    OK Then

Someone started (unjustifiably) yelling at me at work earlier, and in the midst of the verbal onslaught I found it oddly calming and disassociating to have my vital signs reported back to me

Here's a preview of the Activity Challenge award coming in watchOS 5.

    Leaving “workout” on while working?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2018 09:36 PM PDT

I have a friend that put her watch in a "workout" when she goes to work. Her rings are all closing and she's SMASHING her goals. But normally when it's not in workout mode she's not nearly as close to the calories burned. Why is this? Does enabling a workout trigger more calories burned?

Context, she works a customer service job where she's on her feet all day and walking a lot but not breaking a sweat.

Anyone notice that the Apple Watch (1st generation) edition gold edition 38mm case released 2015 has the same red dot as the LTE watches (I know it doesn't have LTE just thought I should point that out)

Search site for Cheap/Discounted 3rd Party watch bands

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 08:54 AM PDT

A couple months back I stumbled across this great little website that allowed you to search and filter various third party cheap watch bands. They didn't sell any directly, but instead had links to independent websites and amazon. Does anyone remember this webpage, or can post a link. I can't seem to locate it. I remember they had the faux hermes ones for under $30. They somehow compiled a listing of some of the same bands you see on site with these articles about the highest rated knockoff bands.... TIA.

Activate Siri on watch, answer through iPhone-connected Airpods

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 08:42 AM PDT

I bike a lot. I have an iPhone 7, Airpods, Apple Watch S1.

I don't have Siri shortcuts on the pods, because I use Play/Pause and Skip much more.

Sometimes I just have to/want to use Siri while on my bike from work. So I lift my wrist up, yell ‚Hey Siri!', give it a second because the watch is slow. Then I give my command. But because the outside noise and wind from driving is pretty loud, the watch almost never gets me.

Couldn't the Watch detect that it is connected to an iPhone that is connected with Airpods, and pick up microphone audio from there? Because that microphone is much closer to my voice and also I wouldn't have to hold my wrist up like a wannabe secret agent.

I mean the watch knows it's on my wrist. The pods know their in my ears. It could be an option, I guess.

What apps do you ACTUALLY use on your Apple Watch?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2018 05:36 PM PDT

So iJustine posted this video today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHPYf-R8WSY

This video was a huge "meh" to me! It seems she doesn't even keep her Watch clean of unused apps, which to me is as important or even more important than keeping your iPhone clear of useless apps, I mean, it's like having trash on your wrist.

The Watch requires granular customization, hence complications, but not everyone has time for that (see what I did there?).

I really think that the Watch is only as useful as you make it to be though. Sure, notifications and getting info at a glance is useful but there's more to it. Apps that would require just a couple of taps on your phone work best on Watch.

These are the apps I personally use regularly on my Apple Watch:

    • 1Password – Secure, simple and on the wrist. Specially useful if you use generative Two-Factor Authentication codes for your log-ins (which everyone should).
    • Tile – With a complication, it takes just a couple of taps to find my stuff from my wrist.
    • Remote – Controlling my Apple TV from the wrist more than I do with my iPhone or the remote. Has complication.
    • Accuweather – I use the Accuweather app because of how precise it is and it's "real feel" weather. I use the "real feel" weather temperature as a complication.
    • Today – Habit tracking apps are perfect for the Watch, they just require just a couple of taps very casually throughout the day. This app looks great both on iPhone and Watch. Has a complication for quick habit check-ins and seeing completion.
    • Sleep Cycle – To use it with the Watch makes sleep tracking much more accurate and it's just cool.
    • Slice – Automatic package tracking based on your order confirmation emails on your wrist.
    • Other Apps that work great: Uber, Rules!, Elevate, Tweetbot, Buffer, Musicmatch.
    • Built in apps: Calendar (with complication to see next appointment at a glance), Activity, Reminders, Now Playing (control music from your HomePod too!), Wallet (because Apple Pay).

Since it's Apple's "most personal device", what apps do YOU actually use on your Apple Watch?

    Sticking watch crown

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 08:29 AM PDT

Hi! I've had my Apple Watch series 3 for less than a month and for the last few days the crown has been kind of sticking when I go to use it. I read that to solve this you should: turn the watch off and run the crown under warm water while twisting it as if you were using it. Has anybody else done this? I know the watch is water proof, but I've personally always been too scared to put it in water, which I know is a little silly. Just wondering if anybody else has had this issue and is this the best way to solve it? Thanks!

    Adding activities manually

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 07:42 AM PDT

Hi guys, I saw a post from a year ago that said go to your Health app and click the plus button to add activities manually, but I can't find the plus button. I'm pretty confident that I've looked throughly but I wanted to add a day of kayaking as i couldn't wear my watch. Any suggestions other than downloading a separate workout app?

For anyone who is currently in Moscow for World Cup 2018, does Apple sell country flag watch bands just like in the Olympic Games?

Joined the family finally! Think I got a killer deal on a basically brand new S3. Not a single scratch looks like it was just returned on the 16th!

Watchmaker doesn't seem to work right? Time position options are only top and bottom.

    Posted: 22 Jun 2018 04:45 AM PDT

My only options to position the digital time are top right and bottom right (options described as "top" and "bottom"). Unfortunately this doesn't work with 90% of the watch faces on Watchmaker.

Is there any way to disable the forced time position so that it looks exactly the way it appears on the Watchmaker preview?

Is there now any way to downgrade the OS of apple watches?

I have a series 1 apple watch and after upgrading it to the latest OS it showed signs of slowing down. Is there a way to downgrade it to the earliest OS version?

Apple Watch deal. Is this the best I’m going to get?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2018 01:07 PM PDT

So at my local best buy there is an open box (refurbished) apple watch series 3 space grey 42mm non-cellular for $294 minus tax. Is this best best deal i'm going to get on an almost brand new watch? would it recommend it?
