    I thought you guys might find this useful.

    I built this app from feedback from the /r/AmoledBackgrounds sub.

    OLEDify converts regular dark wallpapers into Pure Black wallpapers (#000000 - pixel is off). Since the pure black pixels are off, it helps reduce battery use on the newer phones with OLED and AMOLED screens. For iOS, iPhone X is the first phone with OLED screen. Even if your iPhone doesn't have an OLED screen, I find pure black wallpapers looks super crisp and nice!

    • The app is 100% free to use and has no ads. I noticed a few people requested a donate/tipping on the AmoledBackgrounds subreddit post, so there is a Tip Jar option but it's not required to unlock any features.     • The "Crop & Resize" tool in the app can be used to resize & fit wallpapers for your screen. This is useful when you have an image which doesn't perfectly fit your screen as it helps you create a new image of the suitable size for your screen size. Got this idea from the comments on "Can someone resize this for XXX device"

    • The app also contains a "Post to Reddit" option which posts the edited wallpaper directly to the /r/AmoledBackgrounds sub. It has the "sub rules" in place already - the title contains the resolution [1024x750], the wallpaper must be 40% true black. One "cool" thing I think the app has is that the wallpaper gets uploaded to my Amazon S3 server and the link is directly to my domain w.oledify.com. So the wallpaper shared in the link to AmoledBackgrounds doesn't suffer from compression issues which imgur uploads do (causes pure black pixels to no longer be pure black sometimes).

    Any donations made will help pay for this S3 hosting service too.

    Also notice the image name in the link ends with the % of true black (75point1) and the resolution (750x1334).

    • As you drag the sliders, the updates to the image happen in realtime and quite fast. Had to utilize the GPU instead of CPU for this to work and it took forever but I am glad it worked out well and gives a better user experience.

    • I have tested the app on 5 iPhone X so far, on my personal 6S and on the simulator. The app has been tested by a few members from the /r/AmoledBackgrounds sub.

    I would also like to thank all the beta testers from this community who helped bring this app to where it is now. I really appreciate the feedback! Overall, the testers think the app is quite useful but I am open to any additional feedback and criticism to make it even better! Also if anyone has any questions regarding the app or the development process, feel free to ask!

    Looking for: Voice Recording App

    Hi Folks,

    I am looking for a voice recording app (paid or free - prefer paid for no ads) which will let me record voice and also flag important moments during recording, and perhaps even add a note if needed,

    iphone and ipad or whichever works

    Been checking some apps

    Proxy server for iOS?

    Does anyone know of any apps that will allow me to use my iPhone as a proxy, not the other way around (connect to a proxy server).

    I'm able to do this on Android, but I've had a tough time searching for an iOS equivalent.

    Increase font size in browser only?

    I love my SE, but finding the browser text way too small. But I've found turning on & playing with the larger text setting in the accessibility settings makes the overall OS text way larger than it does the browser text, which is annoying. You have to really bump it up to make a difference in the browser, but it makes the other apps & UI text HUGE.

    Is there a way to just bump the browser font higher? I've also tried a few of the popular 3rd party browsers, but none seem to have a minimal font size setting anywhere (maybe I'm missing one?). Thanks!

    Help with iOS Wifi issues

    Hello,

    First post here and I hope I'm not posting in the wrong sub. I use an iPad (3) that runs iOS 9.3.5 and it has lately developed an issue wherein it will not play nice with my home (WPA2 AC) WiFi network. This means that it will not log on to my WiFi automatically after a few hours - and if I manually attempt to connect it says incorrect password or unable to connect. I see that many people have had this problem with various versions of iOS and suggest various fixes. However, the only solution I've found that works is to perform a network reset every time and then it logs on.

    My question is: I am considering switching to an iphone 8. Is there any way of predicting if I'll have the same issue with that? I know for sure it's not a problem with the router as I've had this occur with three different routers and none of my other devices seem to have this issue.

    Is there an app that combines other messaging apps?

    On mac there is Franz that combines slack, telegram, messenger and much more... However, it doesn't have an iOS app. I was wondering if there is an app on iOS that does what Franz does on the mac?

    IOS Maps APP question

    Okay so i am going to be backpacking and hiking around areas off the road. Will IOS Maps App still work and show my position (even moving) if I am not on a road or near a town? If it won't, can anyone recommend an app that can do this? Thanks.

    Can't add Gmail to IPhone 6S

    I hope someone can help me here. I tried posting on r/google and the mods automatically removed my post. I changed my gmail account password the other day because I had forgotten it. I of course got the change password notification when I opened my mail icon. I put the correct password in and it kept asking for my password. Finally I deleted the gmail account from my mail and tried to add it back. I can't add it back now. I can get the gmail through the website but can't add it under my mail on my iPhone. It takes the info, then automatically goes back to the services provider screen. I have no idea what's going on, it's really frustrating. Has anyone ever experienced this, and how did you fix it? I also get the email security email from Google in my other email saying I have signed in from an apple device, but the gmail isn't showing up.

    Quick version is that, I didn't archive my backup before getting on the beta and iTunes copied over it. Forced to use my second back up, which is a little less than a year old.

    I saved and archived the iOS 12 backup.

    Here are my ideas,

    Wait until iOS 12 is officially releases, update my phone and then restore from that backup.

    or

    Download iOS 12 Beta 6 IPSW, shift + update, then select the backup

    What do you think?

    Hi guys I've been unable to access a few sites YouTube, Yahoo mail and Punch Newspapers and even Facebook on my safari, chrome and each respective apps I.e YouTube app and Facebook app. Error message give is m.youtube.com sent an invalid response. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR kindly assist with a resolution guys. Thank you
