    Welcome to our weekly stickied App thread! This is a new idea so please feel free to offer your feedback about this thread or the subreddit in general in the comments. As usual if you have a serious issue with the subreddit please contact the moderators directly.

    This thread is intended to help members of the /r/iphone community get informed about new apps that are out there. App developers may also use this thread to make users aware that their new app exists.

    Please sort comments by 'new' to find questions/information that would otherwise be buried.

    In this thread you can ask any iOS app related question that you may have. Anyone may offer advice on any issue.

    Two examples of potential questions could be; "How do I learn to code an app?", or "How is app pricing determined?"

    Developers, please include as much information about your app as possible, including size, price, release info, and anything else people request.

    Finally, please stick to reddiquette and keep your comments on topic and substantive. Thanks for participating.

    I have to re-login to twitter, youtube, Instagram, etc. constantly, when in a browser. Why can't we stay permanently logged in? Why doesn't "remember me" even work?

    Odd question about broken iPhone 7

    Hi r/iphone,

    Not sure if this is the right sub (if not I understand if its deleted)

    So I dropped my iPhone 7 the other day and the screen stopped working. the home button still was responsive as were the volume down button and power button as I did a hard reset to see if that helped. My girlfriend called it and it still vibrated when called but still no display. I contacted apple and they suggest I restore it with iTunes. I did that and it didn't work. Im not sure if it restored fully because I can't see it but it is still in the same state (screen not working, buttons are responsive, vibrates when called)

    so my question is if I go to sell this phone to someone who can fix it, will they encounter my passcode to get access to the phone? or does the restore reset it to factory settings? SIM card is gone btw. Thanks in advance!

    Is the Apple Watch worth it?

    I've been thinking about getting a smartwatch and was thinking about a Fitbit. I'd love to have something better track my activity, sleep, and require me to take my phone out less. But I figured if I have an iPhone might as well get the Watch. I just have a few questions for those of you that have one?

    1. Which series do you have? Is there a big difference between models?

    2. Did you buy used or new?

    3. Have you had a Fitbit/Garmin before? How would you compare the two?

    4. How long does it last you?

    5. What's the best thing about having an Apple Watch?

    Best way to wrap charge cables?

    Carplay heat x and 7

    Curious if anyone elses phones warm up when they stream undownloaded music while using Carplay, I drive an f-150 seems to happen more with spotify. Happens on both my X and 7.

    When I put an music album on my iPhone, some albums are getting split up. When I delete them off my iPhone to try again it won't let me add them from iTunes back on.

    Hello,

    As I said in the title. I'm having some trouble with just a few albums where when I put them on my phone from iTunes one track is not with the rest of the album. When I delete them off my phone to try again it doesn't work. It might say its doing it for a second then stop. I can do other albums but not one where I did this. Any help would be great!

    Help with iCloud Backup Restore (I don't want to restore to 11.4)

    Hello Everyone,

    Today I tried to install an IPA (signed) directly from iTunes (old version, 12.6) but when I apply installation it removes all my current applications and let only native ones and the one I wanted to install (because I didn't ever synced my phone apps). Anyway, the fact is I deleted accidentally all my apps.

    I thought, it was not a big issue. Just have to reinstall all my apps gently, or (I thought it was smarter) just erase all contents (since it is almost already empty on my springboard) and restore iCloud backup from last night. Easy trick.

    However, I started the "configuration of a new iPhone from iCloud backup" for 2 hours now and the estimated time keeps increasing more and more. It was 3 min then 12min, 19min and now 30min (even after 2 hours)....

    Do you think I fucked up ? :S (I am on 11.2.1 and I don't have blobs for 11.3.x except beta ones because I got my X only few days ago). Or do you think it will just take time to restore?

    EDIT : Do you know what happens if I switch off my router and thus my wifi ? Will my iphone interrupt restore and say something ? Is it a bad idea ?

    EDIT : SOLVED - I just discovered that you can long press main button on iPhone X to make appear a menu that let you change wifi settings, switch off the phone or restart the restore process.

    Youtube App stops playing recorded live stream after 30 seconds

    I'm running v13.23.8 of the youtube app on my iphone 6s plus, when playing a video that was a live stream and has since finished, after 30 seconds of playing it, the video will stop and I get the message 'Live stream offline'. This happens to live streams that I've previously watched on my iphone before the v13.23.8 update the other day. It also happens if I skip to a random part of the video and leave it playing for 30 seconds.

    I've rebooted the phone, deleted and reinstalled the app and it still happens.

    None live stream videos play fine. The live stream videos work fine on a pc and also in Safari on my iphone.

    I've tested this on another iphone and it does the same thing.

    Is this a bug in the new version or something to do with youtube premium? Thoughts?

    What processes make the iPhone shut off at night?

    I have an iPhone 8 with a broken homebutton (a pen fell on it, yikes) and it also has a problem where it gets stuck on the home button when it tries to turn on. I have to take it into recovery mode and reset it as a new iPhone. This isn't that much of a problem, actually, it's just that I wake up every 3-4 days and find my iPhone has done some process overnight (which I have asssumed to be updating or an iCloud backup) in which my iPhone tried to reset and now is stuck on the Apple logo. Is there some process I can disable in settings so that I won't wake up to this annoying thing?

    iPhone 6 Plus is better than I expected

    I recently upgraded from a shitty i5s (TouchID didn't work, it couldn't vibrate at all, rear camera didn't work, battery lasted 1.5 hours) to a iPhone 6 Plus 64gb and it surprised me a lot. I didn't expect it to be that much faster but it is pretty freaking fast for a regular 6 plus. Touch ID is fairly fast too, it feels so good that I can finally unlock my phone with my fingerprint 😁 Any 6 Plus users here?

    Citizens one really sux. Can't update credit card expiration and CVV. One must create an entirely new and duplicate payment method - pain in the ass. So I call their "we're here 24 hours for you " telephone number. Haha. All recordings. Call apple. Call your bank.

    Did reach someone after 9am. They know about the problem for a long time. Wanted to just pay off loan and be done with them. They really try to make it hard on you to close your account.

    Get this... In order for the call center to take a payment over 100 American, the call center rep has to put you on hold and get an ok from a supervisor to take a payment over $100.

    Jeezuz I shudder to think what it must be like when they make a mistake and have to issue a 10 cent credit. Prolly have to get approved by CFO. This demonstrates that Citizen one has no confidence in their own team. Why would I?

    Rep was polite but the citizens one organization has real asshole policies and no customer service. Surprised they are endorsed by AAPL.

    How do I unsubscribe from a calendar, iOS 11.4

    Sometime in the long long ago I subscribed to a holidays calendar. It has now become a bit unbearable for me because every couple of days is some "holiday" according to that calendar so I'd like to remove it. I've gone into the calendars app and found it under "other" it is named "Untitled Calendar" for some reason. I can disable the calendar but I cannot find where to unsubscribe. The results I get from google all appear to be for an older version of iOS as it has me go into settings then "mail, contacts, calendars" which no longer exists. I've gone through settings > calendars and do not see a subscribed calendars option.
