goals automatically to make it harder to achieve them.

This would also work the opposite way. If the app noticed you haven't hit your goals consistently it would slightly decrease until you started hitting them and then would start increasing them again.

This dynamic movement of goals up and down would promote people to avoid becoming content with simply closing their rings at their current fitness level and prevent people from becoming discouraged from never reaching their goals and having to manually turn them down.

This would be an option of course that could be turned on or off based on user preference. Yes, you could do this manually but I believe that it would be far more useful for the app to do this automatically.

    WatchOS 5.0 beta how?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 09:13 AM PDT

    Hi,

My WatchOS got updated to 5.0 beta (16R5283r) and I don't know how. I don't have a developer account and as far as I know there is no public beta for watches. I have iOS 12 public beta on my iPhone. Any ideas?

    cellular issues

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 08:16 AM PDT

Is it normal for my watch to need to be turned off and turned on again just to get cellular connectivity back? i never had this issue prior to the update a few cycles ago. It's pretty irritating. All of my settings are correct too. After I turn it off and turn it on again, the cellular always works again but I shouldn't have to do this. Thanks in advance!

Can the series 3 play music directly from the watch, no headphones?

Is the series 2 getting the Walkie-Talkie app?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 01:27 AM PDT

A lot of my friends are getting series 3 recently (which I assume will get it) and I was just wondering if mine will get it too.

How to shuffle playlist with apple watch?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 05:30 AM PDT

Recently got an apple watch and really loving it so far. The only feature that I really miss is the ability to shuffle music in my playlist. When searching for it, it appears that I should be able to do it by firmly pressing down on the watch when in the music app. I have tried doing this on the playlist itself and while playing a song for the playlist, but my screen simply "shakes" once, and I dont get any options. What am I missing? I can't imagine that there is not a shuffle feature..

    S3 Watch charging really slow

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 03:42 AM PDT

My S3 watch is charging extremely slow since a couple of weeks. It can take up to 6 hours to not even charge half the battery.

I already tried unpairing and pairing it again, reseting it entirely, restarting (with crown+button until it resets)...but nothing seems to fix it.

As a note, the screen usually turns up a lot randomly while charging.

I am using the original charger and cable. Has this happen to any of you? Any ideas? Should I just give up and take it to Apple store? I bought it on Christmas and until this, it was charging perfectly. Battery duration and every other function seem just fine...

Apple Watch goals not being recognized

    Posted: 07 Aug 2018 11:17 PM PDT

    Hi everyone!

I'm on watchos 4 and I've had these two bugs:

    • Last week I completed all my rings and though I should have earned "Perfect week" i haven't. Does any one know how to fix this? I can see esch day of the week is completed but neither of the four perfect week medals are counting it. Last week it worked.

    • I don't know if this is a bug but my August challenge is ridiculous (specially compared to my previous months). To complete 5 days of exercise...🤷🏻‍♂️ Is this a bug?

    Thanks a lot!

Hit day 365, and didn’t get my achievement.

    Posted: 07 Aug 2018 07:01 PM PDT

Today, I hit day 365 of being active, and hitting EVERY SINGLE GOAL. When I finished my workout, I was excited to get my year achievement badge. All I got was a "Congratulations on hitting your longest love streak of 365 days." But no badge.

What is it Best Used For?

    Posted: 07 Aug 2018 10:16 PM PDT

So I got an Apple Watch Series 3 as a b-day gift by my parents, and they said they weren't sure if I'd like it or not and if I don't like it then that's fine and they'll take it back, but I've never been a watch guy or even thought about having an Apple Watch, so I guess I'm just wondering what are the most common uses for it? Is it really that good and should I give it a shot? Thanks in advance for any advice
