Posted: 20 Jul 2018 07:38 PM PDT I went to go buy an iPhone 8+ earlier this afternoon, I wanted to pay the $799.99 in full rather than pay monthly for personal reasons. So everything was going well until the salesperson told me that I would be charged an extra $20 for buying in the store?? They apparently do this to encourage people to get the upgrade plan rather than paying upfront. This was honestly one of the most blatantly money-hungry policies I've ever seen. This was at a Texas T-Mobile store so I don't know if this applies everywhere. The lady said that I could bypass the $20 fee by ordering over the phone, so I tried that... and they would still charge me an extra $20! So then I went over to the website to order it over there and fortunately there was no extra upfront fee..... instead there was an additional $25 Sim-Kit that was required to come with the purchase! Some minutes later i heard a noise and that frigging thing had fallen down to the ground. It was at least 10cm away from the edge and my desk is not perceivably tilted. I got some from Peel and both ended up with weird significant edge cracks that I have no idea how they appeared. I'm pretty disappointed given how expensive they are. I noticed that Patchworks has one that seems to be good but I'm not keen on the weird black they put over the notch with holes for the sensors. Anyone have better luck? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Updating Apps with another Apple ID? Posted: 21 Jul 2018 09:02 AM PDT I had to change apple IDs because someone stole my info and started making purchases and the Apple ID got disabled. Now when I go to update the apps that I already have it wants me to update them with my disabled account. Is there really no way to update the existing apps with the new ID? Do I literally have to uninstall each app and install them again with the new ID for that to work? What if I uninstall an app then I got to download it again and it doesn't work with my IOS? No I shouldn't update to the newest IOS that is not a "solution". [link] [comments]  | ||

| iPhone 7 home button not working and sound not working Posted: 21 Jul 2018 08:33 AM PDT The other day my iPhone 7 that I got around 7 months ago just stopped working well. My home button intermittently works, but I have to turn assistive touch on in case it decides not to. Then, I noticed my alarms weren't going off. The speaker is not working at all unless it is hooked up to Bluetooth or a headphone port. I looked it up and it said that a replacement home button without Apple Care is like $400, so no. But there are some steps that I found online like cleaning the port with a toothbrush and all that. Nothing is working to fix the sound either. I could master reset but don't know if that would do anything.... I noticed that when I try to play music or a video, it just sits there and won't load. like the video on my Snapchat and on my camera roll and social media will not play. There was no water damage, also. Please help if you have any idea what I could do without dropping hundreds. :/ [link] [comments]  | ||

But today, it has been unresponsive for about 7 hours. I think it's linked to the ios 12 beta, but I can't even go back to ios 11, because I can't unlock my phone (since I can't swipe up to unlock and connect to Itunes). However I still can't focus on the screen to memorize the name of the song, so it would be useful to ask Siri to put that song name into my notes. Is that possible? If so, what should I say?
