This is a new idea so please feel free to offer your feedback about this thread or the subreddit in general in the comments. As usual if you have a serious issue with the subreddit please contact the moderators directly. This thread is intended to help members of the /r/iphone community get informed about new apps that are out there. App developers may also use this thread to make users aware that their new app exists. Please sort comments by 'new' to find questions/information that would otherwise be buried. In this thread you can ask any iOS app related question that you may have. Anyone may offer advice on any issue. Two examples of potential questions could be; "How do I learn to code an app?", or "How is app pricing determined?" I have been enjoying it, but this morning I noticed one of my charging pins was stuck "down" and that my telephoto lens has a speck of dust in it. Everything still works fine, and the dust doesn't interfere with photos. I need some advice on what to do from here. Not in a hurry to go to apple, since everything still works. I am extremely happy with the battery and performance, it runs like new and everything is silky smooth. The new iCloud message syncing is making me rethink that! How are people finding the 6S running performance wise to iOS10? Any thoughts on battery life or performance? If my battery takes a massive hit, I might hold off upgrading. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Is iPhone 6s still viable to buy in 2018? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 03:29 AM PDT Hi, currently i am android user (200€ +-xiaomi), but honestly after year and a half it is not so fluent, and mainly, camera sucks a lot. So i decided maybe it would be a good idea to look into iphones, so here i am, asking you for your opinions and tips. My budget si tight, so i cant buy newest models, and also prices here are little bit higher than in US. So i am deciding between this models:
iPhone 6s is currently the hottest candidate As i plan to travel, good camera is one of the highest priorities. (i am not photographer) Is iPhone 6 camera still viable? Or should i take at least iPhone 6s? What about capacity? Is 32GB enough? I am not like some crazy-always-taking selfie user but still, when i see something nice, i may want to take picture of it. Also, i barely play games, mostly just music/internet/apps. Are there any useful information i should know before switching from android to iOS? Please take in mind i never had any apple product. (no problems with copying own music files/data files?...what about bluetooth headphones? no problems with pairing?) | How to get barbecue sauce out of my speaker? Posted: 31 May 2018 12:37 PM PDT I hope the title was enough to grab your attention. About a month and a half ago I dropped my phone in a bowl of honey barbecue sauce (let's not ask how). I dropped it top down, so the sauce went all in my top speaker (on the front of the phone by the front facing camera). I immediately put my lips to it to suck out as much as possible, and for the next few days wiped it continuously to try and get as much off/out as possible. To no avail evidently, as phone calls are extremely muffled to the point I have to use speaker phone. Any ideas as to how to help fix the issue? Or would I just have to replace the speaker/get a new phone altogether? I've been thinking about just going ahead and upgrading since it's about that time anyways. | What is the difference between Personal Hotspot being “Off” versus “Not Discoverable”? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 02:42 AM PDT Hey all, Recently got an iPad 2018 and have been using it a lot by connecting to my personal hotspot on my iPhone 7. I connect using Instant Hotspot and everything works great. When I'm done using my iPad and disconnect from my personal hotspot, I notice that the Personal Hotspot setting in my iPhone's Control Center is set to "Not Discoverable." However, in Settings my Personal Hotspot is toggled to "Off." If I toggle it On and then back off, now Personal Hotspot in the Control Center says "Off". What's the difference? I'm concerned that leaving it on "Not Discoverable" might be draining some battery and might be less secure than making sure it is "Off". Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||

| iPhone X battery stuck at 83% while charging overnight after updating to 11.4 Posted: 01 Jun 2018 07:14 AM PDT Upgraded on 11.4 release day, didn't have any issues until yesterday when enabling iMessage in iCloud. Messages app would lock up and progress bar stuck at Downloading Messages from iCloud. Went in and disabled iMessage within iCloud settings, wiped phone and restore from iCloud backup and now won't charge past 83%. Anyone else have these issues? [link] [comments]  | ||

Recently my job started requiring that i have another phone as a business phone. My company offered to buy me a phone of my choice, so I've gotten curios. What is different in regards to Android, what are pros, cons ? Is it really true that all the apps are better on iPhone, even the Google ones ? | Issues following Updating to iOS 11.4 Posted: 01 Jun 2018 12:41 AM PDT After updating my phone to iOS 11.4, I ran into a number of issues; primarily being unable to sign in with my apple id (when i sign in it shows a loading screen saying "singing into icloud", and then just returns to the main settings screen) for imessage, losing all my messages in the messaging app, emails and contacts, along with rapid battery drain. | Posted: 01 Jun 2018 10:10 AM PDT Long story short: I used to have a 7 Plus. We switched to Verizon. My 7 Plus wasn't compatible. Being the curious person I am (plus kind of a geek) I bought an S8 Plus to use. Ended up getting tired of Samsung's software and switched to the Pixel 2 XL. Nope, still too laggy for me. Bought an 8 off eBay and have loved being back with Apple. But, now I'm tempted to switch to the 7 Plus again. I like the one handed use of the 8, and the wireless charging is sometimes handy, but other than that, I miss the screen size of the Plus. The 8 Plus would involve me spending money on top of selling my 8 whereas the 7 Plus would more or less be a trade and I might break even and I'm trying to save money this Summer. Anyone else feeling the same way or done the same thing? I don't feel the 8 is hardly faster than the 7's. Just curious what other people think. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Anyone familiar with MaaS360 and its inner workings on BYODs? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 10:00 AM PDT My IT is rolling this out and i'm doing research to see if I will let it be installed on my device. I am told that they cannot track/see/do anything other than what is in their "container". I know MDM can do a lot and I know MaaS360 has numerous settings and can disable itself from tracking. My question/concern is, can they change the MaaS360 policies and begin to do other things without reinstalling the MDM or granting new permissions from me? For example, if tracking is disabled and I install the MDM can they come through later and enable the tracking without me knowing? [link] [comments]  | ||

| headphone jack adapter/dongle options for someone attached to their wired headphones Posted: 01 Jun 2018 09:29 AM PDT My included dongle broke, the ones I bought on Amazon are garbage and say "accessory not supported". Is my only option the apple store ones? They have one and a half stars- are they really that bad? Another option for recommendations- I have a little Bluetooth reciever I use for my wired headphones when I need to charge, I'm considering getting a better one that runs the latest Bluetooth version for better quality. It sort of defeats the purpose of wired headphones though. (I'm not going to invest in actual dedicated wireless headphones. My headphones were a gift and I'm proud of maintaining them for so long lmao.) [link] [comments]  | ||

| iPhone 8plus draining data. What am I missing? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 08:49 AM PDT I upgraded from a 6 to an 8 plus about 8 weeks ago. I would use about 80% of my data on the 6 and it was never an issue. Now that I am on the 8plus I am going over by about 20% a month. I backed up my 6 and imported everything to the 8plus.
